I feel like all my makes have turned out badly lately, maybe it's time to call it a day? Just take a time out. That's what I finally did this weekend. I ended up scrapbooking four layouts instead of doing yarn crafts. I washed my it's shawl good cardigan on delicate and it shrunk up like crazy. I've got it all pinned out hoping I can salvage. And I've got one last square with puff stitches left. The scrapbooking was a lovely distraction.

I feel like all my makes have turned out badly lately, maybe it's time to call it a day? Nope. You just need a holiday. Go and learn how to pick pumpkins, or plough a field, or throw pots instead? I'll teach you how to recycle candles if you like?

lainey when was the last time you just sat and breathed? You need to take time to look after yourself. Crafting is normally a stress buster but sometimes even thatās too much and thatās ok. Do what you feel like when you feel like it. There are no rules. xx

My first post in a while. I really have done nothing in my studio since July because of my health issues right now. I did do these yesterday as samples for a class I am teaching in November at my church. These are super tiny but I wanted the women to see the paint colors they can choose. I personally don't like the brown but someone might really like that. Their pumpkins they will paint will be about 6". A very nice size to do and reuse each year. My class is called "Perpetual Pumpkins."

OK CAL ladies, I am surrendering. I can NOT keep up. So I am going to wait to do the bonus squares at the end. I am getting too hard on myself for falling behind every week. I still have one square left of last week, never did the bonus squares for the week before... I ended up bring my yarn/needle with me to work today to work on. Any spare time I have I am crocheting, which I am loving, I really am. But something has to give a bit. I have a convention next month for Stampin' Up. I am a demo, used to have a great business, then the kiddo came along. I am struggling to remain active. But I need to create 12 table gifts, swaps, and something special for my team. Less than a month left. So I think weekends will be stamping.
By not pressuring myself to get done w/the bonus patterns each week that will free up a bit of time. Also will be less anxiety inducing lol

I wish I had an extra pumpkin to do a large pumpkin sample but the craft store had run out already for the season. I only have enough for my participants (24).

The crochet police wonāt give you a black mark for not keeping up, everyone goes at their own pace. I have never been able to keep up with the whizz kids and the good thing about that is I get to benefit from their remarks as to what has worked well, whatās hard, and pick up any suggestions they make to make it easier. Good luck with your other makes and return to the CAL when you feel ready.

Don't be so hard on yourself tyra . I can never keep up with a CAL either. I am still one wheat square down. And I've got two sunshine ones done. It will all come together. The point is to enjoy the project. It's not about the finished product but about the process of making it. It will get done when it gets done.

There was no chance of catching up but it also meant any issues that others came across were sorted out by the time I reached that point. Enjoy the process at your own pace

@megmc, I really don't like the brown one at all! See, that's why I did it because different tastes for different folks. Hopefully everyone will have fun doing them. That's what it's about. It has to be able to be done from start to finish within 45 minutes AND be able to be done by anyone (non-crafters alike).

I'm like, what the what? This is why I try to stay away from the groups while doing these projects. Because in 36 hours from pattern release some lady is done already. I don't need that kind of pressure. LOL!

I did get 3 done while watching the baseball game last night, but that is it. I, personally, would have put them in week 2 and bumped the puff and cluster squares each back a week. tyra, you should definitely go at your own pace. Crochet should be enjoyable and/or therapeutic- a stress reducer - not a stress inducer! The yarn and the patterns arenāt going anywhere - they will be just as fresh/good next month or even next year. Please donāt pressure yourself! It sounds like youāve got a lot on your plate for Stampinā Up. The CAL will be there when you have more time again.

I finished the first square for this week today. It actually went fairly quickly. I was working from home today, so worked on a bit while on a conference call lol I saw this morning on the FB group that some one made the leaves solid. I really liked that as well so will be doing my squares like that.

Slow month for crafting for me after getting new PC and all that entails.
So here is a rag doll (her face isn`t so scary as in the pic I promise) and made a small hand sewn padded case for 7" tablet.

Iāve been working on this quilt for ages and I donāt like it. Iāve already sewn more than half the blocks together into groups of four, so I really donāt want to take them apart to add anything else. Iām seriously considering giving up quilting because I never like anything I make, and I havenāt actually finished anything in more than three years. And it just feels like another failure/burden ā I always want to make time for quilting and when I do the outcome is dismal.

ashley I really like it. A very vintage feel to it. But I understand not liking something you make. Sometimes I have great expectations. And then I do something and I'm like meh. Not really impressed with myself. I had an experience with a shawl. I really wanted a thick warm one to keep on my chair at work. I made it and just was not thrilled. So I was showing it to my sister and she loved it. I gave it to her. She wears it constantly. Maybe it might make a wonderful gift for someone?
