My trees are down and everything packed away as of this evening. Normally we keep our stuff out until around NYE but this year, I am just ready for a clean slate in my home. I don't normally decorate with reds so after a few weeks of color, I need a break. I feel like I can breathe again! Now I am back to a more 'winter neutral' palette - creams, whites, a touch of grey and tan. I will keep this color scheme until after Valentines Day, then I will incorporate more greens and blues. Looking at the new Magnolia stuff at Target, I see they have used lots of mauve (they call it copper online, but its a mauve pink when I saw it in store) and yellow. Its too soon for yellow for me, but I could see myself picking up some of the mauve pillows to add some light color in a few weeks. They also are using lots of blues and navy. So whats your plans? Leaving the Christmas up for awhile? Is it already down? Will you do anything different for these winter months til Spring?

I’ll take it down next weekend before we go back to school, or during the week if I’m tired of it. We don’t worry about keeping it up through epiphany as some do, because we don’t think that’s necessary.

We keep it up through the epiphany. Heck, we just put the tree up on Sunday. I really don’t decorate until the week leading up to Christmas.
If that’s what floats your boat, I’m all for it. But I’ll admit I’m baffled when I read about Peas who already have their decorations put away.

Me! Only put up a small tree and very few other decorations. DS literally came down a few minutes a ago, saw tree down etc and said "Wow. That's the fastest we've undone Christmas." Me: We? Him: Giggle and a smirk. He'll help if around or I ask, but I didn't and it all went so quick. LOL Also my tree was on a large crock with a round glass placed on top. My favorite blanket was left inside, forgot to remove before putting up tree. So that spurred the quick take down. I want my blankie!

No, I'm definitely not ready to take anything down yet. DSO asked me last night when I was going to take the tree down, and I said not until after New Year's Day. I use lots of bright colours at Christmas (seeing that it's summer here) - pink, blue, green, purple and gold. I don't change the colours in my house for each season either. I hate winter, so I like to stick with bright colours all year round, it makes me feel happier during the dull winter days.

normally I take it all down but my son is home from the navy and doesn't leave until Saturday so I am stretching it. Also, my husband agreed to a fake tree this year if I would leave it up until New Years'. We bought a very expensive one and I admit I love it and the light it gives off at night so it may stay up a bit.

I'll probably keep them up until Jan 3rd or 4th.

I think its due to the 'emotional season' I am in and just want to get back to normal. We got our tree (a real tree) put up early December and it was just sad now. Even though we watered it like we were supposed to, its branches were already sagging and needles falling.

I am undecorated and put away. Did it last night.
Barring any unforeseeable circumstance. I decorate on Thanksgiving Night, and undecorated on Christmas Night.
That is more than enough time, for things to be moved about (to make room for holiday decor) and out of sorts. By Christmas eve, I am usually feeling the need to get things back to the way they should be. A place for everything and everything in it's place.
looking forward to my anual "beginning of the year clean up, sort though, discard, etc...".

Usually we leave up until New Years. I had to work today or I might have taken down today. Probably this weekend.

I want to soooo bad, but my DH will freak as we just got it up about 10 days ago and it takes sooo much work. But next week for sure - I will slowly start to do it so he doesn't notice I'm doing it.

Sometimes it's a bit later than Thanksgiving, but I'm over Christmas by December 26! I only keep it to one room. We don't celebrate Epiphany, so no need to keep it up for that reason.
I have a few wintery decorations I'll put out and keep through January.
I'm not doing purging until school and work starts again. Right now, it's maintenance.

Ha, mine all came down on the 24th. We celebrated Christmas on the 19th because DH and DS #2 were leaving for a boy's trip on the 20th. I still have my outside lights on, but tonight is the last night for that I think.

I would love to take my stuff down and just have a winter palate like you, mom, but DH loves all the decorations. He gets seasonal disorder this time of year and taking it all down makes him more sad so I leave it up for him. We have literally had our stuff up until Easter some years.

I just had the last of my company go home today. College kids still at home though. I usually wait until New Year's to take everything down, but I slowly started today with a few things. I might take down the big family room tree this weekend. I want to reorganize how I store my ornaments and my Christmas décor in general.

We usually take everything down and put the tree out for pickup before the New Year. But since our trash pickup is tomorrow, and I didn’t feel like cleaning up already, we will leave it up till next week and take everything down by then.

Usually we kept it all up and out forever (or so it seems- probably end of January) but I’m so ready to put it all away. I would have today but we have family coming this weekend to celebrate. Really I probably should have but oh well. It’s really not all that much this year anyway.

Mine is still up. I will take it down in a couple of days. I don’t have any definite plans as of now. Today I’m enjoying relaxing after so many days with lists of stuff to do.

Mine are all down as of today. Our tree was shedding so bad that it had to go. While I was at it, I just took everything down as well.

I just confirmed with DH he wants everything up through the weekend at least. We are having a pretty big dinner party Sat night and it is going to be a little crowded with an extra table and the tree, but it will be pretty.

NEVER before New Year’s Day ! Usually some time after little Christmas (1/6). I love my trees and never get tired looking at them.

I took everything down this evening. I was going to wait until tomorrow, but accidentally started and then didn't stop. We leave on a vacation on Saturday and I don't want to do it when we get back.

We still have to host Christmas with my in-laws on saturday. I usually keep it up until after new year's. I love sitting in the glow of the tree at night.

I haven’t undecorated but I did a major tidy up today so I feel much more organized. I had a good laugh when I was out walking the dog tonight and saw a neighbour heaving his tree out the front door onto his lawn like he couldn’t get rid of it fast enough 😂
