I so do!
I realized that every day I'm doing the whole, "You can do this! You can survive anything for a matter of hours! You got this!"

It’s sad that a pep talk is necessary but yes I do too.

I was in the last weeks before the Christmas break. I need knee surgery soon (13 days to go!) and I was finding it painful to stand outside in the cold, or to go up and down stairs, and doing afterschool care in a second floor room, with kids who were picked up at different times and who needed to run of energy outside meant a lot of both. By the last day, I was counting hours!

Yes, not every day but most days, I will give myself a pep talk on my drive into the office. I like my job but it is very demanding and stressful.

I don't feel the need to. Not that I want to go to work, but I don't hate it either. I just wish I could work only when I wanted to. LOL

I never really had to with my current job. But I have had to make an effort not to interact with a nasty, entitled coworker this year, and I find myself doing this more often. Not how I wanted my twentieth year on the job to go, it has really colored how I feel about work.

Not this year! I love my job, but I did last year. It was the only way I could get out of my car and into the building!

Definitely on Mondays and Fridays, because I teach without a break except for a short lunch on those days. Major pep talk on the way to work plus some upbeat music.

Nope.. guess I like my job?? I do start a mental list of to do things while in the parking lot. Getting into work mode?
I used to though.. there was a gal that was such a Debbie Downer.. that everyday was a challenge to walk in the door and to see what kind of mood she would be in. Did that for 20 years. Loved my job, hated that woman.

Yes, there were days when I had to work with one of my co-workers. She could give off pretty negative vibes on some days.Other than that, I liked my job. I think she somewhat helped me decide to retire, too.

There have been years and years that I have had too, and make myself go. I'm in a great place right now at work, work with great people. So I don't have to anymore. I guess I haven't really thought about that, that I don't have to do that anymore!!

Not anymore. I DID when I worked at a place that I was going home in tears on a daily basis. Worked there 9 years. Last year was horrible. Then came back from maternity leave to absolute hell. The week I came back I started looking for a new job. In a MUCH better place where I enjoy going to work now.

I haven't actually thought about it until I read your post, but no, I don't. Of course I have those "uuggghhh I don't wanna go to work today!" days but those are just typical being tired and wanting a day off, or the weather is super pretty out and I'd rather be riding my bike or something. For the most part I love my job and don't mind being there.
I have had jobs in the past though where I was so miserable I was basically in tears every day. Those kind of jobs do a number on your mental and physical health and I feel sorry for anyone in that situation.

yes. Both when I hated my job and needed internal motivation to walk out the dooor, and now when I need a confidence boost doing my job that I love. Apparently I need extra reinforcement all the time! 😄

yes.
The position I have now has morphed into something that takes more than my 40 hours. It's become something that is overwhelming. I do the best that I can, but am still behind. And I've been voicing my issues for over a year and nothing changes, it just gets more and more overwhelming.
The idea of being connected by computer/internet is amazing. However, the amount of data that is autopushed for various reasons is so overwhelming and it just keeps growing and growing.

When I taught, we had (adult) Friday Morning Dance Parties to get through the last day with kids who were a little wound up.
Now I wake up around seven, turn on my computer, and I hope that I don't have many emails to answer. No pep talk needed.

Last year I had to, because one of my students (kgtn) used to hit me and curse at me and throw chairs at me on an almost daily basis. It didn't make me want to go to work.... This year is better.

not for work but certain clients. not that a client is difficult or mean, but some just need extra hand holding or are a little slow to get with the program. overall, i love work. it's a chill enviornment. just once in a while you get that client....

Yes.
Every. single. day.
I really need a new job. Mine doesn't like me, we are not a good fit. I spend all day on a computer-with vision problems. I have accommodations, but it doesn't always help.
So pep talks are a necessity until I can run out the door.

No, but I do often find myself saying a prayer on my way to work that I will be kind and patient to all I interact with that day and that we will all be safe ( I work in a school).
