I’ve only done Alaska on Princess, and it was with my parents. Definitely an older crowd, which may be a pro or con, depending on you.
In addition to Viking, I’d also recommend Tauck tours, for a smaller group. They are significantly nicer quality in food and accommodation, and the smaller boats can go to places the larger ships cannot.
For those who have taken Disney cruises with only adults — how Disney is it? I like Disney but I’m not a Disney fanatic, nor do I want the ship to be too kid-focused. Does it just depend on the trip destination/itinerary? Would I have fun or would I need to be really into Disney and/or children to have a good time?

pancakes While we have only gone with our kid on the two Disney cruises we went on, I would highly recommend it for people not traveling with kids too. You don’t have to be a Disney freak to enjoy what their ships offer. Of course the decor on board the ship is very Disney influenced, in the common areas and in the rooms its done in a more subtle and elegant way. In our experience there have never been kids running around willynilly being loud and obnoxious. When they are in their various kid’s clubs or the nursery in special areas of the ship, you never see them. There will be kids around the pool deck, etc. but you would have that on almost any line you were cruising on. If you are in the adults only parts of the ships, you never see any kids there ever. The live entertainment on board definitely has a Disney style bent to it, but there are so many other options that you could choose to take in a movie or something entirely different to do if the evening show wasn’t your thing. When we were on our last cruise in March, they had Star Wars Day at Sea which wasn’t really our thing, but a lot of people loved it. Plus they had early prerelease showings of the movie Captain Marvel on that cruise and we were some of the first people in the world to see it. IMO you don’t have to be a Disney fan to enjoy excellent food, great entertainment, great ports of call, over the top exceptional service and an impeccably clean ship. I think because it’s more expensive up front, people traveling with their kids do what they can do avail themselves of all the clubs, etc. that are available so that they can have something of a grown up vacation too apart from their kids.

Thanks! I'll have to check them out next time we're planning a cruise, then.
