At a school board meeting last night, parents were saying a lot of false things like masks not being part of PPE as well as some crazy stuff like referring to the 4th estate. One of them was masks causing tooth decay. Has anyone seen any actual peer reviewed studies proving this? A quick search on google just found a lot of speculation by dentists. If dentists are seeing more cavities, couldn’t that be a result of a lot of factors like kids missing cleanings during covid? Makes me wonder if the anti mask crowd is just trying to excuse their laziness in regards to proper/decent oral and personal hygiene and blame mask wearing for their lack of cleanliness!

I would agree with you on the asshole comment if this was a screen shot taken during his moment of silence for the fallen but it’s not. Sure it is an asshole comment!! Don jr took a photo that had zero to do with his comment snd spread it all over the internet, he lied. Knowingly lied. Pretty funny that you didn’t even notice, nor have a comment on the fact that it was trump jr circulating the photo with his caption of weakness and he was most definitely wrong and not even remotely close to truth or fact on the image. Typical of you—support a liar. Anything to “own those Libs” right? This photo was one of total exasperation during the response/question that President Biden was responding to Fox’s clown “reporter” Peter Doocey —the dude that Jen Psaki takes down with his inaccuracies on an almost daily basis. Doocey couldn’t even acknowledge a fact, when President Biden asked him directly.

Biden administration really didn’t have choice in this—following the “peace treaty” that the Orange cheeto put into place, decisions that really only advocated Taliban won’t attack US if US doesn’t attack Taliban, as well as the release of 5000 Taliban militants—all without participation with the Afghanistan government. Then cheeto DRASTICALLY REDUCES the number of US military in Afghanistan, agrees to get rest out by May 1, all the while the Taliban starts to take over —again without US pushing back because Orange cheeto tied the hands of the next administration. IF Biden administration would have decided to push back, then MORE US troops would have had to be (once again) deployed, as the number of troops that remained would not have likely had a chance, and it would have been an “act of war”, based on the Orange cheetos agreement with the Taliban. So tell me again, how is this Biden’s fault or doing? Given the administration he inherited and the policy/agreements they made, what should have Biden done? Our Allies knew/saw/experienced the clusterfuck Orange cheeto. HE weakened the USA. What could have been done differently is something that should be investigated. I can't read the article posted, but I assume that that was one of the questions Kissinger was asking. But here are some ideas I have: how about consulting your allies in November or even late January, rather than presenting them with a fait accompli in April. How about not abandoning Bagram at 3:00am without telling your allies, switching off the electricity alerting looters to the fact that the base was empty, and leaving 5000 prisoners, a lot of them Taliban, behind unguarded. Below are some of the reactions from your allies. The fact that they are criticing Biden's actions leads me to believe that there were other actions that could have been taken by the US, and that they would have taken other decisions in the same situation. apnews.com/article/joe-biden-europe-climate-change-kabul-84ee5e455a70def86647bbfd22bdfbd7foreignpolicy.com/2021/08/20/lessons-biden-afghanistan-withdrawal/www.news.com.au/world/north-america/us-politics/joe-biden-betrays-another-us-ally-as-he-leaves-afghanistan-to-be-conquered-by-the-taliban/news-story/847a3c8e9014861041d2b423b1aa9c2b?utm_source=SEM&utm_medium=PPC_SEM&utm_campaign={campaign}&gclid=CjwKCAjw95yJBhAgEiwAmRrutG_H1APOymxREInlq_qoMukA1I3ApZygu_7hbvVtdAY15D9lx0LxXBoCSQgQAvD_BwEwww.google.com/amp/s/amp.ft.com/content/3ea7e87e-ab3a-4e14-8396-8061420942b0www.google.com/amp/s/www.timesofisrael.com/us-allies-tear-into-biden-administration-over-afghanistan-debacle/amp/The US needs to stop looking at everything through a red team vs blue team lens. Stop shutting down discourse just because it's someone from the other side that is criticising your guy. Stop with the whataboutery before you destroy your country. And yes, that goes for both sides. What I’m saying is that while the Biden administration inherited the treat/agreements and is avoiding the loss of US life, what short of war (any push back against Taliban would certainly be construed as this). I’ll go read the links you have posted. Updated… Link #1 allies are correct, most of this was US doing—and the previous administration was the catalyst for what’s happening now. Trump administration opened the doors to Taliban taking over (and I’ll bet that he was handsomely rewarded $$$ for it). Trump tied the hands of any administration after his in ensuring that Taliban would be free to invade, did do without consideration of the Afghanistan government and sealed the deal that if US intervened or pushed back, we’d be at war. Link #2 decent representation and while any administration is open for criticism on any actions taken by said administration, at least they acknowledge that Biden wasn’t given too many options and were more accurate in unbiased reporting. Link #3 a horrible/terribly biased article where it’s provocatively written and missing both context and accuracy related to a proper timeline of events leading up to what us happening now. Link #4 pretty much the same response as for Link #1. If US pushed back on treaty made by trump, US would most likely be at war with Taliban on Afghanistan soil. Link #5 this article makes it clear that NATO is looking at the issue over time—2 decades. And in this article, with US keeping with the treaty made from previous administration, pulling out—the US allies followed suit and pulled out too. If the treaty wouldn’t have been honored, US would most likely be at war, forcing our allies to join in another “unwinnable” war.

And here we have another “armchair expert” who wasn’t in the room. And I’m not talking about Waldman. What amazes me is that he’s still alive. How old is the dude? While you may not like what he has to say, the reality is that your allies are losing faith in you and feel increasingly railroaded by your unilateral actions. Your actions here will no doubt have repercussions the next time you decide to go to war. It also hurts your and your allies abilities to engage civilians on the ground. Who would want to work with a foreign army if there's every chance you will be abandoned at any time. And, yes, this goes for both Trump and Biden's actions. It must really eat at the Republicans that after four years of total devastating incompetence by a Republican President the Democrats managed to elect a decent man doing a really decent job cleaning up the mess left by their guy. That he is showing compassion and empathy in the process that the other guy could never do. And thank you for sharing your petty little remark with us. It’s a perfect example of the bitterness Republicans must feel about now. Decent man doing a decent job? What the actual fuck. I'd bet my last dollar those that will be left behind enemy lines would disagree with you.
You should stick with lifting everyone else's opinions off of Twitter because your ignorance and stupidity really shows.

You are truly one sick fuck. Ah, your one of the 41% that thinks joe’s doing a fine job-figures. If you paid any attention about what’s happening over there you’d know beheadings and tortures are happening. Anyone that thinks joes doing just fine, had no choice but to stick with trumps plan even though dotard changed the date, and actually told US citizens to trust the Taliban is the sick fuck. Still higher than the approval rating of the Orange cheeto. 7-8 million more Americans voted for our current president too over the Orange yellow bellied idiot.

If the thought of their tortures and beheadings makes you smile and give a thumb's up, you're as sick as he is.
You mean just like the Orange cheeto did with the Kurds? He literally allowed them to be executed by Turkey and other forces by abandoning them pulling out US military, and to the surprise of our US military! The republican cult memory loss and their ability to ignore and rewrite history is just amazing.

This company always puts their money where their mouth is. For environmental reasons, I buy the vast majority of my clothes “pre-loved,” but I might just reward Patagonia by ordering something. Problem is they’re kinda’ pricey. (They do have a section on their website that features used Patagonia clothing. Or they did a couple years ago.) I did the same thing! I’ll support those who share values that support ALL humans in a kind way!

So unvaccinated students can’t attend school period but unvaccinated faculty and staff are only required to wear a mask and be tested weekly. If it’s mandatory it should apply to everyone on campus, not just students. news.virginia.edu/content/high-vaccination-rates-pave-way-students-moveUVA staff are expected to be vaccinated according to this article. The students were dis-enrolled because they hadn't responded to communication about their status, including providing exemption information. They can re-enroll if they provide the information. Stop saying things that aren't true. It's right there in the article. It isn't hard. Lindas does that quite often.

But carry on, DeSantis. You're killing your 2024 presidential hopes. Your whackery and buffoonery and kowtowing to the ignorant may play in FL, but the rest of the country will likely not buy. "Orlando officials are urging residents to reduce their water consumption amid efforts to divert liquid oxygen used for cleaning the water supply to hospitals for COVID-19 patients. Liquid oxygen has been in high demand as the city faces a surge of coronavirus patients, especially given the rapid spread of the Delta variant. As of Friday, the state reported a little more than 150,000 confirmed cases, surpassing 3 million confirmed coronavirus cases in the state. The Orlando Utilities Commission uses liquid oxygen to treat and remove hydrogen sulfide in water for drinking and other uses. "Demand for liquid oxygen is extremely high as the priority is to use it to save lives and to treat critically ill patients," Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said at a news conference Friday. "There are impacts to the supply that OUC normally receives."" www.businessinsider.com/orlando-limit-water-use-liquid-oxygen-water-supply-covid-patients-2021-8Nope, he doesn’t care about that, he’s getting lots of $$$$ from the folks that make experimental drugs for AFTER getting Covid so he’s good, he’s getting rich. Gen Milley just stated that there was no indication to him that there would be such a collapse. Maybe he should have paid more attention then instead of worrying that the military wasn’t ‘woke’ enough. Hypocrite much? Your Orange cheeto god always said he knew better than the generals. Maybe your orange cheeto god and savior shouldn’t have been making deals with the Taliban and Saudi. General Milley was absolutely 100% correct on his statements that you’re degenerating into being “woke”. He had the balls to stand up, speak the truth instead of following the Republican Party line of being ignorant, lying, racist, homophobic, xenophobic fools in order to kiss the ass of a dangerous idiot in office. And because you lack basic reading/understanding comprehension based on your comments of “paying attention”, there is a huge difference in not paying attention and not being provided with any intel that says otherwise, which is what he actually stated.

Dh and I were discussing this topic today and how all these "deals" were made when Trump was in office. Then he purposely held back intel during the transition. Could it be that all the intel they had pointed to the very thing that is happening now as the outcome? Could it be they purposely waited knowing this all would blow up in Biden's face...and possibly turn the tide back to the Republicans? There is not a doubt in my mind that Trump and ilk would use thousand upon thousands of Afghanis as pawns. Did they set him up? I mean there are just too many things that don't add up to me. I am definitely not a conspiracy person, but damn... I woukd be surprised to hear that this seemingly swift and quick Taliban take over was part of a plant trump, Kushner, Miller, mnunchin, Pompeo and other republicans put into place prior to cheeto leaving in order to cause chaos. The Republican MO has been to create issues that didn’t exist/or exacerbated to swoop in as the only God and Savior who can save us.

I had my response all typed up and was reading it one last time and the electricity went out along with the WiFi . So I get to start again. Where is your proof there is a CYA operation going on in the intelligence community? Seriously where is your proof? For that matter where was this armchair expert’s proof? In case you haven’t noticed there is a huge misinformation problem in this country. Too many people buy into that old saying “if you read it on the internet it must be true”. And that’s a problem because many do absolutely no fact checking or even the minimum of questioning about what they are reading. If someone makes a statement then by golly it must be true never mind if there are no facts to back up the statement. Now you have this guy make this statement in such a way that it must be right. ”please understand that you're covering a massive CYA operation within the Pentagon and the Intelligence Community and provide context in keeping with that.” Is it? Where is his proof? Was he in anyway part of the decision making gang or does he have first hand knowledge of the Pentagon/Intelligence community blowing it or is he just speculating? Do you know? None of us know and without providing proof of what he is saying is true, he probably doesn’t either. And that’s a problem because people will believe him. You might want to keep in mind what I bolded the next time you copy and paste another Twitter post here or an article from one of the armchair experts you like to follow. 98% of the people on this board believe everything you and a few others post to be 100% true, they don’t bother to question it or fact check. Playing the ‘cover your ass’ game in DC is as routine to them as breathing. Always has been and always will be. We have the last administration as 100% evidence of CYA, as most of their “work” ended in CYA, riddled with disaster, lies and bullcrap based on a liar who refused advise of those in positions that knew better. They were the biggest liars in the history of the White House. The difference is republicans will deny/disallow hearings, work against having them—unless it a Democrat in the hot seat.

"By every relevant metric, the COVID crisis in Tennessee is intensifying. Infections, hospitalizations, and fatalities are on the rise in the Volunteer State, where only about 40% of the population is fully vaccinated, and the Tennessee National Guard has been deployed to help bolster increasingly overwhelmed hospitals. Dr. Lisa Piercy from the Tennessee Department of Health explained yesterday that the state's hospital network is facing "capacity concerns on both the pediatric side as well as the adult side." As child hospitalizations grow, the timing could be better: students are starting to head back to classrooms as infections climb. And it was against this backdrop that Tennessee's Republican governor took action -- which is to say, the wrong kind action. The New York Times reported: As the Delta variant fuels a new coronavirus wave, particularly in areas with underwhelming vaccination rates, Tennessee on Monday became the latest state where a governor has undermined efforts by local school districts to require students to wear masks as the new school year approaches. Gov. Bill Lee, a Republican, signed an executive order on Monday essentially gutting any school district's effort to require its students to wear masks... Or as Dr. Jason Yaun, associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the College of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, put it, "I am so angry I am shaking. How do you sign an emergency order that is undoing actions to protect us from that emergency?"" www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/facing-covid-crisis-tennessee-gov-issues-misguided-mask-order-n1276964Beliefs > evidence? Beliefs > data? Beliefs > reason? All of the above? Politics popularity is what it is. The fucking republican governors are willing to risk the lives of children (just like they do with any word of gun control after a school shooting) as collateral damage on their rise to/ gain of political power .

And another “armchair expert”. If you don’t think there’s a massive CYA operation going on in DC right now then you’re delusional. Just watch the amount of CYA that will go on when they start having the hearings on this mess. The vast majority of this country doesn’t fault Biden for the withdrawal, we fault him for the f’d up way it’s been handled. Gee…wonder who put that in motion? Anything to “own the Libs”, amIright?

Do you fault Trump and Pompeo for brokering this deal in the first place, saying we would be out by May? Just 3.5 months after Biden took office? AND, after Trump refused to do what presidents normally do for the incoming president? He spent how many months refusing to admit he lost and refusing to let Biden be briefed on important stuff--this was one of those important things, perhaps?? Biden had little time to prepare. If I were to fault Trump and Pompeo then that would be saying I didn’t agree with withdrawing our troops so the answer to your questions is no. As far as the May date goes it’s a moot point. Biden initially said the date would be 9/11 but I guess somebody had the sense to point out the bad optics of that date so he bumped it up instead of extending it a week or two past 9/11. He would have had time if he hadn’t been so hell bent on having the troops out by the 20th anniversary date. Like I said previously, he either got bad intelligence reports or he ignored them. Either way this disaster is occurring under Biden’s watch and he’s going to have to deal with it. Ignorance must be bliss if you’re republican.

I'm not an American so nothing useful to add really but this topic interests me. Can someone tell me if her claiming unemployment benefits is a cost to the company in any way? I see some people commenting about how decisions could be made to ensure she doesn't receive unemployment so I am wondering if it's a cost to the company if she does? Or is it just for the sake of sticking it to her? If it's no cost to the company, I'd be inclined not to try and checkmate her on that. It's only going to escalate the resentment on both sides. Even if she does get it, it's not something that's going to sustain her long term and eventually she will need to deal with her antivax stance if she wants a decent job. Best to just get an employment lawyer to sort it out...which will only help you for future hirings anyway. In my state, employers are the ones paying into the unemployment fund that is controlled by the state. State invests it to earn interest/dividends, etc. employers pay a % based on payroll hours. Employee files a claim, and if awarded, they are paid by the state from the funds. So it’s not like employers are physically writing the checks to an employee who left.

I’m often rapped tor consult/advice because if my experience and qualification/knowledge. I’ll write a draft, then it will go to a lawyer. Here are a couple of excellent COVID-19 resource centers from firms (neither of which I'm associated with, but both of which have provided umpteen COVID-19 related training sessions I've "attended" over the last year and a half) specializing in employment law, in case that's helpful to you in your drafting and/or helps minimize the expense of your local legal review: Husch Blackwell and McDermottThank you very much!!!

So how do you know that this individual (not just a nameless colleague) is unvaccinated? Or that they are unvaccinated by choice? That is sharing another person's medical history with you. The employee stated that she wasn’t when we went to masking up again. Boss started the conversation that “even though we’re all vaccinated we are going back to masking up…” And she stated that she was not vaccinated, nor was she going to get it. Another employee voiced their concerns about working with non-vaccinated people. And from what I understand it’s permissible to ask about vaccination status.

Also, I think bosses concern regarding vaccine is to protect employees, not to single anyone out.
Once it became known that this one employee was not vaccinated (I had thought everyone was) another employee was concerned and uncomfortable working with someone who wasn’t.
So boss asked me tor thoughts/advice. I gave home a few things to think about right away (like not delving/questioning her medical history or making rash decisions), then I came to peak and and posted to hear what you all thought about it, lol!
