Plain old blue? I do love blue--it's my fav color, but usually the color of the year is a bit different.

I love it. It's nice to see a more classic color once and awhile. I'm looking forward to see how it's used in home decor.

If the dictionary can make political statements, so can Pantone. Or at least that's how I choose to see it. 😊

from their website announcement: "Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era." Blue is calming and confident, isn't it?!? I hope the calming influence spreads as the year goes on... Seriously, though- I do like it (and all shades of blue), and it would be lovely if its influence spread quickly in the scrapbooking world. (and got rid of all the pink! blech!)

It's similar to the new PBS logo that just got changed last month from the one on the left to the one on the right:

Boring. But mixes well with more interesting colors. Boring was the first word that popped into my head too! But you're right, it would look awesome with orange or turquoise or magenta or jade or.....

Blue has always been my favorite color even from childhood. I love all shades of it with teal and tourquoise being favorites. By the way if my spelling is off it's because the spell checker on my computer quit working and I'm too tech challenged to figure out how to fix it, especially in this horrible Linex system DH insists we run on our home computers. Anyway, back to the subject.
I like that Classic Blue is the color of the year. Sometimes it's wonderful to go back to classic colors because you can either vary the shade of blue or mix and match with it.

And I guess WB changed theirs last month too. Pantone must have seen this move towards blue in logo refreshes (among other factors).

I like all blue shades EXCEPT royal blue and navy. I think a couple of my school uniforms turned me off of royal blue. I hated school, ergo also hated anything associated with it. Maybe the navy is associated with the ink we had to use in our fountain pens. Hmm, never thought of that before. This shade is close to royal blue, and it gives me a "Meh" vibe.

Don’t love it. They are going to be pushing clear and jewel tones in the near future, but, I will never budge. I am dusty, muted, earthy colors all the way. That said, that is the color of my alma mater, so, it has pleasant memories for me.

I think that shade of blue is flattering on just about all skin tones, so I think it will be a good choice for clothing.
That shade of blue was all the rage when I got married in 1989. My kitchen aid mixer (which is still running strong) is cobalt blue. The pattern of my everyday dishes (and just about every other bride who married in 1989) was Lenox's Poppies on Blue

I just love that shade of blue - actually, I like nearly all shades of blue, but that deep one is a favourite. I am glad I am no longer teaching, as it is similar to the uniform of the last school I was at, so I couldn't wear it a lot. I just ordered some wool a couple of days ago to knit a cardigan for my granddaughter, and that blue is one of the colours I bought - I guess she is going to be one trendy baby!
