last time I tried to be neat in a hotel room, I left and lost a pair of jeans cause DH insisted on changing rooms. The jeans were in a drawer, and he moved most the stuff to new room. And no one at the hotel found the jeans.

Put away bathroom things back in cosmetics bag. Dirty towels in the tub. Garbage in the can. Clothes in suitcase or hanging in closet. If we have some stuff it can be neatly on the desk.

Super neat. Probably because I don't want my stuff touching a public place as much as possible. But I'm also the nut job who buys a can of Lysol and sprays down the remote, the doorknobs, lightswitches, and the entire bathroom and lets it sit for the recommended time before wiping it up. I got goosebumps just thinking of my stuff touching the floor. Except for the Lysol, I agree! Now I want to bring Lysol... You can get tiny travel size spray containers of it at Target in the travel section. I bought some by mistake once thinking it was air freshener but it was actually Lysol! I keep our things picked up as much as possible because I don’t want to forget anything. I never ever put my clothes in the drawers and rarely bring anything that needs to be hung up in the closet other than maybe my coat or jacket. I leave all of my clothes in my suitcase and use an empty plastic bag to put my dirty clothes into until I’m ready to repack to go home. I try to keep as much of my stuff as possible up off the floor.

Neatish. I hang my clothes and keep my stuff corralled, but I don’t lysol or anything. . Me, too. But mostly so I don’t irritate my roommates. If I were alone, I might be sloppier.

Its amazing how all the peas are such neat travelers!!! lol...
I will say i am neat-ish.. but that is because dh is a complete slob.. he gets the side farthest from the door so i dont trip over his crap!!! He is a complete over packer!! Packs more shoes n more clothes than i do... wayyyy more meds and electronics... its actually quite annoying... but i love him n he takes me places... so ya know.. i deal...
But my stuff... stays in the packing cubes until i wear them then i slide the dirty clothes into my top zipper of suitcase... my toiletries bag is a hanging one that i hang off the main towel rack... it holds all my crap... i travel with a super small make up bag that i toss in n out of my suitcase... only my phone n kindle... they use the same kind of charger...

I'm mostly only in hotels for vacations. I'm neat-ish but probably not to Pea standards. Towels are hung up, clothes are in the wardrobe (mostly, except maybe a sarong over the back of a chair), dirty linen in a bag in the wardrobe etc etc but there's probably a table/bedside/surface or two with a pile of books, sunglasses, tickets, leaflets, suncream, lip balm, cables, water bottle etc on it.

I could have written this. If I’m travelling alone, I’m much tidier. But our family trips were usually three weeks long, and four people sharing a room (three of them very messy) does not bode well for order.

I'm pretty neat. I don't leave clothes lying around and I have a "dirty linen bag" in the bottom of the wardrobe that I use for used clothes. I put my make up back in a make up bag but I do leave other toiletries out.I hang the towels that don;t need replacing and put the dirty ones in the bathtub. I usually have a book/phone charger by the side of the bed. The room looks as if it's occupied but not pristine kind of.
Oh and I usually tidy up after DH as he is far messier than I am!

Neat. I have to keep all my stuff together so I don’t leave anything behind. I can’t stand having to search the room for my possessions. I keep my toiletries together on the bathroom counter. My clothes in my suitcase, and choose ONE table for stuff I use on a regular basis—phone, tablet, purse, etc.
At home, I’m a HOT MESS.

I'm pretty neat. I don't like a lot of surface clutter, so most things are put away. I don't make the bed or hang towels -- having housekeeping take care of sheets and towels is a travel treat. I keep my toiletries bag in the open suitcase. I love suitcase racks -- they let me use the suitcase as a dresser drawer.

Somewhere in between I guess. I travel light, but I'm bad to leave a bunch of stuff laying around (books on the table, jacket slung over a chair, shoes in the middle of the floor, hygiene stuff spread out across the bathroom counter, etc.). However, before I check out, I am meticulous about cleaning up. I do everything in my power to make it appear that no one has stayed in the room so the cleaning staff only has the bare minimum to do in my room.

Its amazing how all the peas are such neat travelers!!! lol... I have to be neater when I’m traveling than when I’m at home because there’s always the risk of forgetting something and leaving it behind. If something gets misplaced when I’m at home, it’s just lost and eventually it’ll turn it up. If something gets misplaced in a hotel room and we leave? It’s usually gone for good. My BFF and I have traveled a lot together and she’s perennially messy so it’s an extra challenge. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve checked out of a hotel and are 50 miles down the road when she realizes she left her phone charger, pillow, curling iron, a watch or other jewelry, something back at the hotel. I’d say that she maybe gets whatever it was back only about 20% of the time so I have to be extra vigilant on my ‘last pass through’ when I’m rooming with her to make sure she hasn’t left anything!

Uber neat. I keep the room like I’m a guest at someone’s home. I’m basically neat at home too. I don’t leave stuff laying all over the place or clothes on the floor.

I'm mostly neat. My makeup and toiletries go back in my bag, my clean clothes are hung or stay in the suitcase, dirty clothes in a pile in my suitcase. I may leave a few things out but they're neat and organized not just strewn all over the place.

I don't usually use a hotel when I travel (too expensive, I go for AirBNB) but I'm much neater than I am at home. I want to make sure my things are together and easy for me to find and keep track of, plus I don't want to make a mess of someone else's property. I'm the same way in a hotel, sure it's a private room but it's still the hotel's property and a staff member is cleaning up after me. I want to be respectful. I can't stand Casey Neistat either, to read that he trashes his rooms doesn't surprise me.

I am pretty neat.. If I am alone in a room with two beds, the unused bed is where I might be a bit messy.. laptop/books/misc items I will put there for easy reach. Towels I always keep in a pile near the door for easy pick up. I clean up cans/bottles or whatever and put in trash.
I am always scared I am going to leave something behind..that is my main reason for being neat... not that I am not normally a room wrecker either..

I am far from being a germaphobe but would say I am more organized than neat. I also never let houskeeping in my room and always use the Do No Disturb sign. If I need towels or other supplies I go ask for them and get them myself.

I'm also neat - for 3 reasons
1. I want to make sure my room actually gets cleaned when I'm not in it. I feel like if I left my stuff laying all around the housekeepers would only do a quick job of cleaning around the crap that's laying out. I want my counters and table tops wiped off and the carpet vaccumed. I try leave all the towels in one spot and to leave items in tidy piles on the tabletops or put away in the closet and suitcases to make it easier for the housekeeper to get her work done. 2. I'm afraid I will lose things if I don't keep them contained and in their place. I've left things behind in hotels several times before.
3. I feel that being careless and leaving your stuff laying around makes it look like you don't care about your stuff and maybe gives people the impression that you wouldn't mind if they went through your things, or just snatched up whatever they wanted.
I have travelled before with a friend. She often left her stuff laying around in the bathroom and spread all over the room. The last time we travelled ( on a 4 day trip) she complained that her expensive mascara and moisturizer were missing on the third day. She blamed the housekeeping staff for stealing it. None of my items were missing, but I had put all of my cosmetics away in my bag.

I'm neater than I am at home. If the place is a mess, I'm much more likely to leave something behind. Plus I love having a neat space without paperwork and various things that seem to always be left out at home. That is part of the vacation for me. When I traveled on business, keeping the room neat was being efficient so I didn't waste a lot of time looking for things in my room.

In between. On holiday the suitcase is unpacked and everything is neat in drawers and cupboards or hung up. Shoes are lined up on the floor, but nothing else is left on the floor. Bottles of lotions and potions are out by the mirror. Tidy, but not put away. Suitcases are locked with combinations spun, towels hung up.
The only things that make me say "in between" instead of "neat" is that I do leave clothes out to dry if they've been worn for an hour before putting them in the wardrobe or the laundry. And I never know where to hang hats, because I never wear them at home, and there are never enough hooks. Hats make the hotel room look untidy.

I throw away everything that can be tossed. I keep my stuff close to the suitcase or in the suitcase.

If they have openings (like a baseball hat) you can hang them over hanger in the closet. Though I wouldn’t do that if you don’t typically use the closet. I travel with the 3M Command hooks and we hang DH’s hats on the mirror by the entry door.

And hangers are always at a premium in hotel wardrobes. Mine just got dumped on the day bed and looked messy!

LOL Our teens are drop it where you are when you take it off. They get nagged a lot to put the dirty clothes in the pop up hamper. LOL
