I believe that they left themselves wiggle room in not making their statement an absolute—only because of the rapidness of what happening and they are trying to get information. It’s clear that the administration itself—meaning White House didn’t give a list however they cannot say with 100% certainty what someone in military or embassy might have had to provide for safe passage. I believe they were trying to be careful on what they said, no absolutes, they stated that the situation is fluid and ongoing, vs how the previous administration would make their claims as absolute only to find out they lied over and over.

I worked all day. As I said, you feel Biden’s intelligent. I feel he’s demonstrated the opposite. Gave list of Americans left behind to the Taliban. He left people he promised to save. That’s immoral. This was a debunked lie. It was thoroughly discussed and record set straight at today’s presser. No one knows of any list, no one has seen a list. In order for US to safely evacuate people who were on transport, they may have had to show ID/passport. However there has been no evidence of a “list” let alone a list of people “left behind”. That was a lie spread all over right wing entertainment/disinformation channels. It’s shameful that people like you keep spreading such awful lies. People spreading such lies put people in great danger.

[br The President of the United States is being told by someone else what to say, he is obeying that person and admitting publicly that he is doing so. Who is this person? It's not Jen Psaki. The fact that Biden is deferring to anyone else in the White House is alarming. Does no one else really not find this concerning? Instead you say the press secretary on West Wing told POTUS what to do & say so it's all good? Let's all have a giggle? Really? Your ignorance must be bliss. Merge’s west wing comment was a joke, most got it the second it was posted. And absolutely President should be taking and listening to advice from his staff. It’s not alarming, it’s smart. Why wouldn’t he listen to the subject matter experts? Look at what a disaster trump was—he didn’t listen to anyone and mucked up everything he was involved in.

Judge orders Ohio hospital to give Covid patient Ivermectin. Butler County judge ruled in favor of a woman last week who sought to force a hospital to administer Ivermectin — an animal dewormer that federal regulators have warned against using in COVID-19 patients — to her husband after several weeks in the ICU with the disease. Butler County Common Pleas Judge Gregory Howard ordered West Chester Hospital, part of the University of Cincinnati network, to treat Jeffrey Smith, 51, with Ivermectin. The order, filed Aug. 23, compels the hospital to provide Smith with 30mg of Ivermectin daily for three weeks. The drug was originally developed to deworm livestock animals before doctors began using it against parasitic diseases among humans. Several researchers won a Nobel Prize in 2015 for establishing its efficacy in humans. It's used to treat head lice, onchocerciasis (river blindness) and others. www.rawstory.com/judge-orders-hospital-to-treat-19-patient-with-ivermectin-despite-cdc-warnings/Great. Now judges are deciding health care.

You know what, I'm done being concerned if these people remove themselves from the gene pool. Let's get the kids of rational parents vaccinated and move on. Yep. Let their ignorance and idiocy do them in. I just wish they wouldn’t be able to be first in line to get a medical care, hospital bed, intubation, before those who have practiced safe measures-mask wearing, vaccines, social distancing… Not to mention all of our insurance rates are going to go up because of the idiots refusing preventative medicine.

Even the inlaws are lacking.... Go Lara ... President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law was confused when speaking to Fox News Sunday. While most cable news stations are focusing on Hurricane Ida making landfall, Fox is still absorbed with Afghanistan. She began by attacking President Joe Biden, who received the caskets at Dover. Ironically, she made the attack while demanding that the country be unified. When the hosts turned to Trump about Afghanistan, she(Lara) said that couldn't figure out why the United States would be coordinating with a terrorist group like the Taliban. The reason, of course, is that her father-in-law began working with the Taliban and made deals with them. Without such deals, the U.S. could have done anything they wanted while withdrawing troops. Trump set a secret meeting with the group, the New York Times described. ... *** It's uncleared how Lara Trump forgot these facts.www.rawstory.com/lara-trump-afghanistan-taliban-terrprism/They didn’t forget. They likely got $$$$$$$ from Taliban, Saudi etc to do what Trump did. And in true trumper fashion, they push the (false) narrative that someone else did it.

Thank you for your thoughts. Not how I see it. That’s the great thing about a free country. And there’s a huge gap in “living in a free country” and living in a world where Fox News and other conservative media constantly posts lies, inaccuracies and misinformation, leaving their followers to “not see” the accurate picture. It’s absolutely shameful to use the “free country” bit as conservatives have been doing the last few years. Freedom is NOT free from responsibility. Opinions are not facts, and these lying reporters, Fox entertainment channel (because in reality, and by their own lawyers admissions, they’re entertainers, not fact finding reporters) and lying republican congress people are so dangerous for our freedoms.

papercrafteradvocate not sure where your DH is, but MSNBC Allie Velshi is on in NOLA with a whole bunch of trucks surrounding him near a power station. Six hours after landfall IDA has dropped to cat #3.. They’re still driving… I don’t know yet where they’ll be meeting in NOLA to start their work. It’s like a 12-14 hr drive in good weather and they’re driving directing into the path of the storm. I should be hearing from him soon. When they were East Coast last week, I saw their company’s truck in a Weather Channel shot, but it wasn’t close enough to see who they were!

And as for the “list”. All most all presidents use a list prepared by their staff with ALL reporters in the presser listed (including Fox) the list only puts a number order as to who to call on in what order. Fox (doocey) lies by saying that they’re not on the list (they are) and as ANYONE WITH EYEBALLS AND EARS can see and hear, Fox News is asking questions at the press briefings, he (they) are being answered, and in true doocey disingenuous style, will start shouting out questions after the briefing is over and The President is walking away, only so they can claim that he (they) are not being answered. Fox lies. Doocey lies. Jen Psakai shut doocey down stat when he tried to make that claim at a recent presser. He was lying and she immediately called him out for it. And since YOU brought it up teach4u tell us how you felt and if you agree that trump rarely answered reporters, but instead mocked them, made fun of them, told them they were ugly/horrible/terrible and went on to never giving any coherent or direct answers.

and walking away? It's not a secret that there is little, if any , support of Trump here. I don't want to rehash your opinion on answers, comments, etc. I'm honestly wondering if you remember a President frequently telling the press they have a list of people they call on and that they aren't supposed to answer. I find it odd behavior. I find turning around and walking out puzzling. Again, I am not seeking to start an attack this guy/the other guy thread. What do you think of how the press/communication is handled? And if you feel it's appropriate to not answer to prevent a "gotcha" or combative exchange, can you explain why the same questions the press posed of Trump (would have), Biden doesn't answer? You did exactly what you claimed to not want others to do. The exchange happened (on/right up to) JULY 4th… President Biden, while he did say he didn’t want to answer yet another (3rd) question from one reporter, the reporter was able to ask his question and President Biden did answer it. He also stated after yet another reporter continued on the same path, that he did not want to talk about Afghanistan at that moment, that it was 4th if July and wanted to speak to the positives going on, and that he would answer their question later. So the only one in this thread that is doing the “only half the story” is YOU. You’re being disingenuous. Why is it so hard for republicans/conservatives to post the full story, the accurate context, the actual facts? ? And with your comparisons as to what Trump would have said—he did nothing but babble on incoherently, tell massive lies, tearing down and treating reporters horribly, brag about how only he could fix stuff (and he was the one fucking it all up). We actually get respectful, factual, clear press briefings now, so yes, it’s sooooooo much better.

I'm having a really rough time and I need some suggestions on how to deal with it. I'm an extrovert. I'm used to interacting with people everyday at work and I'm working from home all but 1 day a week. And when I'm there I love being there but I am pretty much working with 3 other people. Although I enjoy being there on days when I am. I have during covid turned to social media for interaction. Mostly Facebook and here. I get overwhelmed when there are a lot of posts here. So I check the dinner thread and the craft thread on the regular because I don't want to miss any of the conversation because I'm seriously craving conversation and human connection. But I can see how my social media usage is interfering with my concentration. How do you protect yourself from covid yet get the amount of interaction you need without the constant disruption that is social media? I've thought about taking a social media break. But I fear it because I cannot imagine the level of depression I might feel if I have to deal with being cut off from what little interaction I do have with people. So hit me with suggestions. What are some processes I can put in my life to get my fill of people without having to check my phone every half hour and disrupting the actual things I am doing all day. And yes, feel free to tell me just how bad for me the social media usage is. This post can totally be a discussion of that too. I find it interesting. I'm just having a harder time focusing on the tasks I need to accomplish because I'm so people deprived. I even invited my MIL and SIL to dinner last night just because I had tried to invite like 4 other people and all of them were busy (it was a good weekend to move college kids so many of our friends were doing that). I needed to see people that badly though. When I’m overwhelmed I walk. Spread a blanket in the yard and stare at the sky. Get out into nature. Or I’ll make our bed, pile up my pillows and get a throw blanket, a beverage, a book and I’ll either read, watch a movie, or iPad. I sometimes struggle being without adult communication (work is not the same because I pretty much work away from everyone else) I try calling my siblings, my adult nieces/nephews to chat or visit and they’re always too busy. I crave that relaxed, personal, more intimate connection. I usually end up outside, or crafting.

Having been on the receiving end of the help of these crews after H. Ike (no power for 2 weeks), I can tell you firsthand just how thankful the residents in these areas are for their assistance. Stephen Miller raising his voice on FOX claiming Biden is 'clically insane' for allowing 40 million pleople in. The former Trump adviser raised his voice as he talked about the people who are being evacuated from Afghanistan. "Have we forgotten so quickly the 9/11 terrorists were granted visas by our State Department?" he shouted. "Have we forgotten so quickly that all that blood was shed because we weren't able to secure our own immigration system? Now we're going to repeat these mistakes again? Miller then falsely suggested that Biden was allowing "every person in the world who is living under Islamic theocracy" to move to the United States."How is that safe for us?" he exclaimed. "But this open-ended obligation to take up every one of the 40 million people who would prefer to live here than under Sharia law is clinically insane! And we will rue the day that we made that decision." youtu.be/85xOHUlwXrISomeone needs to put Stevie boy on a plane to Afghanistan as a peace maker. 🙄🙄🙄

I watched that and thought that he was trying to control his temper. And I understood why. Doocy is the worst. Well if he needed to control his temper then maybe he shouldn’t have gone off script and stuck to the reporters he was ‘instructed’ to call on by whoever is actually in charge. I was surprised that he didn’t once again state that he was ‘going to get in trouble’ when he took a question from someone that wasn’t on his listed of approved reporters. And you didn’t say boo about trumps incoherent babbling!

I fail to see what was wrong. Doocy couldn’t or wouldn’t respond to the question. I guess that’s what happens when you’re a Fox attack dog with very little deep background knowledge on your topic. Typical Fox “reporter” come to a presser totally inept, void of facts, thinking they’re asking “the hard questions” but leave as foolish as they entered!
