When I get someone else’s mail or package, I just drop it off at the right address. It never occurred to me to try to get them to come pick it up, and if it did, I wouldn’t think posting “come and get it” on Next Door was the way to go. But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with asking them to come get it, either. But usually I wouldn’t know how to reach them. And again, not Next Door. I would and have done this with packages left on my door. The street behind us has a similar name and stuff gets messed up. I have three minutes in my day and walk every day, so for me, this would be a no brainer. I try to take the Golden Rule as a good rule to live by. Now if I had issues with the neighbors, I would probably just let the post lady know.

If our packages go missing they are usually at one of three places. One person delivers them as soon as she notices. One person is hit or miss as they travel frequently and whoever takes in their stuff doesn't actually look at what they are putting in their house (I think they had my mail order meds for a month, then visited two other neighbors with the same first name as me and eventually made it to me.
We always redeliver if something is misrouted to us (assuming we know where it is in the neighborhood). If it's just somewhere in the city, I've called shippers to pick up and redeliver.

I always walk it over unless it’s genuinely very far. The big package carriers generally don’t make too many mistakes, but USPS frequently does.
I don’t even ring the bell, I just leave it on their doorstep, hopefully hiding it from view of the street to save them from porch pirates.

You don't know how heavy or large the package is. Also, I don't belong to ND because of a jackass admin who thinks he is a god. Posting it there isn't a good idea.
