I'm stuck on the couch with the dogs watching the lights on the tree because DH is frantically running from room to room looking for one of my gifts that he thought was in his toolbox. Our house only has 4 rooms and he's run back and forth probably a dozen times.
His commentary is cracking me up and I am trying SO hard to not bust out laughing. 😂😂😂

made me lol about your husband though - saw a meme saying "dec 22 - still 2 more days before men in your life start their shopping".
gonna collect them shortly and sit down to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol. i am not sure they are interested.... but i LOVE it so... yah.... won't kill them!!!

We are watching Netflix on different TVs. Did errands in the AM and now are just chilling. Sangria in hand as I can handle it to drink. I also did laundry earlier. We aren’t fun Peas. Christmas last weekend was awesome!

Did our only Christmas get together today, my parents, and now we are relaxing on the couch with cats. Gonna watch a Christmas special in a few minutes, and I have 2 presents to wrap and DH's stocking to stuff before bedtime.

Nice & calm.
Younger kids watching tv with me.
Food slow cooking, and other food marinating to be cooked tomorrow.
All gifts already wrapped, just need to be put out once the kids are asleep.
It's almost going too well. It usually feels more hectic.

He is still looking! So many words that aren't jolly. He ordered something that had to go through customs so he planned ahead but hid it so well he cant find it.
He said he thought he put it in the toolbox but that seems like a probably not to me.

My mom left this morning to go home so she can spend Christmas Day with my Brother’s family. She spent Thanksgiving with me and she’ll be back asap to spend my birthday with us.
DD and my grand dog arrived an hour or so ago, so we are all set. Spoke with DS earlier today and he and his wife will spend the holiday with her mom.
We are just in total chill mode for the next few days. We;ve gotten appetizers instead of a big meal and everyone will go down and fix something to share whenever the urge strikes. Present will be opened tomorrow, then we’ll all come back upstairs to watch Tv or read together.

Pretty great- I am also not feeling as frazzled as usual at this point! All gifts accounted for and wrapped. We’re about to head off to Christmas Eve service and then come home for appetizers and Christmas movies. I’ve got the apps prepped and ready to finish up quickly when we get home. Merry Christmas Peas!

One of our favorite sayings in this house when looking for/finding things is “if it was snake, it would’ve bit you.” 🤣🤣🤣
You have a keeper.

It's going great here...been watching Christmas movies/specials all day with the kids. I love that they're 15 and 16 and still want to do our yearly traditions. We've watched Frosty, Charlie Brown Christmas, Polar Express, Twas the Night Before Christmas, Merry Madagascar, Mr Magoo's Christmas Carol, Rudolph, A Christmas Story currently. I'm sure we've watched more but I can't remember.

We are stuffed to the gills with Christmas Eve dinner. Waiting for ds2 to fall asleep before wrapping all the presents. He gets too anxious with presents beneath the tree before Christmas, so this year there is nothing there. Still all in mailing boxes, waiting to be wrapped.
Tomorrow afternoon, I am introducing my family to Jewish Christmas. We are going to see Star Wars in the afternoon. It is the first time in our 21 years of marriage that I am getting Dh to partially celebrate Christmas as I did growing up - going to the movies! We will do presents and breakfast in the early morning, nap, and then head to our favorite theater that serves food and has 30 beers on tap.

Just got back from driving around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights. Now DH is in the living room watching something and I'm in the kitchen eating ice cream and watching It's a Wonderful Life.

I love that it was on top of the toolbox the whole time, that is great. I have had an exceptionally easy, wonderful day today. This year we opted out of all extended family celebrations because we really just don't enjoy going anymore. Maybe next year we will go but taking this year off has been awesome. This morning I rode my horse through clouds and huge puddles and thick mud. We got super messy and had a blast. Came home, had a nap, watched some Netflix and now I'm making soup. Gifts are all wrapped and ready to our small celebration tomorrow. We're having turkey pot pie for dinner, milkshakes and home made pretzels for snacks.

Dessert for tomorrow is in the refrigerator. I've started the prep for lunch. The house is a disaster. DH is recovering from shoulder replacement surgery and I still have meds and PT instructions on the dining room table. He has to sleep in the recliner and we moved his computer in the living room. So glad I didn't decorate this year, I would have had to just move everything.
I started cleaning out my walk in closet today. I figured while I was the one hauling off trash for the next few months, I could sneak out a bunch of junk without him noticing. We watched an episode of Mrs. Maisel. The one gift I give - to Mother - is ready to go.

We will do presents and breakfast in the early morning, nap, and then head to our favorite theater that serves food and has 30 beers on tap. My husbands family always went to the movies on Christmas Day for as long as he can remember. When I started dating him, I asked when we could exchange our gifts. And he said “after we get back from the movies”. And then he had to explain because I had no idea thetheater was even open on the 25th! 😂. The following year I got to celebrate Christmas with all of them, so I also got to go to the movies. And it is one of my favorite family traditions from his side of the family! This year we are not going on Christmas (because all the tickets to see star wars were already sold out), but will go on Friday instead. Tomorrow should be very chill, full of playing with new toys and reading new books. 😁 Thank you for posting about going to the movie on Christmas. It brought back a whole bunch of happy memories for me!

Spent the day in the ER and hospital room with my 87 year old dad. Bladder infection, kidney issues and fluid in his lungs. Not the day we had planned but he was resting comfortably when we left. ☹️

Empty nesters here and family is spread out in different states, so just the 2 of us. We went downtown and enjoyed some hot buttered rums with appetizers. Then we hit the ice ribbon and skated under the Christmas lights with holiday music playing. It was pretty amazing and the only thing missing is some snow up here in the PNW!

Really quiet night here. Not feeling well so we had pizza - normally make breakfast with Monkey bread for Christmas morning but hubby picked up donuts today so we still have way too many so not making more sweets. All the presents are wrapped and the stockings are filled and its not even 7 pm yet. Just going to watch a few Christmas movies and hope to get to sleep early. Tomorrow will be a really laid back and quiet day.
Family gatherings have been postponed until this weekend so that is when the anxiety hits as we host two events but they are small and have been scaled back. I need to do some baking for them though as I had started and then got sick and stopped and well the boys have nearly polished off what I made LOL.

Lots and lots and lots of talking, which is tough for me and my introverted husband. We usually don’t speak to each other for a good hour after we leave!

Well, my DH gave my kitchen aide pasta rollers to MIL because she said she wanted some and just never bought them. This is after I made her certificates to give to the kids as gifts for experiences because she’s totally broke and went into my Lego mini kit stash and pulled out one for each kid to be from her.
In his defense he came over and told me to order myself another set. Boys make stupid decisions sometimes.

All activities ceased at 12 noon. If it wasn't bought, baked, sewn or wrapped by then it won't get done until the 26th.
My Dad came over mid afternoon and we all went to Christmas Mass together. The Spanish children's choir sand, and we sang O Come All Ye Faithful in English, Latin and Spanish. The Travelers were all decked out in sequins and fur, a sight to see.
After Mass we came home and enjoyed Burning Feather's Italian beef. DD made a homemade coconut cake that was amazing.
When we were completely stuffed and finished with dinner, Dad was ready to go home, so DH drove him in his car and the kids and I followed in mine. On the way home we had our traditional Light Night driving through neighborhoods admiring the different displays.
Now we are home again and in our jammies watching White Christmas, another Christmas Eve tradition. Once the kids go to bed we will fill the stockings and then DH and I will turn off all of the lights and sit quietly on the sofa watching the lights of the tree twinkle (probably the very first tradition DH had, we started doing that the very first Christmas we were dating - - 1987).
So all is quiet and right in the world of the CraftedbyS family. Wishing all of the Peas a very Merry Christmas.

It’s been a good day. Finishing up my baking and snacks then going to watch a movie. Everyone seems to be enjoying the relaxed day. Tomorrow will be a little busier with extended family visits but it should still be nice.
