We're hunkered down but it is so nasty with rain and high winds. Thank the Lord DS decided to come up this morning. I heard they closed I-80 before Tahoe and I-5 north of Redding. Be safe!

Nothing yet in OC, it is expected to arrive early tomorrow morning. A fire started yesterday in Santa Barbara so the rain will help with containment. But hope it doesn't cause mudslides!
We have family driving out to AZ tomorrow and hoping it won't be too crazy for them. But the winds look like they will be bad.

Rainy at last! Good amount of wind too. It will probably ruin all of my weekend plans but that is ok. At this point I'll happily postpone things for some much needed rain.

We drove to the central valley foothills from Carmel by the Sea today. Started off at the beach, windy but not too cold. Went to Phil's in Moss Landing and it was FREEZING and windy. Headed out 156 toward Hollister and Dh asked where we would see the first rain drops. I said Manteca, he said Santa Nella and then changed it to Newman. We hit the first drops at Casa de Fruita. REAL rain started just past Santa Nella. I5 southbound was shut down quite a ways because of a crash of at least 3 cars AND one of them was on fire. CRAZINESS!
Got home to 39 degrees (shouldn't drop much more so no snow for us) and WIND! OMG! The rain isn't pouring at the moment but it's damn cold.

I hope y'all stay safe and have great Thanksgivings!!! I need to say some prayers for two of my nephews who have to fly from Los Angeles allllllllll the way to Williamsburg, Virginia (3,000-plus miles) to be with their other grandpa. Today on the news, they showed the TRAFFIC to get to LAX Airport---omg !!!!!!!!!! Ugh, their other Grandpa (my Dad) is trying to tell them to forget that verrry long cross-country nightmare and just try to spend Thanksgiving with us instead! ( I wish!) We realize flying/ driving ANYwhere for Thanksgiving is already difficult even without weather nightmares--- but at least we're 1,500 miles closer!

We aren't going to get hit with rain until tomorrow morning if the forecast is correct.
I'm hoping to get in a walk at the beach and pick up our race packs for the Oceanside Turkey Trot before the storm hits.

Today on the news, they showed the TRAFFIC to get to LAX Airport---omg !!!!!!!!!! Sadly, that may have just been regular LA traffic. One time I dropped DH off at LAX and headed to my destination 30 miles north. He landed in Seattle before I made it to Burbank.

Last night the wind was horrible! Then it dies down to a breeze today and has now kicked up again. Temps dropped fast too. Clouds have also rolled in.
Did you see Mammoth had wind gusts of 90 to 94 MPH last night?! Holy poop!

Today was beautiful, sunny and no wind. Hard to believe what is supposed to be coming tomorrow. I think the rains are supposed to arrive just before noon, according to the iphone weather app. And then it shows rain all the way through Friday.

Tustin (OC) here. No rain yet but expected for the next 3 days. Cancelled mini-vacay to Big Bear because they are expected to get 20 inches of snow by Friday. One inch would have been fun but 20? No thanks.

We had rain most of the afternoon and a really heavy blast of it around dinner time, I guess. I didn’t notice high winds but I was inside most of the afternoon so who knows. It has stopped raining for now and is just cold.
I think it’s supposed to keep raining off and on through Thursday. I don’t have to drive too far on Thanksgiving (about 15 minutes), so that should be okay.
(I’m in the north/east Bay Area, on the Carquinez Strait.)

Butte County here. It’s been rainy and cold most of the day and night. Weather app said snow mixed with rain but didn’t happen. Snow here is unusual. I’m so thankful for the rain! It’s going to be a mess with all of the leaves in the street that haven’t been picked up. They are just thick.

I’m further inland so today was nice and relatively warm. Right now it’s 50 degrees and cloudy with a 40% chance of rain for tomorrow.

No thanks. My sister in law and her family and a bunch of their friends and families went to big bear BECAUSE of the snow. Lol. They’re from Poway.

When we were watching TV last night we had to turn the volume really high because it sounded like a hurricane hitting our windows in the family room. They've calmed down some this morning.

Huge thunderstorm rolled through last night. Love it. Except my daughter had a 9:00 PM flight out of PDX and they flight kept getting delayed and was ultimately cancelled due to the power outage at Oakland airport. We scrambled to find another flight and she just landed at San Jose. There were not many options to choose from.

That was a crazy storm with periods of intense rain. I'm hoping things calm down enough in SoCal today that DS's flight won't be delayed or cancelled.

Lots of rain coming down in sheets and wind gusts over 50! Today is quite calm so far, more rain is expected in the next couple of days.

Here in Los Angeles there is water coming from the sky. Cat is confused, thinks the front and back door might have dry scenarios.

Woke to wind and rain, but it has now settled down. Hopefully there is more rain in our forecast, but just gentle rain. Don't want any landslides.

Still blue skies. Weather app shows rain pushed back until noon-ish.
Stay safe, warm and dry everyone!

It rained most of last night, but stopped around 6 am. I was just now getting ready for a walk when it started again. I might have a date with the treadmill today. :/
I'm in Santa Cruz county.

We have had a lot of rain overnight. I just sent one of my employees home early because she lives up by Yosemite and doesn't have her truck with her. The roads will probably close down by early afternoon up there.

No thanks. I am 10 min from the 330, grew up right by it. I had a window that faced the mountains and miss the snowy views! It is very grey and windy here. Rain is to start by 11am.
