When I was a senior in high school, my Mom gave me her class ring. It was a little big and she told not to wear it, but I really, really wanted to show it off to my best friend. I was only going to swim practice and straight back home; I didn't think I could lose it in that short of time. Well, I did. I knew it had to be one of 3 places, the Y, my grandma's car, or someplace at home. Searched all over and never found it. Fast forward 15 years and my Dad is getting the deck replaced. When they tore up the boards on the old deck, there was the ring on the ground, under the deck, near the door of the house. It had most likely fallen off while I was fumbling with keys opening the door.

Yes, I have no idea where the title to my truck is. It should be in my safe. But I looked one day when I was getting my passport and it's not in there. I've glanced a few times since then and didn't see it. But I have zero reason why it would have ever been taken out or moved. I keep thinking that eventually it will just be there and I'm not looking hard enough. Hopefully about the time I'm ready to sell it. It's been paid off for about 10 years, so it's not something I thought about at all. Still frustrating.

Rainangel, didn't i read that your sister had one of the videos? then you can get copies. Did your grandma have a copy? Maybe her relatives that went to the house after. maybe they took her stuff they will have it so you can get a copy.

My sister made one tape for herself, and one tape for me and sent the original tape down to me. We had sent each other things in the mail plenty of times before, but this was the only one to go missing, so I don't think we really thought it COULD go missing. And my grandmother did not have a copy, she could barely change the channel on her television, let alone hook up a VCR Make copies of EVERYTHING people

I lost a gold ring when I was gardening in a raised flower bed. Searched for hours but didn`t find it. Forward to the following year in Spring and there was my ring around a Snowdrop that had grown through it. Lesson learned, no rings when gardening.

When I turned 16, my older sister gave me a pair of pearl earrings with tiny diamond. When my dd turned 4 my dad bought her a diamond necklace that he wanted me to give her when she was 16 (he's all silly and didn't think he'd 'be around' when she turned 16 so he wanted to make sure she got it). Well we moved in 2007 and those two items, along with my and DH's birth certificates and some other less important stuff that I can't remember for sure, were in the same hidden drawer in my dresser and were packed in a box together. Can't find them ANYWHERE. I'm sick about it. I've been looking for 7 years. This is insane: Years ago we went to a Christmas hayride out in the country. DD was still in pullups and had pooped right before we got there. I was trying to clean her up and get her changed -- realized the pack of wipes in the bag was empty! Ugh, had to use napkins from the glovebox to clean up the poop and one of the napkins tore and I got poop on my finger. Don't you know I scoured my car and had NO hand sanitizer, or wet wipes and had used the last napkin on DD's rear. So I had no choice but to wipe my hand on the ground. In the damp, freshly cut hayfield. So I got the poop off but had wet hay and dirt and grass on my hand. So I kind of shook my hand to get stuff off of me. I never felt the ring fly off I just know when we walked up to the line to pay and I reached in my purse I notice my ring wasn't on my finger. So we all ran back to look. In the dark. In a hayfield of all places. Needless to say my engagement ring was never found. DH bought me a new on for Christmas that year, but I will always be heartbroken over that ring. It wasn't big or expensive but its sentimental value to me was immeasurable. I hope you found your money $350 is no small amount!! A good friend of ours lost his 'mad money' stash not too long ago (he changed hiding places because they hired a different cleaning service and just wanted to be careful). It was like $600. LOL he found it after he stopped looking.

Things I have lost and have not found...
My wedding ring. We went to Disney and it was hot and my fingers were swelling so I took it off and left it in the car. I really thought I had put it back on during the ride back from the airport but a few days later I could not find it. Thought it would turn up eventually. It never did. That was 4 years ago.
My step grandmothers engagement ring and the first necklace my DH bought me for my first mother's day. My daughter at one time had a bad habit of taking things that did not belong to her. I found a bunch of my jewelry stashed in different parts of her room (in a small toy lunch box, in a little purse, etc). And though I can't be sure that is what happened to my missing items, i'm pretty sure that is what happened. This was like 8 years ago.

A year ago I misplaced my dad's poa paperwork, which I needed for him for hospice. Luckily hospice was able to use the copy in his facilities' chart, and then dad passed away a week later, so the paperwork was no longer needed. It was in a catalog mailer sized envelope with green markings around the edge. We had nothing else in our home with those markings. I usually had it in a briefcase in my trunk because you never knew when I would need to show the papers.
Fast forward to a July of this year, when I started to prep for the August primary. The blasted envelope with in my case for my election materials. Why? I swear I must have put it there in my sleep, or we have a ghost! I had taken time off from elections last year, since dad was so ill, and did not work any, so the election materials had been stored in my office closet for close to 18 months.... And I had used the poa paperwork almost monthly. Weird.
Hope every one else finds there missing items swiftly.

Twice now I've pulled apart a certain drawer, so for some reason my brain thinks it ought to be there, but it's not. Did you already pull out that drawer, to see if it fell behind? I lost a gift certificate once and kept going back to the same drawer and rifling through it, sure I had put it in there. It had fallen out the back, so I had to remove all three drawers to find it at the bottom.

When that happens to me I usually find the item in the first place that I look - or the place that I think it should be. What throws me off though is that I think it is in a small white envelope and it's in a legal size envelope. Or I think it is in something one color and it's in something another color.
When I'm looking for something specific - and I think I know what it is in, I tend to disregard any other color, shape or size item.

They came up on a daffodil the next spring.

Oh, forgot my favorite lost item story. I took out my diamond earrings one night because my ear was itching like crazy. Put them on my nightstand and pushed them under my footed lamp. Three days later I realized one was missing. Panicked. They were my mothers and I love them. My dad had them specially designed for my mom. Told hubby I thought it was the dog. Yeah, little turd would eat anything. Hubby brought home a poop bag from their walk. After I squished around for a bit I found out that he also gotten into the peanuts. And there was a shiny gold peanut in there too. Yup, dang corgi ate my earring. Took them to the jeweler. He made me give him both so I would never know which one was the poop earring.

Golly-350 would be a massive amount of money for me to lose, whether dollars or pounds!
I lost my original wedding and engagement rings about 3 years after we split up. I had them 'hidden' in a flower pot on my bedroom window ledge for safety. My mum found them, when washing the decorative pot, thought it was ridiculous to have them there and told me to put them somewhere 'safe'. I have no idea where 'safe' was and have never seen them since!

I found it today. Thanks everyone. It was in a drawer below the one where I thought it should be, and there was some scrapbook papers on top of it. I think it fell over the back of the drawer where I originally put it, just as a refupeas suggested, and without noticing it, I put papers on top of it when cleaning up after some crafting. I hope some of the other still missing items turn up for all of you!

I would have been very unhappy if I thought the money was actually gone, but I knew it had to be here. That's why I was more annoyed than upset.
