Twelve Card Challenge, January 2022 (Q1) *and combined list

I started the twelve-card challenge last year, with a little nudge from joblackford .  I wanted to try to make all of my Christmas cards, and I thought I could do it with the itty bitty goal of 12 cards per month.  I think I made it through July before I couldn't make any more time to craft, but that's still a lot of cards! 

What's the challenge?  Make 12 cards each month.

That's it?  That's it.  

Do they have to be Christmas cards?  Nope.  Make whatever you like. 

Can I make more than 12?  If you have the time, motivation, and energy, you bet!

Do they have to be the same card?  Nope. (I find that if you make A2 cards 8.5x11 cardstock divides nicely for multiples of 4, and 12x12 paper divides into 6 pieces, so I usually make identical cards when I make multiples... but you should make what you like.)

Do I have to post them here?  Nope. Not required, but it's always fun to see others' work. 

Can I earn points?  You betcha.

• 1 point for each card you make, whether 1 or 20.
• If you hit the magical dozen, take 8 bonus points-- so your first dozen cards are worth 20 points total.
• If you make two dozen, you can have another 8 bonus points. (So, 20 points total per dozen available.)
• More bonus points: find a way to incorporate the monthly theme (found in the Donna challenge) and earn another 10 points (per dozen).  (This replaces my monthly prompt for bonus points, but I will include it in my monthly posts.)
  
• New for 2022: If you complete this challenge (i.e., make 12 cards) for all three months in a quarter, you also earn 50 bonus points.

Combined monthly list of themes and suggestions.  Please use each month's separate thread for sharing projects.  The only projects posted in this thread should be January's.

January theme: Out with the Old, In With the New. 

• Use older products on the outside of your card, finish the inside with with new product.
• Finish up a package of something already in your stash, and open a new product to work with.

February theme: Together (post projects in this thread)

• It's February, so there is of course a lot of focus on traditional romantic love, but what about your siblings, kids, coworkers and BFFs you spend time with?  Make a card for those people/events. 
• Lots of cute stamps out there with item pairs, like "milk & cookies" or "peanut butter & jelly."  
  
• Get out your scraps and that box you have with all the random embellishments... take some time and group some things that look nice together and use them on a card.  Could be anything from a couple of patterned papers that looked neat together, or some little items to make an embellishment cluster.  (Link is to the CTMH blog but not affiliated with any CTMH demo.)
• Explore color theory to learn what makes colors work together and choose a color scheme to work with (i.e., complimentary colors, triad, analogous, etc.).

 March Theme: Balance (post projects in this thread)

• Create a card that is symmetrical (that is, balanced on both sides).
• Try a gatefold or similar fancy fold card.
• Balanced does not necessarily mean equal... try using the "gallon, quart, pint" method for balancing your colors or patterned papers.
