I’ve decided to start looking for a new job in the Finance field. 10 years ago I used monster.com but I don’t think that site is the go to any longer. What sites do you recommend?
I started looking thru Indeed lat night but it seems to have jobs posted that are no longer open when I go to the direct company website.
I do not have a LinkedIn page. I HATE putting my personal info in the web. Do I really need this page?

I'm not sure about Finance as that is not my field, but when I was searching I was using Indeed, LinkedIn, and Idealist the most. Unfortunately LinkedIn is a bit of a necessary evil, but I also applied to a LOT of jobs through them and connected with some good people. You don't need to pay for premium to get use out of it.

I have been contacted by recruiters through LinkedIn, which I don't even use that much! Plus, there is a LinkedIn Jobs function where you can set alerts for your search parameters. It will be useful for you. My XH did A LOT of hiring through LinkedIn. Granted he has tons of contacts, so if he posted something, people in his network would connect him to others.

I would also check your local or state government.

In my experience over the last five years, LinkedIn is pretty crucial. I found two jobs through there when I wasn't even looking.

I do a lot of interviewing/hiring and I use Indeed almost exclusively. As an employer, you set some parameters when you advertise there and you have to keep paying for as long as it's listed - so I don't think many jobs are listed there that are no longer open.
I personally don't use LinkedIn at all, but I know some people who have their resume there and have been contacted by recruiters. (With that said, I don't know anyone who has actually been hired that way.)

I forgot to mention Glassdoor! I applied to a lot of jobs on there as well, and it also helped me do research on the companies I was applying to regardless of what site I was using to apply. Reviews should be taken with a grain of salt but I still found them to be helpful.
