Wow, Kehinde Wiley painting there. Pretty cool.
It's a pretty great house. Don't love the decorating but I've seen worse. And I think 7 million is actually reasonable - not like I could write a check for it but here in the NY metro area that would go for so much more.

I don't for the life of me understand an outside pool in Denver. You'd get a couple months out of it each year, that's it. I guess if you're rich enough to afford that monstrosity you could heat it. I have friends (who have money.. not THAT kind of money) but they do well.. They have an outdoor pool they use year round.. It's heated. DD goes over there once and a blue moon to swim. They are a VERY athletic family so it gets used year round. sighhhhhh.. lol

We have an outdoor pool, but we're in Florida. We do have heating for it, but the cost is just insane. I know it's in the hundreds to get it to a good temp in the winter and keep it there for a week. So we are currently in no pool mode, but it will be warm enough to swim in by sometime in March, and then it's good through October or even November, depending on weather.
I wish we could afford to heat it, though; I miss swimming!

My sister was the same (until she moved).. couldn't really afford to keep it running throughout winter cause heating it was so darn expensive. She is so funny though.. when those big storms came through she would collect as much water to keep the pool full.. cause their water bill was INSANE.. not including filling the pool.

That's pretty funny. Our water bill isn't too bad. We have to empty water from the pool after many of our storms. In fact there were a couple of times that it overflowed before we could do that! And we've had out patio flood. That was a bit scary! I love the storms here though; they are so dramatic!

I don't get the wide open french doors for the dining room and the bedroom. Do you not have bugs in Colorado. I'd never have that in MA.....or I'd only have them open in the dead of winter. I love how it opens up a room but you can't have them open...or I couldn't here. I live about 15 or 20 mins from there now, but I'm from NH. There are definitely not the bugs here that there are in New England. I miss most things about home, but the black flies are not one of them. We could leave our sliders open and the most we'd get is an occasional regular fly or in the summer a giant mosquito.

What I want to know is how do you fill that stand alone bathtub? Pic 20 in the listing. Did I miss something? My freestanding tub fills from the ceiling. Maybe that one does too?

It looks professionally staged from top to bottom - that's why there's no warmth to it. Love the outdoor spaces - gorgeous; but I wouldn't like to maintain that inside space at all! But then I guess if you pay that, you have others maintain it for you.

Some days I really wish I was wealthy enough to afford such an obnoxious display of consumption. All those fabulous rooms, and a giant pool in a state that is only warm enough for it for 3 months out of the year. I really like the kitchen. I don't like the gold, but people keep telling me brass is making a comeback. I'll never willingly put brass in my house.

I moved to the mountains in southern New Mexico in June 1990 and except for the 10 years in the absolute middle of Colorado, I've been here. That is what I like best about both places, no extreme bug infestation!!! Yeah, there are bugs but NOT like what I'm used to in north Louisiana or DFW Texas area. What I like best is VERY few mosquitoes!!!
We LIVE outside when we can. My DH and the dogs, especially the one that just turned one are heartbroken that they can't spend all evening outside this time of year! Many winter days, unless it is too windy, raining or snowing, there is at least an hour or two in the afternoon on weekends where it is warm enough to be comfortable outside.

My grandparents had an in ground outdoor pool in Denver, and they weren’t living large out in Cherry Hills lol but in middle class suburbia. They heated it with solar panels, and kept an insulating cover on when it wasn’t in use. Wasn’t used in the winter months though. Loved that pool! I could make a go of living in this house, but agree the grass around the pool is no good. Visited a family friend out in Cherry Hills once, their pool was in the center of the house, built in a terrace type patio area but fully enclosed, under glass skylights that could be opened for nice days so you were “outdoors” and closed for colder, inclement weather. I remember being so blown away as a child!

Interesting that his name is Taylor. I noticed the artwork of the man in the aqua jersey was 99. Jason Taylor was number 99 for the Miami Dolphins. the Dolphins are turquoise/aqua and orange. I had a huge crush on Jason Taylor until he did Dancing with the Stars. That ruined it for me. ETA, I wouldn't mind that house. The kitchen is to die for and the dormer is all set up for a craft room. I wondered the same thing about the apparent Dolphins artwork; perhaps they're related?

Here's what I don't like/understand about the pool. It is surrounded by grass. There is no way to avoid grass while getting in and out of the pool and get back to the house without somehow washing your feet or tracking grass into the house. Why not do a concrete walk or pavers from the grass to the little table areas and/or the house?
I see grass being tracked in my house! LOL
