Wondering who you all follow for home advice, self improvement?
I used to follow Shelly's Home Life. I liked putting her on while I cleaned house and organized things better than Pretty Neat living. Jen was was the first YT I found out about (here actually) but she was too over the top for me. Shelly was a lot more relatable. Then she went Keto on me cooking those gross disgusting meals so I stopped watching her videos. Now I guess most people felt that way because poof! She deleted her channel completely without a word.
I find I can't find anyone else I like. I watched one gal...Beauty and the Beastons but she's a bit too cutesy for me, but so far she's okay. I do follow that one budget friendly Jordan Page but she can be TOO cheap for my taste. I just don't relate or care for that other How Does Jenn do it, she's just too perfect IMO.
Do you have anyone you follow that you like that you can recommend?
Also, I came across a gossip message board when I was searching for 'what happened to Shelly's Home life"...it was kind of funny, they were quoting me on what I'd posted over on the GS board about her keto lifestyle, saying omg everyone else was saying everything we were saying here, too.
Then I kinda when down the rabbit hole, and found out about Pretty Neat Living and their marriage breaking up and that her husband Don was caught posting dating profiles on some dating website, saying he was "hyper-$xual"? WTF is going on over there? LOL but ahhh IDK how these people live so publicly like that, gross!
Thought and recommendations? I need some new YTers to follow. Who do you follow and why do you like them?

I don't follow anyone but there are a few regulars I check out when I go to YouTube Came across this lady when I was looking at minimimal/declutter stuff, she came across as relatable and someone I could have a coffee with. m.youtube.com/channel/UCOKniHCzJJojp39zrAViZgQI got sucked into this declutter video/channel and watched a few more because I've never seen a farmhouse, barns and farm being decluttered before. The guy is young (22) but has a great work ethic. m.youtube.com/watch?v=FWt7caiZGJ8

Well I hadn't heard that about Jen, just saw her video that she was getting a divorce. I thought Shelly gave up on her channel when she started working outside the home. Her videos got fewer and far between. As a former YT'er when I worked at home, I get it. Hard to maintain both. I actually like Jordan Page for the most part because if I don't find the video relatable, then I find it entertaining from a WTF standpoint. LOL
Biggest drama queens YTers I follow are Tati and Nikkie Tutorials. Other than that, most of my stuff is boring. Probably my faves that are overall relatable are Organized Soprano, Do It On a Dime, and But First, Coffee. For beauty, I like RachhLoves and Jessica Braun.

I like She’s in her Apron for basic home/life stuff.
I agree that How Jen Does It is just too perfect and not attainable for my lifestyle.

I like to follow:
Clutterbug (organizing, cleaning)
A Country Life (farm life with cranberry bogs)
Downshiftology (yummy food)
Clean my space (great cleaning tips)
Food Wishes
Frugal Fit Mom
Honeysuckle
Indigo Nili (IP recipes)
Jen Chapin
Sweat peas saffron
Marriage and Motherhood (Jia)
I used to follow She's in her apron but she got super lazy and I hated how she would use her anxiety to get out of being a mom but could easily go out with friends or hide in her bed. She also makes too many excuses and her food looks nasty. She also over shared.
I still was Jen and hope everything works out for her family. CC and Don are just so stinkin' cute. I do hope Jen finds herself again. She seems like a great person.
I miss Shelly but not her keto food. She seemed down to earth.
I also stopped watching Samantha on Happily a house wife. She over books her day and week and acts as though she is super busy but is just frazzled and needs to simplify. She acts like shopping was such a huge deal ? Whatever.

I also wonder if Shes in her aprons kids stomach issues are from the way she cooks. She will make dinner at 1pm and it sits out until late at night. Or in the morning and then will put it away for layer use. Ew. Just ew.
I wish she would either stop talking about her family issues vaguely or just state what it is.
I am glad she has stopped sharing the kids and I do hope for Kally's sake that she keeps the wedding private. That is Kally's day, not Kimmy's to make money off of.
I felt so bad for Kally when Kimmy let the pregnancy rumors keep going. She made a lot of money from that and ended up hurting her daughter. That is the time I hit unsubscribe and just check in every so often.
I did laugh to myself on a video where she states she is going to make a website about home management but she herself can not maintain her house. She also is using others ideas. Not sure how that will work.

I found out about Jen's husband on that bakery site...I kinda wish I didn't know that. I didn't know you were a YTer? Jordan is very funny, she's definitely entertaining, lol! I do follow Tati and I did see that whole JC/Tati drama perviously that was kind of crazy. I also heard about Nikkie but I don't follow her...too bad she had to announce her stuff because she was forced to before it seems like she was ready? I'll check out your suggestions! For fashion I like Busbee Style, Marnie and am obsessed with T R I N N Y . I love her makeovers, I love her Zara shops...she's taught me SO much and I love her style. For healthy eating I follow Flav City with Bobby Parrish. I love how he sneaks into the grocery stores and reads the labels for you and teaches you what's good and what ingredients to look out for. I'm not near as strict with my diet as he says we should be, sheesh he's SUPER over the top but I still learn a lot from him. I also love Mind over Much for great healthy meal planning and simple recipes. Alisha is just so darn cute!

I am about to unfollow Jia though. When she quit her job she changed.
I am also wondering if the sudden clamping down on money is due to her not having a steady paycheck. That had to be a huge hit financially.
But her house us always a mess and every Sunday it is the same deal. She hasn't realized that it is her. Take control of the house and keep it in line. She is home all day so there are no excuses.
When she worked she had it together.

I’m sad for Jen- I don’t know what’s happened etc but it must be hard when you’ve never actually worked to face going it alone ( although I’m sure she will be very well supported financially ).
I like hot and flashy for skincare etc, clean my space, do it on a dime ( although I have to be in the mood for all that positivity ) and I have been following fleurdeforce since she started.
My favourite is a Londoner - Evainthecity. She does a lot of travel stuff with her gentle hubby ( they married at Christmas ).
I do like a lot of crime stuff like lordanarts, Shauna Rae and Danelle Hallen .
I also look at budgetmom as I help moderate a no spend/get debt free group and she has great ideas.

I kind of like Homestead Homemaker for organizing type videos here lately.
I've followed Jen for a long time, and I'm sad to hear about her relationship.
I also follow Organized Soprano.

Two that I follow are: The Messy Minimalist How To Get Your Shit Together
And then based on those two, I will look at whatever other suggestions pop up. No drama in either of those.
I do follow others, but they are not home/fashion related.

I fell into the hole of reaction videos. Watching people react to a video. There are some “vocal coach reacts to XYZ song” and they’ll be like “listen to that vibrato!” One time I saw a guy who was a conductor or something. I don’t think he paid attention to the words at all, he was about the sound of the instrumentals. Then I found “billy you so crazy”. I love watching him react to music videos. He does all kinds of genres. He’ll comment what he thinks is going on. If it’s sad, Billy you so emotional shows up. when he gets it wrong, enter Billy you so stupid. This rascal flatts video of “what hurts the most” is the perfect example. youtu.be/yCwoYAIpJdMHe’s funny and sincere and if a song is about something like suicide or abuse, he always stops to have a conversation about it and puts up the hotline number.

I'm disappointed in myself to say I also found my way to those gossip sites about Jenn and they about blew my mind. Yikes! I'm not going to return - I feel terrible for her family to go through all that so publicly. She's doing an admirable job keeping her head held high and moving forward with youtube.
My favorite to follow is Old World Home - I find her very inspiring and there's no drama, clickbait, or obnoxious hinting at things (this is my pet peeve in these videos!). She's inspired me to live more simply, waste less and have a more positive outlook. She does "goodwill challenges" every season and posts a huge playlist that I like to watch and often find other channels I enjoy there.
I've watched Shelley's Home Life a few times here and there, I didn't realize she had deleted her whole channel! I can't blame any youtuber for doing that honestly-- I cannot imagine having your life picked apart by strangers day after day. I would feel so vulnerable all the time and especially putting my family out there too. I couldn't hack it, that's for sure.

She's in her Apron I think I watched her before too, but didn't follow her for some reason, now maybe I know why! You are too funny! LOL Shelly, I was getting IDK weirded out by her seemingly lack of self awareness when it came to the food, I kept thinking 'come on lady..' seemingly in denial about the crap she was eating/cooking, but yeah mostly I enjoyed her little family and her videos were long enough easy to put on while I cleaned and organized stuff. Kinda like having company with you I'm going to check out that list, thank you!

I don't follow anyone. If I do watch a YouTube video it is usually a scrapbooking one unless I'm doing something in particular and want instructions on how to. Photoshop, my cell phone, kind of things.

It's been lovely to see him discovering the wide range of music, Country, classical, 60's, 70's etc. Queens Bohemian Rhapsody gets quite a reaction from people who have never heard the song or seen the video before.

I also like cinemasins and cinemawins. and screen rant pitch meetings. Here’s one for Home Alone youtu.be/fJeOfzpEetEPitch meetings if you see one you’ll get the concept. He plays dual roles of screen writer and producer as they go back and forth discussing a movie concept. And basically point out the stupidity of the movie in the process. There are catchphrases for the pitch meetings. Pretty funny. See what he does with your favorite movie.

I agree, some are definitely better than others. Also there is a lot of stop and start, or talking over the video. I didn’t get it at first, but the whole point is to see/hear their reaction. If you just want to watch a video, this is not the one you want to see. If you want to see someone’s response, this is for you. Don’t know why I would be interested in a stranger’s response, but I’m oddly fascinated by the good ones. The guy I mentioned also does movie reviews and stuff under Black Nerd Comedy.

I follow Pretty Neat Living too, and am a member at the Gossip Bakery, which has been on fire lately with the news on her channel. There were lots of breadcrumbs dropped over the last while to see the divorce coming. I know Jen has her fans, but I find her to be kookoo bananas and completely out of touch with reality, and I'd say that's the overriding opinion at Gossip Bakery, so it's probably not worth checking out if you don't share that opinion.
The others I follow are mostly travel channels: Kara and Nate, Flying the Nest, Karl Watson, The Budgeteers, and Elina Osborne, who's currently producing a series about hiking the PCT that is really beautifully filmed and well edited.
I also follow a few filmmakers to pick up tips for my own YouTube channel: Peter McKinnon and Justin Poore.
Recently I've watched a few of Eve Cornwell's videos - she's a law school grad from the UK - much younger than I am and takes me back to my student/early working days.
I still miss seeing regular content from the OG vlogger, Casey Neistat. He is a great storyteller and convinced me to film my travel videos with more of a storytelling arc rather than just we went here/we saw this/we came home.

I was lol because my post was copied and quoted, lol! That mb was a definite rabbit hole, OMG. I do find PNL too over the top, I don't think she's crazy, she seems nice enough, but I always felt sad for her, all that money and IDK she never seemed to do anything but spend it on stuff and more stuff. And then the baby talk stuff just was so cringey! I do feel sad for their kids though, all those years w/out a family and jeeze, the poor kids. I read on the site where she supposedly never wanted kids..did she actually say that in one of her vids? oh gosh if she did that's really sad. Anyway, I can't follow her for those reasons. Too much, much.

I feel like my YouTube world has been shocking me left and right lately!
Jen and her divorce...totally didn’t see that coming. I always felt Don was a creep though..she’s out of touch with reality but I think she’s in general a nice person. I like that her channel never really turned into advertisement after advertisement like most do. The pic of Don from his Tinder profile laying in bed was pure gold lol.
Jeffery and Nate breaking up ...again didn’t see that coming.
Nikkie being forced to come out as trans was a total shocker for me. I support her 100% and thinks it sucks someone would do that to her though. I suspect the owner of Too Faced Cosmetics and/or his sister was behind it.
As for other people I enjoy on YouTube I like..
Do it on a Dime. She does a lot of organization videos using the newest stuff Dollar Tree has out. Love Meg. She’s kinda hit and miss with me, I go from watching her to not wanting to. Basically she’s good I’m small doses. Simply Kayle is another destash/organizing person you may want to check out.
