Since I had to give up on finding them in person, I ordered the Crate Paper and Maggie Holmes books from Amazon. Love them! Thanks KS again, craftymom for the photos!

craftymom101 those pictures are lovely and so make me want those books. Do you mind taking a picture of the covers so I know what I am looking for and make sure to get the correct ones. One of these days... KikiPea they have been phasing/clearancing out a lot of inventory in the past few months. Someone asked and they stated they were getting rid of so much so they can dedicate that space to their own line of products now. Seems they may be going the way of Michaels in only carrying the Recollections brand. That’s a real bummer. I never find anything good at Michael’s. I’ve come out empty-handed the last 2 times I’ve been in there, and I hate the way they have the stickers now. Such a mess! It stinks that I don’t like Joann’ s since they actually carry a few good things. They are also too far away for me to go when I want something. Same here!y My daughter and I made the rounds yesterday and went to Joann, Michael's and HL. Only thing I bought were a few of the $4 albums from Michael's. I'm SO disappointed to hear that HL is going the way of Michael's. 🙁

A little background: My first grandson is currently 8 months old. I've scrapbooked for almost 25 years and my 27 yo daughter (grandson's mama) had always loved them and worked on her own for awhile when she was younger, but has shown little interest or has the time right now to scrapbook.
For his birthday, I'm tossing around the idea of making a "baby's first year" scrapbook as a birthday gift. Probably will be mostly pocket pages with traditional layouts throughout. Has anyone done this as a gift? Any other ideas, or suggestions? I want to make SOMETHING but I'm not sure if there's a better idea out there.
Any ideas and suggestions you can share wil be most appreciated!

Has anyone seen the new AC sticker books at Hobby Lobby, by chance? There's a couple I'm excited to get, and using a HL coupon would be cheaper than buying anywhere else.... I've actually only seen them online at scrapbook.com.
Also, has anyone purchased them yet? I'm interested to know what lines are represented in the books. It looks like the Crate Papaer one has at least a recent summer line that I can't remember off the top of my head, but I know I have several sheets of the paper from that line that I have set aside for Florida Keys pics. 😜

That looks like a bit of a pain....I might have to break down and just buy a die cutter....Can you recommend one? I have no idea which ones work better than others!

I've never purchased dies or a die cutting machine. I came across a really cool alpha stamp set and matching die set at Elle's Studio and I REEEEALLLLY want them! 😆. I'm wondering if I NEED some type of cutting machine to use the dies, or is there a way to use them without one, and without damaging the dies or my hands?

UGGGHHHHH........I have a couple of events that I really want to scrap: a girl's weekend with my daughter, sister, and 2 nieces, and my daughter's gender reveal party. I am so excited about the EVENTS, but not the photos. They are just ok pics. The color is way off, they were taken multiple cameras so none of them really match in tone. So much yellow tint, blech. I love the pictures themselves, love the events, but the flipping colors are throwing me off!!!
I thought about printing them in black and white, but that kinda defeats the purpose of the best (composed and story telling) photos of the gender reveal....kinda takes the "punch" away if you can't tell what color the confetti is, LMBO!!!!!
And the girl's weekend we had cruddy weather, and so many photos taken at night or inside without flash. They are all just blah looking. I guess I could see how those look in black and white.
I know i'll scrap them anyway, but I want to love the pages when I look at them and I just can't find the papers to jazz these pictures up.
What do yall do when the photos are of an event you want to scrap, but they aren't stellar pics?

Thanks for the thread. I'm seriously lacking in the mojo department. I have photos. Adhesives. Paper. Mojo? Nope. Never heard of her. A couple days ago I went through all my scraps. Tossed anything tiny. Anything I didn't love. Made dozens of journaling spots by stamping on the lighter colored papers.I I really thinned out the scraps. With it being December, I'd like to scrap last Christmas so that I can have a free mind for this Christmas. I have a 6x6 paper pad and several Christmas stamps to work with. I still need to order November's photos. DUDE.........ME TOO for the total lack of mojo.......I'm guessing it's blocked to keep my nose to Christmas and the upcoming baby shower I'm hosting in early January...but MAN I'm having withdrawals from scrapping, and need the break from holiday stuff! I forced myself to make a page the other day and I kept telling myself even if I hate it, I can reprint the pictures and I have PLENTY of paper and can re-do it another day. I did it. I hate it.

Woohoo! Blue is our favorite color! What a cute idea! DS 19 just about cleared the couch to get to her for a huge hug when he saw the blue confetti.....DD said his reaction almost made her cry, he was so excited!

"And so the adventure begins" For some reason this one really grabs me.....the ONLY reason I was hoping for a little granddaughter is because I was ready to retire from all of the dirt bikes, broken bones, and other boy craziness my sons gave me! Maybe I could work something along the lines of "The NEXT adventure begins"......"Let the new adventures begin"......hmmmm!!!!!!

Seems like these are the only kinds of posts I've been making lately! Today I'm working on photos from my daughter's gender reveal party. ( My first grandbaby is a boy!) and I have some precious pictures of her brothers hugging and congratulating her. The only thing that comes to mind is "brotherly love" but it just doesn't do it for me at all.....I'm in LOVE with these photos and want a special title for them. Any suggestions? Edit to add: for what it's worth, DD is 26, and her brothers are 23 and 19, and PUMPED that they're getting a nephew! They are younger brothers but not little.

I've seen and heard so many freaking cute titles for pages with selfies, and now that I have some I want to scrap, I can't remember any! Pics from a girl's weekend with my sister and adult nieces, and my adult dd. We have some fun pics that I want a fun title for and I'm having brain block! Some are pretty, by a river, some are ridiculous, when we were having spa night and all had masks on our faces. What can yall come up with for me??

side note question here.....how did you get genetic testing? Did you request it, or did your DR recommend? It's just a blood test, right?

Y'all have brought up some great points, and I do need to clarify that I keep them on my computer; I guess a better question is what do you use to edit, and how do you organize on your computer? DH has our computer backed up to an off site service so I'm not stressed about having my photos saved/stored somewhere else. I just have a mess of duplicates and "sometimes I can see that folder, sometimes I can't" problem that I'm overworked with and don't know how to sort and fix. Ugh. And also did I mention PS gives me hives?

I decided to choose some old collections that I loved working with so much and still love what I made and looking at them even though styles change. Dear Lizzy - Lucky Charm: I created some of my favorite things with this line. Studio Calico - Atlantic: one of my most favorite - papers are gorgeous! Studio Calico - Hey Day: made the sweetest mini album with this line that I still love! Amy Tangerine - Stitches: so loved the colors, papers and embellishments from this kit. Teresa Collins - Giving Thanks: made a pretty mini album and layouts with this line. Teresa Collins - Christmas Home Collections - made an album I love with this collection. I don’t buy Teresa Collins, Dear Lizzy, SC collections, or rarely Amy tangerine anymore either - but years ago.... I loved their stuff. 😊 justlisa7, I LOVE your name, btw! I think you hit the nail on the head....I think that's how I gauge a collection or papers, as well. If it was fun/easy for me to work with, and I still like the pages I've made with it.

I buy collections or pieces from them but I have no idea what the names of collections are. All I know is the names of the companies. I’m impressed with how many people know the collection names. I need to start paying more attention. The only reason I know these collection names is because I fell in love with them and had to have more, LOL! I don't know all the collections I have or who makes what for the most part, but the few that have really stuck with me and I love, I remember.
