Paper Piecing!! (wow, that doesn't look like it is spelled right)
I have this 3 inch binder of nothing but copies of paper piecing patterns. I must have had someone that bought tons of books, because all I have are copies (Oh the horror.. so sorry!! making illegal copies!!).. tons of bears and animals of course... I didn't do a ton of them.. but the few I do have I still think they are pretty darn cute..lol

I have one of those too!! Rebecca Sower patterns! I think I was going to scan them and try cutting them on my Cameo. Yeah that hasn't happened either! #493 on things to do!

This is why I have a large studio. It is crammed full of things I'm going to do ... someday. Of course, now I don't remember what nor how I was going to do it, but I don't want to throw it away because ... I don't know why.

Paper piecing designs are also handy for cut up birthday cakes. If anyone makes and decorates kids' cakes any more...

I have paper piecing pattern books, too. Like you, I planned to scan them and turn them into cutting files for my cutter. Didn’t happen, but I hang onto them.

I am so jealous of your binder, lol. That is so cool.
I have huge binders full of coloring book pages. I still use them for paper piecing with my die cutters. I still buy coloring books for paper piecings. It is an obsession.

That (a big binder full of paper piecing patterns) was one of the very many things that had to go in my recent move. I haven't really used them in quite a while ... I just liked having them. Which is what could be said for a lot of very-important-scrap crap-items.

I have just had a couple of lessons in paper piecing. Lesson 1, I watched a you-tube video which involved sewing fabric to paper. Lesson 2 involved sewing machine rights. Seems it's an owner-operator thing, and I am not worthy of the sewing machine in our home. I always thought the term paper piecing involved something like inlay, which I bungled up so many times. So I just do iris folding every once in a while.

The sewing machine is the sole property of The Queen. I am not worthy to try and use it.

Paper piecing designs are also handy for cut up birthday cakes. If anyone makes and decorates kids' cakes any more... When I was growing up, I had cut up cakes every year. My aunt was a genius with them. Such happy memories.

I scanned my binder full of those paper piecing patterns that came free in scrapbook magazines. They are great to use with the Cameo. Its a tedious, boring job but I am much more likely to use them than if they were still sitting buried on my shelf.

after I read this thread the first time, I went down a 'Rebecca Sower' rabbit hole, but I never did find any book of her paper piecings, lol! But rereading it again has made me determined... (and Don, I think the 'sewing machine rights' issue means you might need your very OWN sewing machine, to add to your studio!!)

I’d heard the term before but never knew what it was. I looked it up and it looks like it’s kind of a paper version of quilting. Some of the images I found were really cute.

Oh then you missed all the DRAMA over paper piecing. Funny enough, I can't remember what the hell kind of drama paper piecing can make. I was never involved but it used to get SO heated. I think it started when scrappers were selling them on ebay for huge amounts of money and it was downhill from that.. At least that is kinda what I remember.

I vaguely remember that it had something to do with a bear. I thought it was some sort of Paperkin paper doll thing.
