😡 Sent cancellation email 11/27 and 12/6, no response. Was sent a bill for January. I gave 30 day cancellation per the welcome subscriber email from April. I think they are correct, you cancelled on the 27th and since they bill on the 25th you were two days too late to not get the kit charged in December. I think the confusion is that they are selling you the January kit in December.

But in my original email I received, it says nothing about it having to be a certain day, just 30 days 🤷♀️ There goes my January budget

But 30 days from 11/27 is 12/27. They bill on the 25th every month, correct? So, if you cancelled on the 27th you would be billed on the next 25th.

I would’ve at least liked an email saying I didn’t cancel in time, instead of when I’m billed a month later. It is what it is.

The cancellation policy on their website is pretty clear that you had to cancel 30 days prior to the next billing date, not ship date. But they should have definitely acknowledged your cancellation request and confirmed that January would be the last kit you receive which will be billed on 12/26.

That would’ve helped had I been on the website 😂 I was going by my subscriber email, it never mentioned the 25th.

It sucks they didn’t acknowledge your email and let you know that you were going to be one day too late in cancelling in time. If you count actual days, 12/26 is 30 days from 11/27.

I agree with everyone else, especially that it was crummy of them to not acknowledge your earlier emails and explain it to you so you would be aware that there was going to be another charge coming.

That’s how it works with them and one of the reasons I concluded my sub. That and 2 times I ordered and ended up with incorrect items.

Thanks all, I appreciate the replies. I really didn’t know it had to be done by the 25th. Definitely my mistake. Well at least I will get another beautiful kit. I’ve always loved FJ, for years I’ve tried to buy some from every collection mostly on sale 😂 but I don’t think I’ll shop there again. I’m not real happy with not getting email responses until after I was invoiced not even a sorry to see you go lol. I just subscribed to HipKit, the design team is great! Lots of inspiration and I’m excited for something new.

I just canceled a subscription with another company, and I received a prompt & polite response explaining when my last payment would be processed. ( which is exactly when the website said it would ) Honestly I wasn’t canceling the sub for any reason related to the sub it was just my budget. But I was very pleased with the prompt & polite response even when canceling. I was impressed.

I loved the kits, the design team etc it’s purely a budget issue. I never had a customer service issue or missing product. It’s just that with HipKit I can get some of the “latest and greatest “ lines so hopefully that’ll curb a lot of spending 🤞😂. HKC has a lot of great exclusives and design team as well. If I could afford both, I would have. They are both great options IMHO

Im surprised by the consensus here. I would have not expected to be billed. So if she had emailed 3 days earlier there would not have been an additional kit?
Those directions aren't clear to me, and I would be super irritated. Glad to know now though.

It’s unfortunately how all subscription-based companies work, even outside of this industry.

I know it was in the small print, but the company probably knows that most people will not READ or REMEMBER those dates/details, and so they get an extra month out of you. I've become super paranoid about things like this - I'm always looking for the small print - because most companies are in it for themselves, not the customer.
