Yay! Glad we have such strong interest and people have shared so many great organizations.
Plan remains to start with our first organization on Dec 1. Bumping to top in case anyone else has a charity to share.

I just made a small donation to the 100 Club bc of scrappinspidey's thread. They would be a great organization to give to as well.

Perhaps the thread to donate to Pea teachers could be bumped back up, or a new one started. Now that school is in full swing, I bet there are supplies that need to be replenished or new things needed.

This is a really good idea The more I think about it, while I love love love this whole idea, I really don’t want to be added to 25 different mailing lists I can never get off of. I’d like to donate to a pea teacher.

That’s fair, and something I had not thought of. Maybe we could modify it? Have a list of 25 different charities and those who want to participate can choose to send all of their budget for this project to one of them? Let’s say we had 100 peas each donating $25 or more spread between 25 charities, that’s $2500 in giving.

I like the original idea, but I think every day is too much. I would do a handful during the month of December. No offense to pea teachers but I would rather donate to a charity - I'm sure if you ask 5 peas you'll get 5 opinions on this, and whatever you decide it's very positive

My heart just grew two sizes, @merge. I love this so much. We do dollar donations at church all the time and you’d be surprised how much can be raised just a dollar at a time for what moves your heart. I have been a member of this board for 15 years and I can’t count the times I’ve mentioned the animal shelter where Quinn and I have volunteered since she has been three years old. I could go on and on about this place and tell story after heartwarming story of the animals that have been saved here. But mostly how this tiny shelter and the people who give their lives there have impacted the life of my daughter. I also know that this is one of thousands of well deserving shelters across the United States, but if you would consider PAWS Adoption Center, I would be so grateful. PAWS Adoption Center@j u l e e, we are most likely neighbors. I live in the community where PAWS is located. I gave them some very expensive specialty dog food when my fur baby passed away a few years ago. They kept telling me “This is really expensive food. Thank you so much. “

I'd like to point out that not all charities add you to a mailing list. 😊 I always get added to mailing lists. One solution is to give a fake email address...Or, have an email account that's just for online stuff. I keep a Hotmail email for just that purpose. That way my real email remains basically spam free, and I check the Hotmail one every once in awhile when I feel like it.

I'd love to add to the organization most important to me currently: You give directly to Personal In through this donation page and can chose to not have them contact you again. You can give in someone's name.
Personal Ink provides free mastectomy tattoos to those who've had breast cancer and surgeries for it. We have lots of people that donate time/products and shops. The money used is to get survivors to shops, goodie bags, food while at the shop...
It's a place where a woman who has ugly scars that prevent her from looking in the mirror or showing others receives a work of art that makes them proud of their chest/abdomen area again.

I'm in also. I didn't check all but I'd like to suggest Alzheimer's Association. We also have a local service here - Safenet Services - assists women who've been affected by domestic violence. I'll see if I can find a website. safenetservices.org/donate-now/

I love this idea and would like to nominate Old Dog Haven whose mission is helping abandoned senior dogs receive the veterinary care they need and remain in a loving, permanent foster home for the remainder of their lives. olddoghaven.org/donate-now/

I recommend Esophageal Cancer Action Network, since my dad lost his battle with esophageal cancer over 32 years ago. You can learn more about the organization's mission & donate at ECAN.org. Thanks to everyone who considers & contributes to this cause.

I actually live about 25 minutes from the shelter, but it was the only place around that allowed a three year old to volunteer back when we first started working together there. Thank you for thinking of them with dog food! It is so appreciated! That was sweet of you to think of other dogs when you lost yours.
