I have a question about the app. I’m really really slow on the treadmill. Like I can run for 30-45 seconds at a time at like 4.5 mph. Is the app worth it to get it? Or am I out of my league? I’m doing my first full marathon this time next year after taking a year off running with back issues. I need something to help me stay motivated and challenge me

I just signed up for the free trial. I go to Orange Theory, but would love to add yoga back into my routine and this is cheaper than a class! I’m going to give it a go in the morning.

Thanks to the peas i just downloaded it! I downloaded it on my phone can I log in with my iPad? And do I have to take the classes at the exact times? I’m a little confused. And I am a beginner, do no exercise at all!!! Are there beginner classes?

I just signed up for the app and LOVE IT! The flexibility of workout types and length of sessions is great. How’s everyone else doing with their trials/subscriptions? Loving it! I ended up doing the 30 day trial and it ended 1/2 and I purchased the monthly 12.99 subscription. I use the app for yoga (I also do studio yoga but supplement with the app), walk/run on my treadmill, strength classes, and I bought an inexpensive spin bike off Amazon and do the cycling classes. I’m really enjoying the cycling and it was a good edition to my workout routine. I joined a Facebook group for peloton digital app users and they have lots of ideas for setting up your own faux peloton situation if you don’t want to purchase the peloton bike.

And I am a beginner, do no exercise at all!!! Are there beginner classes? Yes there are beginner classes. When you chose the type of class on the top of the screen (walk, yoga, cycle etc) there is a filter at the bottom and you can filter instructors, music type, level of class, and length of class- it’s really great. You can do live - I’ve only done that once. It’s better for me to just do the saved classes that meet my needs at a particular time I want to work out.

For instance, when I do the walk/run on the treadmill I don’t always do exactly what they say but I can use it for a guideline. For instance, now you should go faster for 2 minutes and then back to a slower speed. Eventually you can work up to closer to the speeds and time they are suggesting. They can be pretty motivating so that part stands even if you aren’t doing exactly what they prompt. And they always say that, too- that you should do what you can.

Good to know I don’t need credit card info right away. Maybe I will try it when DH goes out of town this week. Tomorrow we are going to look at a Peloton bike, they have a booth at the mall. I have severe tailbone issues so I need to actually sit on the bike to see if it will work for me.

I have been using the app as well. I watch the cycling workouts on my elliptical since my treadmill died. I would like a bike but am worried about not being able to get used to the seat. So far I am happy with what I am doing. I’ve done 17 cycling/elliptical and two stretching workouts. I want to try some of the yoga workouts as well and have heard that the mediations are good, too.

iamkristinl16 and MissBiancaDon't feel married to the seat!!! I have ridden outdoors a bunch over the years training for different things. And I was having issues with the seat that comes with the bike. I had my sit bones measured by a bike fit person at a bike store and then ordered the right size seat based on that for me. It makes a HUGE difference. We were traveling over the holidays and I road in a Peloton showroom where we were since I didn't have access to the bike and it reiterated for me how much better my seat is for my rear end. I even switched it to my very, very low padding road bike seat for a bit and even that was better than the seat that came with it, since it was the right width for me. I think I posted this before...but if you are interested in the bike my referral code is 5A3BVA and it will get you $100 off and I get a $100 credit for apparel. I am #craftymomof4 and I am working really hard to reach 365 rides by January 26th. It will be 1 year since my first ride, I'm currently at 321 so I need to average 3 rides a day will then. Which is fine and all, but a little brutal when I am trying to finish up another challenge that i have two 45 minute rides and a 90-minute ride to do this coming week to finish. The Power Zone Pack is an amazing training group/program that I have seen a huge difference in my strength and endurance on the bike from doing. There is another 6-week challenge starting up on the 20th. So much fun!! Anyhow....I am more than happy to answer any questions about the bike, as someone who had never done a spin class and only rode a bike to be able to finish triathlons I have fallen In LOVE with the bike that goes nowhere!

I should add that I wear padded bike shorts. Everyone will tell you that you will get used to the seat after a little bit, which if you have the right seat that is true. But even though I can do a 20/30/45 minute ride in leggings, my butt is much happier in padded shorts. You can get great ones cheap on amazon and they are totally worth it. Matt Wilpers is the only one that really talks about wearing them (he is a triathlon and running coach in addition to being a peloton bike and tread instructor) and he recommends wearing them all the time for riding and he wears them when he teaches.

So you could try it at home for 30 days and then return if it doesn't work out.

I tried the yoga and stretching this morning. It was awesome! I think it will be worth the $12.99!

beaglemom good to know about the seat. The bike would primarily be for my husband, he was a mountain bike racer before we got married but due to a car accident he can’t run with me anymore (I’m a runner). So I’m thinking bike next to the treadmill and we can work out together. But there are days I would like to use the bike too.
