Has anyone got any ideas for using these big honking EK success punches? It seems as though I am punching hard enough, but then I can not get the paper out ( and I can barely get it in there) What the heck am I doing wrong?

Assuming you got that little slide to open all the way...
Tape some waxed paper to the top of your cs and slide it all into the punch.
Put the punch on the floor or some really sturdy surface. Punch down firmly, making sure you have punched all the sides. (I will sometimes STEP on the top so the whole thing goes down.)
If it cuts through, it should spring back up afterward, the piece you cut should fall out, and the negative piece should slide out.
Good luck!

Sometimes the yellow slide on these is difficult, or will slide at an angle so the punch doesn't release all the way. Usually if it punches through well it will spring right back up, but if mine gets stuck in the down position I just tap on the back (the metal part) with a pen or something similar until it pops back up.

I think the closure is stuck partially closed. I'd probably just try to remove the yellow part entirely.
I love my EK Success punches and never have a problem punching with them. I do have one that I can't get to close, but no big deal to me.
