Keep your ears open for reports from the hearing today.. I think it was Swalwell came out of the room and stated that there was TV screen in the room showing Mulvaney, several of the republicans at there with their mouths hanging open at Mulvaney's statements!

Trump is making a mockery of your entire system of government. It’s astounding to me that one man can wield so much power to cause so much chaos. I'm fairly certain it would astound the founding fathers, too, since this is pretty much EVERYTHING they didn't WANT to happen, all rolled into one horrible presidency. This kind of behavior is the reason we fought a revolutionary war, for gosh sakes. ETA: and everything they TRIED to foresee in the checks and balances they wrote into the Constitution- this is the REASON they wrote the process of impeachment and emoluments restrictions into the document. Too bad Trump takes a dump on it daily. And the GOP stands around and admires it.

They are aggressively flouting violating the emoluments clauses. They don't give a fuck. They are just trying to normalize it.

This administration has driven me to listen to punk rock instead of NPR in the morning. I just can’t take the news any more and I need some music that fits my angry mood.

I hear ya-- for me, it's Marilyn Manson. I never thought I would think that sort of angry music was appropriate for anything, but sometimes it is.

How many of them have gone on the record repeating the WH talking point "there was no quid pro quo" to sit there and watch Mulvaney say there was quid pro quo "get over it". HAHAHA

How much do you think he's going to submit for "necessary" remodeling.
That's what this is about - bilking the AMERICAN TAXPAYER for his shoddy, buggy, money-losing resort and making US pay for the privilege of cleaning it up so he can rake in the profits.
SOCIALIZE THE COSTS, PRIVATIZE THE PROFITS

Yeah, right: 90+ F temps and 60%+ humidity?!? And a resort that the PRESIDENT OWNS?!?!? And that was the BEST you could find? Where else were you looking, if that was the BEST choice?!? give me a break. Camp David? A resort in the Adirondacks? ANYWHERE ELSE THAT THE PRESIDENT DOESN'T OWN, MAYBE?!?!? unfortunately, I also think I heard that the location is something the President gets to choose. So I'm not sure if there is any way it can be 'unchosen' ... but I sure hope so.

GOP 101WE, the taxpayers, retro fitted his private jet after he was elected president, it needed work and WE had to make it safe for him to fly on. Keep in mind the RNC et al have multi millions of dollars and still do not pay their bills, security for all his rallies etc.

security for all his rallies etc. don't forget about the inauguration expenses and 'missing' $$$... it started right at the beginning, if not before (there's probably plenty of unpaid bills from his campaigning.)

Mulvaney DID tell a lie yesterday at his presser! He said the WH sent out teams to 12 locations in 10 states to look at the properties for the G-7! Sort of, but Doral was NOT on the original list!!! When the info was sent out to a team, (not sure how they were told), they were very surprised to have to look there.......... So there, liar liar pants on fire!!

other countries are seeing the shitshow, that our country has turned into, and are commenting on it-- below is a bit from a reuters article about this decision:
"The news spread quickly.
On the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, Ghana’s finance minister quipped, “Could you imagine if the president of Ghana did something like that? It would not go down well.”
U.S. President Donald Trump listens during a joint news conference with Italy's President Sergio Mattarella in the East Room of the White House in Washington, U.S., October 16, 2019. REUTERS/Jonathan Ernst Kenneth Ofori-Atta told Reuters, “We don’t have a wealthy president, so that would not happen. We have a state facility in the mountains. That’s where something like that would be.”

Does he not fly on Airforce One? Why would the taxpayers have to fix his private jet? If he is flying on US business, he can use Airforce One. What am I missing here???

It would not go down well.” Like I have asked a million times (at least) since Trump became president--"Can you imagine if Obama had done that??" People would have lost their shit, declared it was proof he was the anti-Christ who would soon be implementing Marshall Law so he would never have to leave office and then, they would have impeached his ass.

Jimmy Carter is probably thinking...damn. My poor peanut farm. Ok that made me snort. I don’t think it’s funny, I think it’s sad. But I do get what you mean. Jimmy Carter is too kind a man to mention it. But do any of y’all remember the Republicans getting cranky about ‘Billy beer’ profiting off being owned by the president brother? It’s not like jimmy served it at the White house regularly or anything. 🙄
