#5 Anne of Green Gables said "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers"
Scrap your October photos. 1 point for October 2019 photos, 2 points for October photos from previous years!
#6 The leaves don't change where I live but I love fall colours anyway - make a card, layout, or project using some combination of brown, green, orange, yellow, or red (neutral colours - white/black/grey - are fine to add)
#7 Got lots of photos to scrap? 1pt per photo scrapped - so a layout with 3 photos = 3pts, a layout with 1 photo = 1pt and so on

#13 KITTED UP? Use up your page kits or that club kit, finish it off, get it done! #14 Button it Up! As the fall weather kicks in use buttons on your page or project. If you add fiber or thread to buttons that have holes, give yourself a bonus point, in my opinion the holes are there for a reason! #15 All those pretty patterns! Use three OR more different patterned papers on your layout or project. Bonus point if you use five or more. Three points per project if there is no solid cardstock #16 Solids only, keep it clean and simple. Use only solid colored cardstock on your project, as many colors as you like. #17 Vegas Baby! What happens in Vegas stay in Vegas . . . unless it makes it to your scrapbook page. (This is so I scrap some photos of my class reunion that is happening this weekend in Las Vegas.) If you don't have Vegas photos, make your project about a vacation you have taken in the last 6 months. #18 Shapes galore! Use a shape other than a square or rectangle. Bonus points if you use more than one on your project. For example 2 circles = 2 points, 3 circles = 3 points and so on.

#19 Zodiac - The two zodiac signs associated with October are Libra (The Scales) and Scorpio (The Scorpion). Include some kind of embellishment or photo or story that relates to either of these symbols on your card or layout. Bonus 5 points if your birthday is in October and you do a layout about your star sign and what it says about you.
#20 Birthstone - The birthstones for October are OPAL and TOURMALINE. Take a point if you include elements or papers that are similar to opal (I'm thinking MULTI-COLOUR / WATERCOLOUR) or predominantly PINK like tourmaline. Bonus point if your birthday is in October, and bonus 5 points if your LO is about YOU!
#21 Round Up - Use rounded corners on photos or background elements.
#22 Wooden It Be Nice - Use wood or wood veneer embellishments, or wood patterned paper
#23 Cluster Fun - Make a cluster using at least 3 elements. Take a point for each cluster of three elements. Bonus point for each cluster if they are three different items (eg. flower, paint, button).
#24 Tie Me Up - Use ribbon, string, twine, yarn or rope on your project. Bonus point if you tie a knot or a bow.

50 Shades of AussieMeg #25 Digital Love | One point for a digital or hybrid project. #26 All Things Disney | Document anything Disney (parks, movies, collectibles, etc.). #27 Don't Be SAD | October marks the beginning of seasonal affective disorder for the Northern Hemisphere folks. Document something to do with beating the seasonal blues: supplements and/or dietary changes, healthy habits (sleeping, resting), self-care of all sorts (including scrapbooking, of course), etc. #28 Pen & Tell It | With all the pretty supplies and colourful photos, the written part of recording our memories is sometimes cast aside. Pen down your memories, your thoughts, your impressions: 1 point per 10 words of journaling (must be your own). #29 Morticia | During this month of all things spooky and kooky, do Morticia Addams proud by making a LO that's predominantly black, white and red. Bonus 5 points if you use black & white photos only for your project. #30 8ctober | From 'octo', 8 in Latin as it was the eighth month of the Roman calendar. Claim a point for exactly 8 of something on your project (sequins, die-cuts, pattern papers, staples, cardstock papers, and so on). One point available per something so if you do 8 sequins + 8 pattern papers, that would be 2 points.

#37 I Get Misty - one point for each color mist you use on your layout. Be it by a spray, wash of color or dribbles. Bust out the bottles, shake 'em up and put them to use! #38 Stitch It Up - Sew on your layout, with a machine or by hand. Five points for breaking out the machine and sewing..... and TEN points if you hand stich some sort of element, like embroidered flower. This takes more time so take the ten points for the effort #39 Metallica - use some of that old Making Memories metals embellishments on your layout. One point for each little element of metal on your layout. Letters, tag frames, you name it. Use up some of that old stash and make it look new again #40 Yvonne's Done to Death Apple Bread challenge - Okay, had to throw this in here . Do a layout that has an Apple theme to it. Be it apple picking, baking something apple related, or has apples in it. One point for every apple you manage to get in on the layout. A picture of apples, 1 point, an embellishment of an apple, 1 point. Printed paper with apples? Count out every apple and tally it up!

First time I have thrown out challenges, so tell me if I do it wrong. #43 - Homecoming - It is homecoming season for my high school kid, so I would like to see Homecoming layouts (or cards, or projects). It could be homecoming football games or homecoming dances. I also live in a military town and there are a lot of homecoming of deployed military members. Or even just a love of your home works for me. One point and although I don't live in Texas where they do the big homecoming mums, if you make them or do a layout with a picture of those giant homecoming mums, that is worth a bonus point. #44 - World Series of XXX - It is World Series time and our tv is focused on that. This challenge is about being the best of the best and about baseball. So do a layout about any kind of championship - it could be a sporting event, but it could be a different activity like chess or anything about winning. Or just stick to baseball, any baseball counts. #45 - Wedding - Dictionary gave me this idea when she said she was going to a wedding. I say we scrap those weddings! #46 - Unbe"leaf"able - include leaves on your layout - 1-3 leaves = 1 point, 4-7 leaves = 2 point, 8+ leaves = 3 points #47 - Gifts - I am thinking about starting on some Christmas gifts - complete something that will be a gift (not a card only since I think there are a lot of card points this month, but some other gift you intend to give to someone) #48 - Birthday - My daughter's birthday is this month so do a birthday layout. #49 - Wheelie - Do a layout about cars, trucks, and/or driving.

Challenge #50: Pick One Use One Count one. Go to THIS challenge thread and name an item in your stash you want to use this month. Then every time you use that item give yourself ONE POINT. So if you choose brads and use 10 brads on one project, that is a cool ten points!

#54 Early December Prep | Get ready nice and early to help yourself with your December documenting. Whether you're doing a Journal Your Christmas or December Daily project, "just" some LOs, a digital photo book, etc., it's all good for this challenge. Place an order for or buy some holiday supplies this month for 1 point. Dig some older stuff out of your stash to use this December for 1 point. Make a list of all the events and things you already know you'll be documenting for 1 point. Earn a bonus point if you share a photo in the challenge thread for each of these things (typing out your list is fine). Put together your holiday kit (for any type of documenting) for 5 points and more. Bonus points available for mini challenges in the thread so don't hesitate to join!

gramma and Linda , I have been able to guess the age of my paper if I have the name of the paper. I google it and usually there will be a post about it when it was brand new. Sometimes the branding strip will also have a date in teeny numbers. Other than that, I just have to guess. Most of my papers are old because I load up on the local warehouse sales and they sell the old product.

Linda and grammaIf you know a paper is old but can't otherwise identify it, lets go with the "2009-2013" range as a happy medium. My focus of this challenge is to encourage peas to dig into our stashes of papers we bought years ago and are trying to remember to go back to because they are still beautiful!
