DD, 10 yo.. went from 15 to 22 degree change in 7 months and dr. wanted a 4 month checkup to monitor change for bracing intervention. She held steady, so no bracing now... but her femur length has changed over time from 1 to 1.8 cm. She broke her femur when 3 yos, so bone increased in length to compensate for growth. At 2 cm difference dr. recommends a surgical clamp (2 metal plates on sides of knee growth plate to clamp it in place to reduce growth) and then when other femur catches up they remove the plates. ANO have this procedure? Seems very minimal to help with pain/scoliosis in later years. Very glad no back bracing at this time. DD is pursing aerial cirque classes next week. She's very flexible and can't wait to try it.

I am glad your daughter won’t have to be braced, that is a great update. That is interesting about the leg growing to compensate, bodies are so weird. I have a relative that had plates and screws put in their knee and then removed a few years later because they were causing pain. No ill effects after the removal at all. I know it isn’t the same, but maybe that helps?

I'm sure she is thrilled about no bracing. Interesting about the femur clamping, I've never heard of that.
