grammadee I'm kicking this one off a few days early because the hectic pace of the next few days will bring us quickly to December. In her last posts of December 2018, Donna recalled how deeply the loss of her sister in December, many years earlier, affected her all her life. While the holidays can be filled with great efforts to make things happy, sometimes we have losses that affect us especially at the holidays. For the December Donna Challenge, do a layout about someone no longer with us, or who we miss, especially at this time of year. Perhaps you will do a page about baking grandma's famous cookies, or reflect on someone from your past who is no longer in your life. This is very broad so it can be a page about someone who has passed or someone with whom we are no longer in touch. You can scrap about a happy memory with them or a page about how they are remembered today. This layout will be a challenge for me because I have so many people in my life with whom I am no longer in contact. One of my ideas is to scrap my very first attempt tomorrow to make brown sugar yams from my grandmother's recipe. My mom makes them but I got the recipe from my cousin, whose mom also made them from the same recipe. With my DD's first Thanksgiving, I can incorporate a picture of her as a 6th generation to eat those from this family recipe. She's at the tender age where she will eat pretty much anything. I do not eat them and don't plan to! Let's see what you come up with for this challenge. 5 points for completing this challenge. Please post here as well as on the general challenge conversation thread.

This sounds like a great challenge and I like what you plan to do with it.
We just lost a family member (the day before Thanksgiving, no less) and last year we spent Thanksgiving with another recently widowed family member, so sadly I'll have plenty to work with on this one...

I am totally doing this. I have the perfect picture of my precious grandma on her birthday last month. I will enjoy scrapping her happy beautiful face. 🥰

I might do a Things I Would Have Bought You layout for my dad. There's a book I saw that I totally would have got him. And things like the lady at craft show who makes sugar free jam make me sad because I made yearly purchases for him.
I did a layout called Mr. Christmas earlier. I didn't realize how many of our holiday traditions were from him.

Just lost this precious lady, my grandma, on October 27th; just 20 days after this photo was taken. 💔
