WELL...Tht's one way to purge an entire category of items from my scrapbook stash...I have all my bigger alpha sticker sheets in a sweater box - probably 1/2 full...SOME cat peed in it. The whole box reeks (and is soggy) so out to the bin it went not good for my motivation...and the culprit is fortunate that he's one of several suspects. They can be so naughty at times. I'm sorry all those stickers are ruined.

My puppy likes to pull something off of my table and bring it to me to show me she is about to chew it. Then she gives it to me, so I will pet her and give her loves for not chewing it and just bringing it to me. She has me perfectly trained.

I suspect it was one of the two senior cats who at 16 sometimes have senior moments and litter box mishaps....

Today I purged some circa 2005 metal embellishments that I know I will never use to make space in a bead organizer for all the wood veneer I scored at TM yesterday. But in a not shocking/comical/absurd turn of events I now feel that I need to replace all of the circa 2005 acrylic paint that I purged a while back for all of that naked wood veneer. Maybe I could use Sharpies instead? Do you use Sharpies or paint on wood veneer?

Do you use Sharpies or paint on wood veneer? I don't typically use anything on my wood veneer (too much work, lol) but I have used markers before. You could also use ink and a dauber... or even maybe colored pencils.

Swung by HL while we were grocery shopping and picked up a couple of alphabets on 40% and a couple more on clearance - I even found the Thickers that I really loved and had only used twice and was especially sad were ruined - even at 40% off they were more expensive than my originals from TM but... DS had given me a HL gift card for my birthday so....

I also like to use embossing powder on my wood veneer. I picked up two packs of plain wood veneer from TM a few weeks ago and I’m probably going to emboss it.

I have scrapbooking products covering three tables + my couch! I need to clean up my mess but I keep making new things. Shimelle’s Field Trip collection is even cuter in person. I’m still miffed I can’t get the matching washi, chipboard, sticker book, project pad, rub ons, or 6x8 paper pad (bad decision, American Crafts!) but the collection is delightful. I’ll dig through my photos tonight and find all of my museum photos to scrap. My Citrus Twist kit arrived today and it’s super cute. I wish it was slightly more themed (I could use some back to school products) but the colors are beautiful. I had a $10 credit to Elle’s Studio that I spent tonight on some holiday products and a few of their new August products. I love the holiday puffy alphas! Anyone want to come clean up my crafty mess? No? I’ll have a glass of wine and get to work.

I finished a layout last night so on track for my 1 layout a week Put 4 pizza boxes full of finished layout in the correct books. Still one box left but the others were over 2 years old. I feel sad my DS has hardly any layouts compared to youngest DD. She was into sports, clubs, went to dances and is a total social butterfly. He was not involved in much except bowling and I took a few photos but not many (they all looked a like). He is however good about getting in photos on vacation so there is that. I am trying to stick to my new motto, "scrap more, buy less". I have plenty and I only keep what I love and rarely purge. I feel like I look at the same collections over and over again, boring. I may do some kits that come from a variety of collection just to spice it up! I got that and other great ideas from RTS on youtube!

The day before yesterday I finished a layout that had been sitting on my desk for awhile. It has no enamel dots on it because (to my horror) I only have pink and purple left. Literally seven different sheets of pink & purple, with all the other colors used. So I guess I know where the hole in my stash is. 😀
Yesterday I started putting together a 3 page layout from a day trip I took the kids to in August. So far I have background cardstock with photos, brochure, and business card glued down. I also have stamped images of a camera fussy cut (but need to be colored to match). They're photo heavy pages, so I guess I'll tuck the embellishments in the inbetween spaces.

I watched a video recently were the woman used a paint pen on the wood and then used the diamond glaze over it and it was really cute. Come to think of it, it was Inkie Quill.

The little cat eye Prima inks are like little paint cans and work perfectly for this.

Do you use Sharpies or paint on wood veneer? I tend to leave my wood veneer pieces au naturel. I like the look of them that wayHave used paint occasionally. Ink will stain them nicely, too.

Last weekend we moved DD back to college for her senior year, and she realized she forgot to place a photo order to decorate her walls. She emailed me her order yesterday so I could place it and pick it up for her, but the photos were really terrible quality. A bunch have been passed around losing pixels each time, a bunch more were backlit because they were avoiding looking into direct sunlight, and then a bunch were indoors in poor lighting. It took all morning to try to correct them, size them, and place the order, but I did it. (patting myself on the back) Can you point me in the direction of a good tutorial for fixing back lit photos, or perhaps you can give me some direction? I have PSE7. I have some photos that I've been trying to correct, and they are better, but look really washed out. Thank you so much for your time!

I am 90% finished cleaning and organizing my scraproom. I always give up at this point and my room becomes a huge mess again after one project, so I'm determined to push through this time and get it totally done. I have to get rid of a few things in order to make room for some new stuff I bought, I don't purge nearly enough. I really have to think about if I will actually use some of that old stuff that I still have or if I'm just keeping it for sentimental reasons. I used the Color My Life app to catalogue all of my stamp sets last week - wow, I have a lot of stamps, and I need to use them more. That's my goal going forward.I never even knew this app existed! I just looked it up online and it looks so wonderful! The description said something about barcodes. Do you have to scan the barcode to enter your stamps or can you take a photo of them to catalog them? I have some stamps that don't have packaging so I wouldn't be able to scan anything and I don't know who manufactured them. Also, does the app automatically tag stamps or do you choose the tags? Thanks so much for your help!

I suspect it was one of the two senior cats who at 16 sometimes have senior moments and litter box mishaps.... I’ve had this happen too, it’s no fun! My oldest cat does this when stressed. If I don’t find it the first time she does it, it’s her spot over and over again 😑 my ex burned, tossed, hid a lot of my things, so I really get upset when my things get ruined.

I use BeFunky which allows the user to upload a photo and then use their photo editing or collage making programs. They have free basic edits (that are fine for my needs) and advanced edits with access available by subscription. This was my most difficult photo of the bunch because it's backlit and indoor with poor lighting. There's really nothing that can be done with a backlit photo except to brighten the foreground. And I must have increased the contrast on this one too, to counter the washed out effect that brightening would give it, but I wouldn't know how to do that on PSE7.

I'm so glad to be able to carve out some scrappy time for my self! No church today, as Dad is feeling a little under the weather, staying home and keeping an eye on him. I'm set up at my scrapbook table and ready to roll! Just printed off the Sketchtember challenges I haven't done yet and hope to do a few this afternoon while watching football. Meatloaf in the crockpot so dinner is taken care of.
Let's go Cowboys!

It's a rainy day here in Minneapolis. I plan to clean this morning and enjoy a lazy afternoon scrapbooking this afternoon. In my pj's, of course.

It's a rainy day here in Minneapolis. I'm on my lunch break in St. Paul, trying to decide if I want to risk losing my parking spot in order to go out in the rain and see what Tuesday Morning has...lol!

Glad you like the Teen Spirit line, dald222! I love the boy line and have used it a lot, but didn’t pick up the girl one. Does it have rainbows? My almost 9 yr old DVD is obsessed with unicorns and rainbows.
