I'm sure many of you, like me, have been too busy with holiday stuff to get much scrapbooking done.
I did start an album for my DS. I've been going through old photos and found some great ones. I am not going to try to do his whole life, just random stuff. He's almost 40, so no going back!
I also switched to 8-1/2 x 11 for his album. I think it will be easier for him to store. But, sheesh, it's hard to work on that size when I am used to 12 x 12! There is no room for photos and embellishments.

Me too! I've been taking a photo/day for my DD but nothing has been prepped or anything besides the first coat of paint on my Dec album. I decided not to buy an album for it this year so I have to be a bit creative to make the one I have work with my colors. It's all good.
Happy to have finally tracked down some new 12x12 albums for the price I was willing to pay. I grabbed 3, plus some extra PL page protectors. I'm ready for next year. I took this year off and I really missed it!
Also tossing around the idea of freezing my SB budget for 2020. Thinking I need to be creating more than I have been buying.

I'm feeling very disorganized. I'm waiting for 2019 photos from 2 DDs and my DH so I can begin to organize and edit, and in the weeks I've been waiting I've let my workspace get cluttered. While I was cleaning up the rest of the house for Thanksgiving guests, a lot of the overflow was dumped into my room to be dealt with later. I guess it's later now, and time to deal.
On the plus side, I just ordered a bunch of 6x8 albums in order to begin heritage projects and childhood albums for both myself and DH. I'm very excited about these, and I'm not putting any pressure on myself to complete them by any certain date.
Oh, and I need to finish my cards and get them in the mail - Almost forgot about them!

Hey Peas! I saw some cute metal words at Dollar Tree today with all the Christmas stuff. It's a 3 pack with Peace, Joy, and Believe. The Believe was around 10 inches, so you could use it vertically on an 8.5x11, or any way at all on a 12x12. Or just decorate them and stick them wherever you still have an empty spot in your house. Or on your house. You could stick one of these bad boys on a wreath! My head is spinning with all the possibilities!

I did a two page layout last weekend with pictures of my dgd when she went on the Polar Express with her aunt and uncle. Adorable pictures and Doodlebug Christmas Magic...I couldn’t resist. Since my husband’s death I’ve moved some of my scrapbooking stuff into the bedroom where I can use his desk. It’s better than the cold basement in the winter.

I just finished an 8.5 x 11 album for a seventeen year old boy and his mother (who has had cancer/chemo for a lot of years). When I was first asked to do this two weeks from Thanksgiving, I said no. Then I thought about her not doing well, and I would feel guilty forever if this is her last Christmas. I only have girls to scrapbook and I only do 12 x 12, and I don’t know the mother nor the boy.
I managed to get it done. I hope they like it. It’s so much easier to do for someone you know. I did enjoy doing it, but it was stressful at times.

Last night i ordered November photos. Pretty small order. And most were screen shots/ stealing from my kids' Instagrams.
This morning I looked over the past two years of December & holiday layouts.
I'm making a goal to take more Christmas morning photos this year. Last year I got three.
I always have intentions of those perfect present-opening, faces full of joy photos.
But it's more like sharks scenting blood in the water.

Ok, I know it’s only been a year, but I reorganized my dies. I was tired of some of them falling off the magnet sheets in the bin they were in. I sorted them all. Dies that go with stamps are on small magnets in a pouch with the stamps in the bin i had. Previously they were all over 1/2 in the die bin 1/2 in the stamp bin and it was frustrating. Then I bought a 2nd paper sorter from the container store ( plus extra shelves for it) and now all my stand alone dies are sorted in trays, still on the magnets, labeled and at my finger tips. I moved my paper because I just don’t reach for it as often. It’s still near by down on my die machine cart. There’s plenty of room for 8 more shelves

Ugh. Its December 7th and I have not scrapbooked a single things. I haven't printed DD photos yet. OR finished my 2Peas Christmas Cards. My desk is covered in crap (mail, wrapping paper and leftover holiday decor). I got the house clean and laundry done today so I am hoping to finish my cards and print DD photos tomorrow so I can work on DD next week.

I have scans of a lot of the photos that I want to use, and I know what I want to journal about, so I feel like I'm already ahead of the game in some respects. I just need to organize what I have, gather some extra photos from relatives, and do the writing. Lots of writing. And then I can decorate, which is the fun part, but that won't happen for a long while.

Currently my scrap desk is piled high with bags and shipping boxes of gifts that are coming in and will need to be wrapped. I'm keeping a list of all the holiday stuff i want to document, and taking photos as i go, but won't print/scrap until January.

I have a box of holiday & Christmas cards from the classes I take but apparently none were quite right so I had to make a new one last night.
We have a brand new person at work and I don’t know him at all so I needed a toned down card since I have no idea what he celebrates

Aah! this thread is stressing me out! I haven't printed photos, journaled for my JYC, finished my cards, put all the crap away from the Bath and Body works candle day. I could go on and on. Guess I need to get off this board and do some things. Brave Little Mouse took two full days away from me. One day to clean and put away all my scrappy stuff on top of my counters and a second day to clean and put all the stuff away that was on the floor. Dare I look inside the bins that I haven't needed to open? Not sure yet.

How's this for silly? DD16 had a performance tonight in which she sang La Vie en Rose in both French and English (and she did a lovely job of it too! ) And the whole time that I was watching her and snapping pictures, I was giddy because now I have a reason to buy some goodies from Doodlebug's French Kiss line

msliz - a true spontaneous memory, plus our hobby = why we got into scrapbooking originally! Happiness! I always think kids who sing are brave because I have zero guts to be on stage/in a spotlight let along sing up there. I haven't scrapped anything this month either. I have done ONE calendar page for my MIL (she gets a homemade scrapped photo calendar for christmas) and hope to finish by Monday I've finished cards, and a birthday card. I'm really hoping that over the holiday itself I might find some "me" time to create. One hold-up will be my printer: she ain't feeling so hot, and I can't get photos to print with any quality! I do normally print at costco anyways, but when it's holiday season I just like to print off a few current photos and use them right away.

I think I'm giving up on December scrapping and wishing for a better January 2020.

Went to a fun crop today with some awesome ladies and worked on getting my 2019 family photos organized. And then I popped into Michaels and found a 12x12 Crate Paper Snow Day pad (2012) at the bottom of the Hot Buy stacks. After the coupon, it cost me $3 and change. I'm not crazy about all the browns in it, but there are some brights too. I'm pretty sure I'll get my money's worth out of it

I am really hoping to get a little time in my happy place tonight. DD and her dog have been here all week, due to a water leak in her apartment.
No offense to the dog lovers out there, but I am not a dog person. He's sweet, but messing up my routine!
