Post here. Lets show our support for this site and our admin, who has worked her behind off getting this set up for us.
I plan to stay.

I plan to stay. The only thing that I really feel we are missing is a FSOT board. I can live without the gallery because we have Pinterest, and I have no need for blogs. I admit that I am worried we will run out of space and be forced to move somewhere else.

I plan to stay.
As I said in my post announcing the "new 2peas refugees board". If the guy used the same name and created a new board behind the back of the admin of this board - it was a shitty thing to do.
The admin posted on page 4 of the other thread
Jul 1, 2014 8:18:44 GMT -4 admin said:
I'm here, very briefly.
I can say that the PM that was posted is accurate. To complete the record, this was my earlier response:
Thank you for that offer, it is really kind of you. However I think as we are just getting settled in here, another move would be counter-productive at this point in time.
I share many of the concerns raised in this thread, but as I said in my response to the OP everyone needs to make their own decision. I did not set this place up to be a "Queen Bee" (or pea!) so I make no claims to control the behaviour of others outside the basic rules & regs.
It is however incredibly heartwarming to see the opinions of me posted here in this thread. Although I haven't publicised my ID, it has been important to me that you all know I am part of the community, which is something you would lose moving over.
I did not know the new site the OP planned to set up would use the same name as this board.

I appreciate all the efforts, so I would remain. However, I agree that I worry about space.

I've staked my claim, and I am here to stay. Thanks, admin!
(space is an issue that can always be solved on the intranet)

I'm staying! Like I said on the other thread: I'd rather join the Studio Calico board than a board with a stolen name.

I'm staying. What's the space issue? Is it fixable? What will happen when we run out of space - will the board shut down or move slower?

For those of you who are worried about space, I wonder if the admin has a way to get rid of old threads? On the boards I used to be the administrator of, I had to do a "thread pruning" every month, otherwise, our boards would eventually shut down due to lack of space. Basically, it was an admin option that I had that allowed me to choose to delete threads that hadn't been posted to for a period of time that I chose. Say 3 months or 6 months. Each month, I would make an announcement about a week before I was going to prune so that members could save any posts they didn't want to lose. I don't know if something like that will work here, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

I'm staying. I don't (didn't) post very often but I read daily. I like this so much better than the original NSBR. Great work, Admin!

I'm staying.
re space - can old threads (bar those that have the hallmarks of a classic) be deleted/stored somewhere else after a certain time? No idea what's involved with maintaining a forum so may be way off the mark. But surely we are not the biggest, most active group on the Internet? I know hard to believe but........ anyone have any insight how other forums manage?
ETA Just T - we were thinking the same thing.

Interesting info about space. I guess that's something we took for granted at 2peas. I'm assuming free message boards have limits. Can they be increased by adding paid advertisements for example?

There is no size limit on proboards. Its unlimited until it causes server issues.

This is from the ProBoards website under FEATURES:
No Size Limit — With ProBoards, you can create as many categories, boards, members, threads, topics and posts as you like. There's no limit. We like busy forums!
They might regret writing that after the Peas have been here a while... But for now, I think we're good...
I'm in!

I'm not going anywhere. This is my last stop on the message board express. I'm thankful for Fairy Podmother and her hard work. Space issues can be fixed.

I know enough about the other side of message boards to be dangerous and there are ways to prune threads and also archive to help free up space without having to add new servers.
