I went to Disneyland last week and from that night on, I've had the flu. At least I got to enjoy the Halloween decor at the park before the ton of bricks hit me.

Im headed to Colorado Springs in the am with some girlfriends to celebrate my 40th birthday (early). Im really dreading this trip and honestly, just want the weekend over. mom .....I meant to ask you this a few days ago--- since you were dreading it, did you consider cancelling? Also, did it turn out as badly as you dreaded? I hope not.

We are going to a football game Friday night and cheer competition Saturday morning. I’m hoping we go to the local amusement park for their Halloween weekend deal on Sunday. That or maybe a trunk or treat?
I also won a pack of cookies to decorate from a local bakery, so we will probably do those with the kids sometime this weekend. I want to make a pot of chili too!

I ended up going, and while it wasn't as bad as I feared it to be, this trip really cleared my head about continuing our friendship. Dont get me wrong - we had fun. and I don't wish the other ladies anything bad - but I think its time for me to explore other friendships.

My 22-year-old DD lives locally to Disneyland and just bought her self a pass. She probably goes four times a year so figures it will be worth it. She hopes to go before Halloween.

I have a food truck meet up event going on Friday afternoon that benefits the local school’s PTA. I will then work on Saturday and it will probably be crazy busy with people buying stuff for Halloween parties. Then on Sunday, weather permitting, I plan to meet friends for breakfast and then explore a local trails system. On Monday, I am going to my first Steeler home game. Super excited about that. I then have something planned each night next week except Wednesday. After the Steeler game, plans include a get together at a local brewery and a candle making class on Tuesday then I’ll probably go bowling with a league on Thursday night to have something to do on Halloween and then Friday night I plan a meet up dinner/dance event.

We have passes too. We go at least 5 times a year. We've gone twice this Halloween. once during Xmas and then twice in spring before the kids get out of school, the crowds get too bad and it gets too hot.

My birthday is the 29th. My daughter is having a Halloween party/birthday party Saturday. We're all going in costume and no-one knows what the others will be. I'm kind of excited about it!

Saturday was PERFECT, gorgeous Fall weather, so we took our doggies to the park. They're both elderly and have serious arthritis, so it's sad that they can't take the walks they used to, BUT they still get so excited to go anywhere, and they also love to meet new people I also did some Halloween decorating. Those things lifted my spirits SO much after my friends canceled plans at the last minute (for a verrrry weird, stupid reason!) I LOVE Halloween and Fall! I'm hoping peAps will post piks of costumes/ other fun stuff they're up to . This is an old photo of our babies in their Texas A & M outfits. I'm posting it just for giggles, even though it has NOTHING to do with this weekend.

This weekend flew by. I had to work Friday and Saturday so I did a costume party, a pre-hysterectomy 'see you later ovulator' party and a cider and sweaters themed party. Today, I had meditation at 10, then a lowes run, grocery run, we made comfort food and then napped and watched a movie.

hysterectomy ' see you later ovulator' party OMG---that is SO clever and cute !!!!!!! Did anyone dress up as a uterus, cervix, ovary, etc? Or even better--an alligator with a hysterectomy scar---? (kidding)

Im sorry. Its a hard place to be in but it has been somewhat freeing that I don't have to continue things anymore.

yes!! DD turns 19 on halloween (legal drinking age in ontario!). younger bros have their costumes and still want to TOT (12 and 14). i have no problem with it - 14 year old is almost 6 feet tall but has a full joker costume and has been perfecting his mouth scars and makeup. i told both of them to be polite and watch out for little ones. if i hear they have elbowed some tiny princess out of the way to get up the walkway first, i will kick.their.asses. and then film it and post it on their social media. okay, not that last part but... not sure how many kids we will get. we are just around the corner from our old house - but it's a busier street with streetcars. most people with little ones stay in the less traffic-heavy areas. our old house is sold and empty but doesn't close til mid-november so thinking we might go to the old house to hand out candy. offered DD to have a handful of friends over a bit later to celebrate her big day at the house. furniture is out and she is pretty responsible so hoping i don't regret it. yikes!!
