From what I read from several sources on twitter last night, I *think* the concern about the employee contacting the committee directly is the presence of Nunes on the committee. There is an expectation that he will immediately reveal the person's identity to Trump. And by going that route without the anonymity protections that the acting DNI is supposed to provide this person, he or she may not be willing to take the risk.
The IG can reveal the information and it won't be a crime to do so. He'll be fired but someone has to be the hero in this story if the acting DNI and Bill Barr are going to continue to flout the law.

Nunes is a MAJOR issue! But I think dt and Barr already know who it is. Again, Barr has overstepped. McGuire has screwed up, possibaly through ignorance! He no longer has a commander and chief.. He is a civilian. Shall is an important word. He did not do as directed by the rules!

This from Axois..
”WATCH: Rudy Giuliani denies that he asked Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden, before admitting to Chris Cuomo seconds later: "Of course I did!"
Prompted this from Hillary Clinton...
”The president asked a foreign power to help him win an election.
Again.”

Jim Acosta...
”In Oval, Trump tells reporters when asked about Ukraine and whistleblower “it doesn’t matter what i discussed” and adds “someone ought to look into Joe Biden” (per WH pool).”
A random response..
”Someone needs to tell the Wannabe-Dictator that it does matter what he discussed. This is not Russia.”

Trump is CONSTANTLY COMPLAINING that the Presidency is/has cost him BILLIONS. What if a foreign power offered to pay him off personally for some bennie or other to them? I don’t believe this for a nanosecond! He says this for his base. Just another lie.

This from George Conway... ”Call me old-fashioned, but I really don’t think this is a proper role for a United States government lawyer. ” In response to this in The Washington Post story.. “White House counsel Pat Cipollone has been engaged in the matter since shortly after the whistleblower action surfaced, officials said, helping to identify legal obstacles to the sharing of information that could be politically damaging to Trump. Cipollone’s involvement reveals a more direct White House role in the dispute than has previously been reported.” link
The corruption spreads..

Trump has now admitted that he asked the Ukraine to dig up dirt on Biden. Publicly. In his own words.
When will the GOP actually love the Constitution and our country more than their pocketbooks and some warped sense of power?
Why don’t Red Peas like Gia rail against this abuse as loudly and doggedly as “Hillary’s emails?”
There is no sugar-coating that this is an impeachable offense, but Trump and his supporters will find a way to deny it.
No fake news here - Trump has said that he did it.

Does anyone except me wonder what trump and the GOP have on Nancy Pelosi? She has thrown up so many roadblocks to impeachment that I am truly beginning to think she has something she doesn't want to come out. She is trying to hold off hoping trump won't win reelection. I think she is afraid to go after trump because of what will come out about her if he strikes back at her. I am basing this on nothing more than watching her hold off on going after him in the face of overwhelming evidence he needs to be impeached at the least and dragged out of office at the best.
Will this latest whistleblower stuff be enough for her?

She’s part of the old school congress where you didn’t hold your coworkers accountable.
The Republicans are running her over and over and if the did have anything on her, they’d be using it now.
Republicans lie. I’ve said it before—they are successful at being dishonest.
We are not heading towards a fascist or authoritarian state, WE ARE ALREADY HERE.
trump’s MO has always been to go to court, Sue, and keep people in court until they’re bankrupt and wear them down. Exactly what they’re doing now. There’s so much that he’s done that if everyone has to keep suing for info that used to be the normal process, nothing else gets done.
trump thinks he makes every decision and is the sole voice. Republicans are allowing it.
No one is stopping is them.

Does anyone except me wonder what trump and the GOP have on Nancy Pelosi? He has mentioned her financial worth! I think not, but who knows! I am torn about impeachment.... It IS the right thing to do, but I also think it is too late... Even if the House draws up the articles of impeachment, we know the Senate is extremely unlikely to impeach!! And Barr and the lawyers are saying he cannot be charged or have any action, judicial or otherwise, against him, although I think Chief Justice Roberts might have something to say about that, because he would be the sitting judge for the impeachment in the Senate. Unfortunately if it proceeds and the Senate decides to NOT impeach. that could well be a free ride for his 2020 win. We must add to the House, win the Senate, which would give us more control to stop what is going on even if dt wns!

Witch Hunt!
We know trump is a crook. But where is the actual proof? Seriously, where is the proof. Any of it? Where is it?
There is the redacted Mueller Report. Great. But where is the evidence that was used to put the report together? We know who the Mueller Team interviewed in the process of gathering this evidence. How many of these individuals has the White House allowed the Judiciary Committee to interview?
By law when Congress asks for someone’s tax returns the treasury is suppose to fork them over. They asked for trump’s. The Secretary of the Treasury thumbed his nose at Congress.
Now we have this mess with the Whistleblower. The letter should have gone to Congress but the National Intelligence guy won’t turn it over. Instead he shared it with the AG and the White House. Which shouldn't have been done.
So no hard evidence in the hands of the Judiciary or Intelligence Committees.
Its a given the Republicans in the Senate will not vote to impeach trump’s no matter what evidence the House presents.
But what the House must do is present an iron clad case so it doesn’t come across as a “Witch Hunt”. Because what you have is more than a few voters who are illiterate when it comes the government and how it’s run. If the case isn’t solid all they will hear is “Witch Hunt”. The evidence has to be such that a 5 year old can understand it to the point that even the most ardent trump supporter gets that trump is a crook.
And with no actual evidence the House is no where near that point.
The most important thing the Democrats must do is get trump out of office. Without a solid case that trump is a crook and pushing ahead with the Articles of Impeachment could get trump re-elected.
Now I don’t know if the House writes up the Articles Of Impeachment that will force the various departments to turn over what they are currently withholding. My guess is no because wouldn't you have to have actual evidence to write them up first in the first place?
It is my belief this is why Nancy is dragging her feet.

trump today...
”It appears that an American spy in one of our intelligence agencies may have been spying on our own president. The complaint suggests that this intel agent was listening in on Trump’s conversation....”
“with a foreign leader. Was this person officially asked to listen to the conversation or was he or she secretly listening in?” @greggjarrett”
trump 9/19/2019..
”Another Fake News story out there - It never ends! Virtually anytime I speak on the phone to a foreign leader, I understand that there may be many people listening from various U.S. agencies, not to mention those from the other country itself. No problem!”
”Knowing all of this, is anybody dumb enough to believe that I would say something inappropriate with a foreign leader while on such a potentially “heavily populated” call. I would only do what is right anyway, and only do good for the USA!”
So someone may have been “spying” on trump by listening in on a call. So what did this “spy” do with the information he may have heard if he was indeed spying? Sell it to a Foreign Government? Try and blackmail trump? Nope he filed a complaint with the IG of Intelligence that he felt trump said something inappropriate to this foreign leader and the IG of Intelligence agreed.
I believe this may be trump grasping at straws. And the idiots at Fox News are right there to help him.

The sheer fact that Trump has been protected time & again, blunder after blunder, is amazing to me. LavenderLayoutLadyThis is the essence of who Trump has been, forever! The Trump Soho deal should have landed him and his kids in jail, but they all got off with a slap on the wrist! It's freakin' endless to realize how many people/politicians, etc., he has bought off or threatened in his lifetime!

But despite the frustrating reality, the only way to combat or change this cycle is to disrupt it. So consider this is a humble attempt to do just that and provide some clarity to those of you who are too busy to bathe in the minutiae of the Ukranian prosecutor’s office and might be susceptible to throwing up your hands and placing a pox on both their houses. (1) Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, did take consulting work for a Ukrainian oil company, Burisma, that was under investigation by a Ukrainian prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, for the work under the prior Russian-allied regime. This is where the true part of the Trump disinformation comes to an end. (2) The problem was that Shokin actively stood in the way of international investigations that the U.S. and other democratic reformers were pursuing. (3) Vice President Biden, U.S. diplomats, and our E.U. allies all called on the prosecutor to be fired so the corrupt oligarchs could be investigated MORE AGGRESSIVELY. This includes the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine calling out by name Mykola Zlochevsky, the oligarch who ran the company Hunter Biden worked for as someone this prosecutor was letting off the hook. (4) Donald Trump was allegedly pressuring the Ukrainian government to investigate a domestic political foe on a bogus conspiracy for personal gain. Joe Biden was pressuring the Ukrainian government to root out corruption in their own country and bring about democratic reforms. (5) For the kids in the back: PRESSURING A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT TO INTERFERE ON YOUR BEHALF IN DOMESTIC ELECTIONS = VERY BAD. PRESSURING A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT TO INVESTIGATE CROOKS = GOOD thebulwark.com/truth-lies-and-the-nonsense-trump-biden-ukraine-false-equivalency/
