Pumpkin pie and Yule log (chocolate sponge filled with coffee whipped cream is the only acceptable version at our table) are two of our faves. Trifle is also good and very easy and can be made a day ahead.

Chocolate mousse? Toffee? (It’s fun to make - I make a toffee with chocolate and almond topping every year) Pumpkin pie is always good

I generally make some sort of trifle. Easy to make and looks somewhat festive

Custard puffs(similar to eclairs). You could decorate the tops w/red and green icing. or white snowflakes.

Last year we made homemade rainbow cookies and will be doing that again for sure! Homemade crumbcake: half plain, half with raspberry under the crumb. And we also like cannoli dip put out with cinnamon sugar pita chips (or pieces of cannoli shell if available).

This year I am doing my pecan pie cheesecake. Not sure what the other dessert for my non-nut liking DS will be.

Choc Ripple Cakes are popular here, at any time of year. And you can give them a real Christmassy look by decorating them with red and green things on top. They are super easy to make, it's probably the first thing Aussie kids learn to 'cook'. You probably don't have the Chocolate Ripple biscuits (cookies) there, but I'm sure you'd have something similar. Basically, you spread whipped cream over store-bought cookies and layer them together in a log (or wreath) shape, cover completely with cream then let sit in the fridge. The cookies go soft like a chocolate cake - without the baking! Then you just decorate it. Choc Ripple Cake

I made a Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake one year. I just poured everything in and started it when we were sitting down to eat. It was easy and delicious and people don't need more than a small serving as it's quite rich. Hmm, maybe I'll make it again myself this year!

I think that Americans can use the chocolate graham crackers and make the cake that AussieMeg suggested.

We always have a chocolate croissant bread pudding (I could make one, but we usually order from our local tea room ... hers is better than mine) and my sister gets a Buche de Noel from the bakery. We also have lots of Christmas cookies, See’s candy, and other sweets. Last year we had really fun (and tasty) Christmas cookies from Countryside Cakes at Etsy, aka our very own Lovebug2867 . hmm, off to check out if I’m too late to order them again ... ETA my Christmas cookies have been ordered!

I've made a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake the last 3 or 4 years. Damned if I can find the recipe now, though.
I've made bacardi rum cake and German cocolate cake (DH's favourite) in the past.

Have you had the cheesecake from Costco? I think that is what we are going with this year. I might make a homemade cherry sauce to go on top.

This Cranberry Almond Christmas Cake has become one of our newer traditions over the last few years. It is delicious and easy to make. I make a small amount of a simple glaze with powdered sugar, juice from an orange along with some of the zest to drizzle on top. A dollop of whipped cream never hurt, either.

My nana always made pineapple delight for Christmas Easy and can be made ahead and frozen. Sadly DH and DD don’t really like it....

I've made it with raspberries and we really liked it as well. I bet blueberries would be great. Maybe with a lemon glaze? It didn't need a lot of glaze, but definitely some because the cranberries are tart.
