I did pay attention to the colors, using A for this round (Mellow Yellow- odd shade of mustard lol). I was looking at their FB group earlier, and one lady kept saying it isn't fair that they won't release the bonus patterns until the end and that they will need to be purchased. I am torn on that. On one hand that was a bonus to those that did purchase the yarn through them. On the other hand, a lot didn't order since the original colors were sold out. Sooo...

I had to frog seven rows of my Buddha shawl as I missed astitch. I was pissed. As JoP always says I had to put it in the naughty corner for a while until I cooled down.

On about half my squares I make a mistake that necessitates me ripping back a round or 2. At least crochet is much easier to rip back than knitting because the stitches aren’t live/won’t unravel. I am in the midst of knitting a pair of socks - something I haven’t done in about 8 years - and had to rip out a whole heel. Trying to pick up live stitches with fingering weight yarn on size 2 needles was an hour-long process.

I never made socks, but I can imagine how frustrating that would be!!!

That's something that turned me off knitting too. I'm not sure if I have the patience level.

So, ladies... just a heads up! Do NOT crochet after you take hydrocodone cough syrup!
You will be cruising along, thinking your doing great, one row from finishing your 2nd square. You will be all proud of yourself and thinking you finally got the hang of things.
You will then notice a mistake further back in the row, then another, then another...and end up ripping out 4 rows.
I'm going to bed now. 🤦♀️

Happy Friday! I am wishing you all a great day. In addition to crocheting, I am also a self taught artist. Here is a picture of my new art in Step 1. I love the mix of warm and cool colors. The messy background is one of my favorite art things to do. No rules, no thought just playing and experimenting. So stay tuned for the next picture of the next step. It is really coming to life now.

I’m done crocheting my 8 squares for this week. Now I need to block them. (have I mentioned that I don’t like blocking?) I’m still waiting for my yarn to show up😿 I got the email on 9/16 saying it had shipped, but still nothing. As I wait, I’m working on Cherry Heart’s Battenberg Blanket pattern using all the mini skeins of Stonewashed and Riverwashed XL that I received through Jimmy Bean Wools’s crochet club and never used. I’m getting 2 4” squares from each mini. And once I finish all the colored squares, I will still have all the white squares to go . . .. and the sewing everything together . . . And the border. So, it’s not as if I don’t have anything to keep me busy!

I have 4 squares done So wish it was more lol But for all the crap that happened last week, I am happy with that. My grandmother passed away, then I got the plague... DS has firmly hit the terrible 2s and is all sorts of crazy. Did I mention last week that he completely unraveled one of my squares in the amount of time that it took me to move laundry from the washer to the dryer? That was fun. Then the dog grabbed my skein and got it all tangled up. Fingers crossed this week is less eventful lol

I'm currently swearing over the first square sitting in the doctors office LOL I have to go pick up my son after, then when he goes to bed it's back to it! I somehow added 1 extra stitch to 2 sides of my first go round, so it was 3 dc, 4 dc, 3 dc, and 4 dc. 🤦♀️ I kept going, knowing I would have to rip it out, but just trying to make sense of things. Will start fresh tonight! One of the things I struggled with when I started to crochet was where to stitch into the row before. When crocheting in the round, and you are stitching directly into a stitch, you want to place your hook into the loop to-the-right/just-before the stitch below and not in the loop to the left (if there is one). I think it is easy to get off in the center cluster if you stitch in both sides (it gives you 1 too many stitches in the cluster above). Here is a photo that explains what I am trying to say - I hope! Let me know if this makes sense. This was the best crochet advice I had ever been given - completely changed my world. "Rounds are right, lines are left"

Been making things for the local Arts and Crafts fair ever since the county fair earlier this month. To the point where I am frustrated with making things. I have several painted items, bracelets, and ornaments.
My conundrum: I don't know if I should re price tag things I don't sell for my flea market booths or just store everything for next year.
History of the Arts and Crafts fair I am showing at: it is put on by the Garland County (AR) Extension Homemakers Clubs. Members in Garland County are encouraged to have items to sell. (The Fair is a major fundraiser for the county EHC). It is in its 51st year.

tyra, jeremysgirl, Pahina722 and all other Nature’s Walk CAL, new square patterns are out! Yay! Pahina722, how are you coming along? Are you going to try to catch up, or finish what you are working on and then start? tyra and jeremysgirl, I like this week’s squares. Although I think that the Wheat one - the bonus square - is the most difficult one of the blanket because of the clusters. Tyra, if this one proves too frustrating right now, I’d encourage putting it aside until all the other squares of the blanket are done. Just use this week to finish last week’s squares and the Berries square for this week. As you gain more experience, which you are as each day goes by, the clusters will get easier and easier, so saving the Wheat square until the end will most likely make it go faster.

I am on square #6 of week one. I was too tired last night to crochet so I just relaxed and went to bed early. I downloaded the two new squares for this week. I don't think they will be any problem. I plan to spend my evening crocheting tonight. tyra I hope you have a much better week this week. I also hope I will have enough time to get caught up. I have one lunch with a friend scheduled this weekend but other than that I am wide open. So hopefully that will give me enough time to get them done.

Just popping in to see you crafty peas after being without internet access for a week. My old hard drive gave up last Wednesday (on my Birthday). I have really missed seeing all your lovely things, Made a few cards and got a fair bit of sewing done. Did I miss anything good on the boards when I was away? Any hair flips?
