Gone are the days that we ring in the New Year with a bottle of champagne, but I'm okay with that as 1) I don't really like champagne and 2) it's hard for me to stay up past midnight. What are you doing on NYE?

Our best couple friends are coming over to play music with us. And then we might play a board game. Super exciting! 😂

DH and I always stay home, have snacks, maybe play a game. We actually haven't even been staying up until midnight the last few years.

My sons invited themselves and their SO over for dinner. I just picked up everything for a taco bar.
They usually play dominos on NYE.

5 of us couples are getting together for an appetizer night. Lots of joking around and probably some card games. always a good time. And appetizers for dinner is one of my favourites.

We are hanging around at home. DS invited his girlfriend over and DD invited her best friend. We'll have pizza, play games, watch a movie and have snacks! Nice relaxing evening at home!!
Happy New Year Pea friends!!! Be safe if you'll be out celebrating!

We normally are in Las Vegas for NYE but this year we are home. We have an invite to a party but honestly, I am hoping we just stay home with a charcuterie board, wine and a movie.

I will be holding and comforting my little dog who is so scared of the fireworks they will shoot off all around me. It will be a long night. One year I put a tiny bit of a Xanax ( vet approved ) in a dish of ice cream and she was very calm. Didn’t go to sleep, but she wasn’t her usual scared self. But, dogs ( she ) are so smart and on firework nights - she will not eat anything that I could have put a chill pill in. The Thundershirt was a bust. So, I’ll be walking around with her all night and bouncing her like she is my baby. Of course, she very much is.

We normally go to a friends, but this year, we have a couple of male friends who have both lost spouses (one through death and one divorce) so we thought they'd enjoy having a place to go, and have invited another male friend of us all. Then, my DSD and her husband were supposed to go to a party but the hostess is ill, so she asked if they could come over too. So I guess it's going to be a party.

We are going to a wedding tomorrow night. Normally we do t do much so this will because big change. We reserved a hotel room for the night because I did not want tomdrivevthe hour vcd and a half home. Also, there is a shuttle to and from the wedding venue, so DH and I can both have a drink or two if we want.

We go snowboarding at a ski park near us. They have fireworks at midnight and then we hit the snow tubing side of the park until 1:00.

Both of the kids have gone away so it's just me and DSO. I was worried that it was going to be just another night at home like 340 other nights this year so I booked a table at our favourite restaurant. I booked it for an early dinner at 6pm, so we can try to avoid the traffic and crowds in town.

We have a view of the space needle fireworks in Seattle from our house, so we usually let the teens invite some friends over to watch, and we make sushi and drink cocktails. I don't go out on NYE because I had a couple of DUI homicide cases that were NYE cases and . . . no thank you.

IIRC I live within blocks of ^^^ and I also host due to my view. This year some friends and I are going out to dinner (same place we went last year), planning to be back at my place at about 10:30. We’ll have fun here until about 1:30ish. We use ride shares throughout the night, none of us wants drive after having a couple of drinks. The downside is this year there are high winds predicted, so the Space Needle fireworks may not even go off. And even if they do, the wind will be blowing towards my place, so we’ll only be able to see the first few minutes before the smoke settles in

Our plan was a quiet night at home, but DD is now having friends here so I think we'll go out for dinner & a movie, sneaking back in before midnight.

I am taking the sparkling juices and a fruit bowl, my sister is bringing the cheese/cracker plate and we are going to play tetris until we decide to go to bed which may be 9 or it may be midnight. We will probably watch the NYC ball drop and call it the new year. We don't feel like we have to stay up to midnight local time. The new year on the east coast means it is the new year in the US.

Appetizer dinner, wine, Twilight Zone Marathon. Puzzles and games. We are not very exciting. Oh, we are opening our time capsule for 1999/2000. I was going to wait until 2025, but I am impatient! 20 years is plenty long enough.

I HATE the pressure of NYE plans so I prefer we stay home.
I feel so bad for dd. She invited two friends over for NYE and today they cancelled on her so they can attend a party together. Ugh. She was so upset. So our family was going to order in and watch movies. But then a family we hardly know invited us to their low key yet catered NYE party. They’re part of our new school community - little dd just changed schools. There will be multiple friends for both of my girls there so we’ll pop in. Dh is working early Jan 1 so we’ll be home before midnight.
I think NYE should be banned 😂😂😂. But maybe I’m a party pooper.
