I have always liked clean and simple card designs. Monochromatic themes are often simple, but have a dramatic effect. My challenge for you is to make a monochromatic card using only white paper, stickers, die cuts or embellishments. You may challenge yourself to do the sentiment in white as I did, but if you wish, you can use a light colored stamp pad to stamp your sentiment. I have created three examples of differing styles using only white paper. #1. I used a nested dies, foam adhesive, and a pearlized white paper and velum for my butterfly. Tuesday card challenge 1-21-20 by Azcrafty, on Flickr Tuesday card challenge 1-21-20 by Azcrafty, on Flickr #2. I used a dry embossing folder to emboss my front panel, punched out butterflies and white pearls to embellish my card. My sentiment is heat embossed in pearlized white. Tuesday card challenge 1-21-20 by Azcrafty, on Flickr #3. I used a Stamping Up label punch to add texture to my card by punching out labels and using both negative space and layered positive spaces to create depth. Well, of COURSE that embossing folder has decided to play hide & seek today. But I have one in my crafty little hands that will work. Is anyone planning to join in on jennylilac's cybercrop tonight? I hope to join in for a bit and create my white embossed cards then. More details here: 2PEAS Cybercrop tonight 7-11 EST!

This is a beautiful card gale w w. Love how you used your dies to create this little village scene,it was very clever to use a shadow box card base.I never made one but now I really want to try it.

That shimmery winter village is AMAZING, gale w! Was this a die set, or did you use the shadow box die and then add some edger dies to do the village? VERY cool!

The inside dies are a set from Stampin Up. I'm not sure if they're retired or current. I only used the outer box and rectangular window from the lawn fawn set. ETA: they're actually on sale. So I guess they're retired. www3.stampinup.com/ECweb/product/144671/hometown-greetings-edgelits-dies

Thanks, gale w. I think I have some edger dies in my Christmas stash. Will have to remember to use them for something like this next year. Thinking this would look really cool with a battery votive candle... Hmmm.... Here is my take on this challenge. Pretty simple, and ended up with not all white, as the sentiment didn't show up on the white background. White 0n white sympathy by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Beautiful card grammadee. I love how you used the burlap behind your front panel and that's a really nice embossing folder.

Ooh, lovely!
I can definitely do this challenge! I love me some simple monochrome design. I will try to get off my backside this weekend and run some cardstock through my Big Shot. I have several embossing folders and dies that I think will work well for this challenge.

My card is pretty simple, but I did do one thing I haven't tried yet. I stamped in white ink on vellum and used clear embossing powder over it for the sentiment. It worked well I think, the effect is neat, but I was at a loss on how to aheare the vellum to the card without the adheasive showing. Finally I just stuck it on there with glue dots and slapped some echo park enamel dots over it. I like this monochomatic effect a lot! Thanks for a great challenge!

Love how you created the sentiment and your creative way of adhering it to the card. Lol, thank you, not sure if it was creative, or desperate. Do you (or anyone) have any advice on how to do my pictures better? I take a pic, email it to myself and then open it up and try and put it here. Then it tells me the pic is too big, so I have to resize it. I try and do that, and I get it to post, but it is sooooo tiny. How can I get it to look like a normal photo? Thanks!!

I resize mine in Paint, but that's because I'm still using a laptop with Windows 7... there's some other editor on my windows 10 machine that I didn't like.

For my card, I used my Papertrey Ink Gemstone coverplate with some shimmer paper and some glitter paper. It didn't go quite as planned... I got some glue on my fingers and it started to pull up a little bit of the glitter on the glitter paper. I did use a light ink (CTMH sea glass) for the sentiment (from Neat and Tangled's moon magic set). It was a bit of a pain but I kinda want to do it for other gems now, too!

For mine I used a Spellbinders embossing folder, a Creative Expressions die (floral oval), and Heartfelt Creations 3D flower dies.

azcrafty , I will leave love in the layout for your beautiful examples. Thanks for such a great challenge. This was fun to do. gale w , I love that card. I really love all box-type cards and that is such a beautiful one. Great job. grammadee , I have left love in the gallery on your pretty cards. I love that mesh/burlap you used. @kendramage , I love the white embossing on the vellum. The enamel dots served their purpose well. Very pretty. I love the border and bow. Eddie-n-Harley, I love the mosaic look of your card. The white shimmery paper is so pretty. That gemstone cover plate is amazing. scrapnnana , your cards are always so elegant. I love the die cut panel behind your flowers. Do you use flower shapers to form them. They are gorgeous. Mine is pretty simple. I used a Stampin Up die and embossing folder and a Lawn Fawn stitched die. I added pearls but took the photo before I added them. Happy Anniversary by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Your card is lovely, nylene! I love embossed designs. I can’t tell if the floral spray is part of the embossed design or if it is applied on top?
You are right about my flowers. While I can shape them by hand, I use a flower mold most of the time, since it is so much faster. I have spent most of the last couple of weeks making flowers, both by hand, and with a mold, so I could compare the results. It’s actually pretty hard to tell much of a difference. The molds do a nice job.

scrapnnana, The floral spray is made up of 3 pieces and is applied on top. If I do it again I think I will cut 3 of each and glue them together for dimension. Thanks for the info about your flowers. I have looked at the molds, but haven't taken the plunge. I just shape my own, but they don't turn out as pretty as yours.

So many gorgeous white-on-white cards! And so many different cool techniques. You really caught people's imaginations, azcrafty! @kendramage, your white stamping on vellum has such a delicate look. Great idea! I usually use something like your dots to cover the glue behind. Or I use a two sided tape for the whole back of the vellum and then stick it all down. For sizing, I size on my iPhone when I am sending the email to myself. If I am going to use Tapatalk, I size the pic to medium. If I am going to post on Flickr, I size it to Large on the original email and then select medium on the Share window on Flickr. Love that die, Eddie-n-Harley, and I love your paper choices. Looks luxe! And the sequins add just the right amount of bling. So much depth in your card, scrapnnana! Embossing and diecutting and flowers, oh my! Love all the layers and the flowers. So pretty. Love the delicate foliage on your pretty card, nylene. And pearls would be the perfect last touch.
