I sign for one of the guys I work for all the time. I have his signature saved and just insert in whatever document needs it. I always run it by him of course.
Am I the only one who doesn't sign the back of checks when depositing? 25+ years ago when I worked in 2-3 different banks each had a "for deposit only" stamp to use if a check wasn't endorsed on the back. I've never signed a check for deposit-ever!

I never deposit checks in person any more - it is always on my phone.

I do for my mom and husband all the time. Mom likes to leave meals early to smoke so she leaves me her card to deal with. And when using a debit card for our (joint) account. But I don’t even try and make it look like their signatures, I just sign their name.

I sign DH's name all the time, but I have a Power of Attorney (and he has one on me). I've often said that if he ever signed a check himself, the bank would probably think that was the forgery. The only time I did it as a kid was to forge mom's name on a note for my little sister. It was a valid reason, she just forgot to get a note before we got on the bus. Got busted on that one and never tried it again.

When my old boss moved up north he made all these promises about driving down to the office 3x a week. And he didn't. So then stuff didn't go out - he authorized me to sign his name on everything.
I was a notary (finally quit) and he told me to notarize his client's signature. He wasn't there and when she came in the office it was very uncomfortable. I refused to sign (she was having her mom change banking and her trust to eliminate her brother and Mom obviously had no idea what was going on). So that was a fun conversation as she tried to call my boss on one line and I called him on the other and said "don't even try with me"

No.
If I’ve needed to deposit for someone else, I’ve had power of attorney and signed my own name/by power of attorney/and then printed their name.
I do remember my mom used to sign for her husband so much, that once he signed his own check, and the bank called because it was different! 😳

I've never signed a check for deposit-ever! My bank(s) won't let me deposit checks that aren't endorsed. They get spit back out of the ATM. I used to sign my mom's name all the time, with her knowledge, for credit card purchases. My sister, mom and myself all have the same first initial (and the same last name at the time), so my sister and I would both sign "First Initial, Last Name". I remember signing at Nordstrom, The Bon, JC Penney, and the gas station all the time. My best friend from Kinder-12th grade and I were just talking about this...our parents would drop us off at the bus station and we'd ride into downtown Seattle or the big mall nearby and go shopping by ourselves. We started going when we were 12 years old. Ahhh...the 80's.

I sign my husband's name to stuff quite a bit. It's just easier if I'm taking care of things during the day to get it done while I'm thinking about it, instead of having to wait until he gets home from work. I have a bad habit of losing or forgetting things if I put them aside to deal with later. Lately I've signed my mom's name a few times. That's the first time in a LONG time. My son bought my dad's car. It was only 4 months old when my dad passed, and a lease, and the process was a giant pain in the ass. Way more complicated than I imagined it would be, or than it should have been. It took several months in all to complete the paperwork, and we're in separate states. I wasn't mailing things back and forth for a signature that I can do that looks just like the real one.

They just stamped them for me, and in my account it went.

In high school, oh yeah. My mom had a neat signature that was easy for me to fake. Today, as an adult, no. Same here, for both. In HS I signed forms for myself, my brother, and one particular friend whose mom also had an easy signature (that one was only one time, though). Usually these were the permission forms for ski club that we had to have signed each and every week on ski day - no form, no travel that week. My mom (& friend's mom) worked during the day so if we forgot our ski club forms, there was no other choice ('cuz of course we weren't going to skip ski club, LOL). The bus left right after school so there was no time to go home and come back with signed form...

I write my initials under anything I sign in someone else's name.
However, for a check made out to Dh, I just write For Deposit Only and our account number to endorse it.

My mom had me start writing my own notes in HS, so she didn't have to bother. I forged my sisters signature when she was in prison for felony child abuse, and my niece turned 18. She was eligible for a fund my parents set up, with her mothers signature. My niece lived with me since she was 9, fuck a couple chromosomes.

No, but I REALLY wanted to. Long story short...my dad and step-mom were in the middle of a divorce. He changed his will and received the paperwork to sign on Wednesday. He died (unexpectedly) on Thursday with the papers unsigned. It’s not just about the $, but SO much would have been simpler had those papers been signed before he died. My sister and I both half-joke that we should have just forged his signature. (We didn’t, and wouldn’t have, but can’t help thinking about it!)

Yes for the CEO of our company because he tells me to. However the most bizarre time that I forged a signature was when we bought a car from an auction. The owner of the car was dead. His son who was POA and executor signed the title. We took it to the DMV to have to title changed into our names. The clerk would not take it because "the owner" didn't sign it. I reiterated that the owner was dead and the POA and executor of the estate had signed the title. Nope! She insisted on the owners signature. So I went out of the building, found a pen in the car and forged the dead owners name. Went right back in and she processed it. CRAZY!!!

I've never signed a check for deposit-ever! For the most part, if one of us has a check made out to the other one, we just write For Deposit Only on the back and deposit it. The bank will stamp it if it’s not signed, unless it’s a government check or one from an insurance claim, those need to be actually signed. Also, I send out thank you notes from DH’s business to his clients, and I sign his name to all of those since he is the point of contact that they know. But I don’t really think of that as forgery, LOL.
