Just put the news on to see there had been an incident in London today where a number of people have been stabbed and a suspect wearing a hoax suicide vest has been shot dead by police. smh. Some people have been seriously injured but there are no details.
There are scenes of members of the public bravely wrestling with someone on London Bridge. It is wonderful that we have people willing to do this. Absolute heroes.

Yes, I've been following the news. Have seen some video of the events on the bridge. Some brave people there.
If you wear what looks like a suicide vest expect a strong response.

Thats' what I came away with too, from the brief look I've had at the BBC news page. Members of the public tackled him to the ground and one guy got the knife and ran away with it. I imagine there was a sense of "No bloody way are you doing this!!..."

According to some reports he started to fumble with this " fake" suicide vest which was unknown to be fake at the time and that was when the police fired at him. I hope that the injured recover but again according to some reports some of them are pretty badly injured.

CNN has just announced a similar incident in the Netherlands, outside of the Hague.
I think we will find this is related to the United States (and Turkeys) actions recently in the Middle East. And I am sure the tweet is coming from trump regarding Mayor Khan's inability to control terrorism in London.

It’s horrible, isn’t it. The State Department has issued a Level 2 warning for Belgium and specifically Brussels. DD flies into Paris tomorrow from Dublin, so hopefully it will all stay calm.

My nephew (23) and my niece ( about to turn 18 on Christmas Eve) are in London right now. So glad they met up a few days ago to travel together for the rest of their journey through Europe.
They are okay, but so scary to see the news. This is their first trip travelling by themselves. We live in Australia so they are such a long way away. I cant even begin to comprehend the bravery of people who run TOWARD the attacker when every sense would be telling you to flee.

Oh no, how awful! I was about to post how glad I am that nobody has lost their lives, but then I read the next post that said two poor people have been killed. So sad.

This link highlights what the heroes did, including taking a five foot narwhal tusk off the wall of Fishmongers Hall and chasing the attacker with it. The man who got the knife from him had been on the other side of the bridge, ran through traffic and cleared the central reservation to confront the attacker. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-50608315

I am always so struck by how an incident in the UK involves a knife with “few” (1 is too many) victims and in the US it involves an assault weapon and 50+ victims. You are obviously doing things right.

Those brave men who tackled him make me think Sod Brexit! Sod the election! Let’s rejoice that we still have brave, decent people willing to stop an attacker.
