I love black kitties! (Currently we have 3 tabbies... one day Iβll have my army of darkness kitties) π₯° I rescues a litter of three kittens, two tabbies and one black kitty. Well, she appears to be all black, but in certain light you can see her βMβ on her forehead and some muted stripes on her back that are a tiny bit different in color and match her tabby siblings. Out of the three of them, she has the absolute best personality. She is very verbal and interactive with people and my little dog. When I went to look at cats, I had intended to adopt one older cat. Then we saw the two tabby kittens and asked to see them. I decided to revise my original plans to go ahead and get two kittens. Then the girl brought in the tiny black kitten. I didnβt realize that the little black kitty was in with them because she was hidden. She explained that they were all from the same mother and rescued at a couple of weeks old. While standing there and trying to decide which two to get, the black kitten climbed her way up my pants leg and shirt to my chin. She put one paw on either side of my face and began to lick my chin while purring up a storm. How could I say no to her? My fiancΓ© was with me and was sitting on the floor with the two tabbies, completely infatuated with them already. He wanted to get all three kittens. I caved and agreed And have never regretted the decision. They are now 12 years old and the black kitty is as playful and loving as she was as a kitten. Is it true that black cats all have a more outgoing personality like this? Iβve heard this several times over the years. Thank you for opening your home to rescuing him. How old is your other cat and what was the introduction like? I hope you get as much enjoyment as I have done with my cats.

Congratulations on your new sweet baby!
I love black cats too! Well, let's get real-I love all cats. I had a black cat years ago I named Salem. She was such a wonderful cat.
I wish you many years of happiness with your new kitten.

We had a black, rescue kitty. Perry the Pussy. He came with the name and I thought it was hysterical to listen to my kids tell others his name. He loved to shower with us and always joined guests in the bathroom hoping they would turn on the tub water for him. The guy who tiled our kitchen said it was going to take a few extra days because PtP wouldn't leave him alone. Perry always gave guests butt rubs when they walked in the door (he came declawed). He was delightful.

We have an adopted black kitty, Layla who is sweet as sugar but about as dumb. She's a character! The worst thing about the black kitties is taking their photos with a flash - the good thing is all the rest of it! Congrats!

Heβs adorable! He looks a lot like my black cat Xena. Xena was a barn cat who came to live with us for about 13 years. She would wake me up every morning by tapping my face with her paw. If that didnβt work she would climb up on my chest and lay there, purring loudly until I got up and fed her lol.
Black cats are special!

So handsome! Thank you for being a shelter adopter, especially of a black cat. I think they are beautiful, but they have very low adoption rates. I love his name too! I had no idea black kitties had a harder time being adopted.

Awwww... he is beautiful! I am so jealous, I miss having cats. The last one passed last year, then I got allergy tested a few months ago. Severely allergic to cats. Explains the issues I have had the past 5 or so years lol Enjoy and make sure to share lots of pictures!

My black shelter kitty is named BooBoo. I love him. Only bad thing is he knows how to unlock the front door. LOL Cindy I have a black tuxedo kitty who can open doors too! She has figured out how to hang on the doorknob *just so* to make them open. She's scary smart...definitely the smartest cat we've ever had. And very outoging, for a cat. She wants to be where people are at all times.
