link Kind of a trippy place, especially for 7 million. I don't get the 2019 Home of the Year.

Not to my taste but I die for the greenhouse/sunroom. That is my life's dream as far as in home amenities go Oh and I do love that the long countertop in the kitchen has windows that completely open to the pool area. Great for parties! ETA: it's been on the market for 16 months without a price drop. I know it often takes a long time to sell the more upscale homes, but no price drop at all in that period of time?

Can you imagine dusting all those light fixtures in the kitchen and family/media room.

The house itself is stunning. I love it so very much! From the outside at least. Inside? I don't get the furnishings, wallpaper, etc. And the boob chair in the bedroom? Um. Okay. I am sure that I wasn't seeing it right, but in that sweet nursery there is a baby blanket thrown over the chair. I swear it looks like there is a skull on it. But I love the architecture of the home, the green house, the pool, *most* of the kitchen (again, fixtures, and the gold would kill me)- but the counters along one side and all of the storage and my DH would go gaga over the garage. We would love a pull through garage. But the inside? No way.

There are some rooms I really like, but it looks far too McMansion-y on the outside. The kitchen is ridiculously large - you could get your 10,000 steps in just by making dinner. But I’d love to have enough space to have a dedicated massage room. That’s pretty cool!

An exquisite estate in Cherry Hills Village that finished as a finalist for the 2019 Home of the Year in Colorado Homes & Lifestyles Magazine was recently listed for sale at $7.75 million.
The immaculate single-family house was originally designed in 1952 for actress and singer Ethel Merman, according to local fable. The grounds span just over two acres wrapped by formal gardens and punctuated with a vast circle drive.
The Taylors have owned the five-bedroom, nine-bathroom home at 3900 S. Colorado Blvd. for over three years. Jim Taylor, his wife and two young children relocated from the Highlands area and have been enjoying the home for the past year and a half after completing a comprehensive remodel.
“We were living downtown and wanted more space for the kids,” Taylor said.
Whoever that is....

I could definitely live there after a few tweaks. Not a lot, just a few things. And with different furniture and art. The actual walls, floors, ceilings etc are close to my style.

Interesting that his name is Taylor. I noticed the artwork of the man in the aqua jersey was 99. Jason Taylor was number 99 for the Miami Dolphins. the Dolphins are turquoise/aqua and orange. I had a huge crush on Jason Taylor until he did Dancing with the Stars. That ruined it for me. ETA, I wouldn't mind that house. The kitchen is to die for and the dormer is all set up for a craft room.

Love their outdoor areas. Not my decor style, but I could live there if I HAD to. Love how everything is so ornate, but then they have a single pillow that says Normal is Boring. Looks like something one of us peasants would buy at Target.

Honestly, I don’t understand freestanding tubs in the middle of the room. If I’m going to soak in a tub I want a place to set my drink or reading material. And I’m too old to get in and out of a tub with high sides that has no place to sit and swing your legs over the edge.

There is a lot I really like about the house itself, but for that cost I’d want tall ceilings. I appreciate that most of the woodwork isn’t too heavy and ornate as it often is in these expensive homes. I love the simple but tall base moldings. Most of the lighting fixtures would have to go. And who wants to climb out of a pool and step on grass with wet feet? It looks pretty and goes with the fabulous outdoor landscaping, but it’s not practical. We can’t see the back wall of the kitchen very well, so it’s possible the work triangle isn’t too outrageously big. The second half of the kitchen, against the outside wall is there for entertaining purposes. My cousin has a very similar setup and it works well. Thanksgiving for almost 40 was a breeze, even with tons of people in the kitchen.

They probably are waiting to get rid of the realtor. We got locked into 18 months with the selling our property. We are not dropping the price because the realtor has no interest in showing the place.

This house is one the my favorites ever posted. Thanks for sharing. I love the bones and would only be making cosmetic changes (lighting fixtures, wallpaper, etc.).

I don't for the life of me understand an outside pool in Denver. You'd get a couple months out of it each year, that's it. I guess if you're rich enough to afford that monstrosity you could heat it.

I don't know if this will paste correctly or not, but will attempt to paste the assessor info. It is owned by James P Taylor. I have no idea anything about NFL players, so maybe someone can say whether he is or not. Weird things is he bought it in 2016 for $2,175. Wonder if he made lots of improvements or ?

I am actually surprised at how much I love that palm leaf wallpaper in the bar area. I picture myself living in that house quite easily, lol.

The outside is great. The inside with the exception of the kitchen I’d have to spend a fortune replacing everything gold with silver or brushed nickel.

I live in the Northeast and a lot of people have in-ground (or above ground pools) even though we only have a few months of summer. We want to be able to enjoy every minute of that summer weather that we can. And I am sure that it is cheaper than having a camp or lake house.

I don't get the wide open french doors for the dining room and the bedroom. Do you not have bugs in Colorado. I'd never have that in MA.....or I'd only have them open in the dead of winter. I love how it opens up a room but you can't have them open...or I couldn't here.

Kitchen is way too big.
ADORE the outside pool area and the bar area with palm leaf wallpaper - I could live in those two spaces - Pass me my cocktail!
