Please don't support Ali express . . . many of the items are counterfeit
Read the article at the beginning of the page.
I was speaking with someone who knows Technique Tuesday's company, they have a person who pretty much full-time searches for counterfeit sources at Amazon & Etsy and goes through the process to protect their product.
I am sorry that your kit from SSS got messed up, lousy customer service is a turnoff!
Sorry for the side rant!
If companies want customers to be loyal and buy their designs, they need to have them in stock, offer them at a competitive price, and have what was ordered arrive. Otherwise people are going to find other means to get what they want.
Don't support companies that provide shitty service.
I agree with this. There is a stamp set that is selling out quickly on Ali from Stampin Up. Why? Because you have to spend THREE HUNDRED US DOLLARS to get it. That is RIDICULOUS, even as an incentive set. To get it in Australia, it is FIVE HUNDRED AUS DOLLARS. Of course people are going to go to Ali and spend under $8 for the stamps (and dies to go with).

Yes, I can agree to not support companies that provide poor service. It is buyer be aware. Some of these companies are very small (don't know for sure about SSS). Maybe something happened to the production run? Perhaps they didn't want to over extend and didn't realize the demand would be high? There are all kinds of reasons these things happen.
BUT NOT RESPONDING TO MESSAGES IS UNACCEPTABLE. I do agree with that.
I am just advocating to purchase from NON counterfeit companies. Ali Express is well known for the business practice of copying designs. Is it really that important to HAVE that particular die or product to support a company that is deliberately stealing designs?
SSS is not a small company.
I would be more inclined to patronize the American companies if their prices were anywhere in the realm of reasonableness for a Canadian. They are not, and I have no particular investment in supporting/not supporting the American economy. Don't care one way or the other. Dies and die cutting won't disappear if the companies do anyways - already there are designers that work directly with the Chinese manufacturing companies to produce new stuff at both a reasonable price and good quality. Where there is demand, there will be product.
I also abhor the exploitation of FOMO these companies use. That's "Fear Of Missing Out" by the way; when something is "Limited Edition!" for no good reason, or otherwise has its distribution curbed by the producing company to create artificial scarcity. There's no reason to do this other than wringing every last bit of profit from your customers.

You could try gethuman.com to get the phone number. I have used that site several times, most recently when I needed to call Amazon. Amazon does have a phone number listed on their site that I have used each time I needed to talk with CS, but they make it hard to find. Some companies don’t list a phone number at all anywhere on their site, so thank you for posting this. Edited to add: apparently it doesn’t necessarily work for every company. I tried Silhouette America, and it gave me Bank of America. So I tried just Silhouette, and it gave me nothing. Next I typed in My Favorite Things, since I had looked for a phone number for them recently and just got the email suggestion, but no phone number anywhere on their site that I could see. Even for them, gethuman.com substituted some other business, too, one I’d never heard of before. If you find yourself needing to call MFT again... (352) 360-5797

My kit that I ordered November 15 arrived on January 24. I am happy to have my gnome die that I will share with you grammadee. I am less excited about the substituted paper and the Christmas stamps that I won’t use for another nine months. I’m also not so impressed with the $5 code they included that expired on January 1. I know I am in western Canada, but I had a package arrive from China a lot faster that this one from Ohio. Their products are great but I think once I unthaw I will be ordering from somewhere else.

Well I am excited about your Simon Says gnomes, justjac! I have yet to receive my January kit which was ordered in mid December. I chose not to pay their invoice for the February kit. I thought I had signed up for six months, but since they are invoicing kit by kit, maybe I am free and clear. I agree about the FOMO part of SSS and some of the other sites. It makes a lot more sense for me to take some time and thoroughly consider decisions. I would have ordered those gnomes anyway Though b/c I really liked them.
