The show is finally back!
Last night's episode was ok for me. The Rebecca storyline wasn't really revealing anything new. We already know that she has some sort of dementia. The Kevin storyline seemed to be filler last night. Until the last minute. Who knows if Sophie really ends up being the mother of his child or not. I hope so.
The cliffhanger at the end with the guy in the kitchen was spooky. But we know everyone survives because we have seen them in future episodes. Well everyone except for the youngest and Deja. I can't imagine anything happening to them though. Especially Deja because they just introduced Malik.

Last night's ep was a nice "ease" into the rest of the season. I'm not so sure about the Kate/Toby/baby Jack storyline though. What's up with Toby anyway? I thought the Kevin thing was a little too good to be true. Had to laugh about the "hall pass" thing though! LOL

I do like Sophie though and hope she stays around. The Toby/Kate/Jack storyline is getting old and too drug out. It seems like forever we've been knowing something was going to happen and yet..nothing is really happening. The Rebecca storyline is predictable. And the Kevin Randall story? I dont even know what to predict. I do think whatever is going to happen is going to be a big focus this season though. DH was watching it with me and he wondered if the intruder wasn't really there but Kevin imagining it and having some sort of mental crisis. Not sure I think that is where its going, but we have known that Kevin is struggling with mental health, so who knows!

We actually liked the episode. Jack and Rebecca, the early days. Kate finding out the reason Toby was pulling back because of Jack ~ and realizing Jack has some vision when he reached for the lights. When Randall and Miguel took Rebecca to the doctor it brought back memories of my BIL taking my sister to Baylor Medical Center to be tested and got the early-onset Alzheimer's diagnosis. I love Sophia Bush (Brooke from One Tree Hill) so I was so hopeful she was Kevin's *person*. But I would be happy if it turned out to be Sophie. Evidently a lot of people online said they would revolt if she turns out to be his person. Has any else watched her in Virgin River on Netflix? The ending with the guy in Randall's house holding the knife.

I actually really enjoyed this episode. I liked all the stories- especially the young Jack and Rebecca. I would love Sophie to be the one.

Sophie for the win!
When Randall said, “You will not get past me”, as simple as that, my heart raced!

Sophie for the win! When Randall said, “You will not get past me”, as simple as that, my heart raced! I missed that! And closed captioning didn’t show it either. I thought it was just his mouth quivering in fear. Seriously, that guy standing there was so creepy. I liked the episode. It’s a slow moving show and that’s just what it is. I think it shows that we don’t know another’s life and there is so much under the surface. And i I never did like Toby, but really? Dude. Really?

The ending with the guy in Randall's house holding the knife That was chilling - I don't know what I would do if I walked into a room and found a stranger in my house, especially if he was holding a weapon. I am glad Randall came home though - Beth and the 3 girls would have been there alone, maybe the intruder knew that and that is why he broke in. I feel bad for Kevin, that girl was married all along. He just wants a real relationship. I see more trouble ahead for Kate & Toby. He has changed and his interests are changing. I thought it was noble that he switched gyms when Kara had made a move on him. He removed himself from the situation, that should tell Kate something (it is a good thing). I loved that Jack was seeing some lights - so sweet. I felt sad for Rebecca when she was thinking about how Jack told her that they'd remember this forever (when she went to the shop where she was working and they said I love you to each other for the first time). You could tell that she was worried/sad that she would forget that moment.

I watched it last night and had to stay up an extra house - thank you House Hunters - to get the image of an intruder with a knife standing in my kitchen!!!! I got tears as Rebecca and her mother were talking about real love. In know it's a drama, but I would like just a touch more happiness. The coffee shop story line was yuck! It helps to know that Baby Jack thrives as an adult, but still...

It helps to know that Baby Jack thrives as an adult, but still... Ironic, isn’t it, considering Rebecca’s relationship with her mother. I love that in the end, it was Rebecca who fought for the relationship. Kevin’s dating life. Wow. It’s rough out there. It’s funny that we are seeing him being recognized now. I don’t remember that a lot from past seasons. It’s good to see him appreciate his role and what it’s given him as an actor (and the money). Knife guy. Yes, that is the stuff of nightmares. Can you even imagine? That creaking floorboard—it just sent a chill down my spine.

Honestly, I felt bad for Kevin. I know lots of people joke about hall passes and laminated lists, but it ignores the humanity of the celebrity in question. Out of the Big 3, he has grown the most, and I hate seeing him get hurt.
I kind of hope it isn't Sophie, as I think he deserves a fresh start.
I thought the tension between Randall and Miguel was interesting. I didn't like how Randall basically accused him of ignoring the problem. It's a lot easier to note changes in a person when you aren't around them day in and day out, as when you live with someone everyday, it's harder to spot gradual changes. For example, I got more comments initially about my weight loss from people who hardly ever saw me than I did from people who saw me daily.
My heart broke for Kate when Toby said he avoided home because baby Jack made him sad. I think it would have been easier for her if he had just cheated. A huge percentage of people with a special needs baby/child wind up divorcing, and it seems a little too easy for that to be the reason behind their split.
The guy with the knife in the kitchen was chilling. I had to watch a Tivoed episode of Friends before I could sleep, and I still didn't sleep that well, even though the episode I watched was the Thanksgiving one with Brad Pitt (when he was still hot)! 😂

He didn't lock the door when he came home (pretty sure, anyway) and the intruder just took advantage of that.

I loved that Jack was seeing some lights - so sweet. What I found sad was when Kate was watching Toby interact with Jack, her smile faded. I think she realized that Toby was interacting and interested in Jack because he thought Jack had a chance at sight. Kind of a fair-weathered thing.

I thought Kevin’s date was way overboard for a first date. For somebody you’ve been seeing a while and are proposing to, maybe. But not someone you just met!
Randall- Am I the only one who didn’t think the man with the knife was real? The previews for next week showed his nighttime childhood fears of monsters. Also I’ve heard this season is about Randall’s mental health and a breakdown.

I think it is because Kevin thought she was his *person*. He had one day to impress her so he pulled out all the stops. And really, for people in the business, it probably wasn't that big of a deal.

He doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life caring for his autistic son.

Also I’ve heard this season is about Randall’s mental health and a breakdown. I didn't see the previews when I watched it on Hulu, so I didn't get that. After finding the preview on YouTube, I can see that train of thought. Then I was trying to think of anyone in the present-day storyline that it could have been and I thought of Deja's mom. Maybe she doesn't have it all together after all? It just seems strange that the show made a big deal about the mom coming to the Pearson's house. Or maybe it's just because I watched several shows in a row, not realizing that this week's episode was new until there wasn't another in the queue to watch.
