My favorite book was The Only Plane in the Sky. I wish everyone could read this-just outstanding. If I can pick a favorite fiction it would be The Dutch House with The Most Fun We Ever Had coming in a close second. I can recommend First as a biography. It’s about Sandra Day O’Connor. Really enjoyed it and was well liked for book club. cindyupnorth read all your books too and they all get a thumbs up from me.

I just finished "Year of Yes" by Shonda Rhimes. It was great to listen to as an audiobook, read by the author. She knows how to read a book as though she is confiding in you.
Other non-fiction Becoming by Michelle Obama Better than Before by Gretchen Reuben (for anyone who is looking to change a habit perhaps for a New Years Resolution)
Fiction: An American Marriage by Tayari Jones

I will second the recommendation for this one. 👍 It is a little bit depressing, but really very riveting and the stories of heroism balance out the depressing aspects. Also... Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain How to Stop Time by Matt Haig The Sun Does Shine by Anthony Ray Hinton - a great memoir

You will definitely shed a tear reading this. No doubt some of the stories you’ve heard, but there are so many topics touched on that have been overshadowed by the larger events. Another thing that stuck with me is how vastly different technology is now compared to less than 2 decades ago. I’ve never read a non fiction book that was such a page turner.

I have nothing to add but I am following for ideas. I really need to read more. My dh bought me some socks that I wanted for my birthday. They say "Fuck off. I'm reading!" and I would like for that statement to be true.

The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer
Fabulous heartbreaking book about young love being divided by the invasion of Nazis into Poland. I know there are many books about this subject but this one stands out. I’ve read several that are good and enjoyable but this one captured by heart and I’ve thought about it a lot since I read it.
