Your website photo slide show cluttered with close-up images of fairy lights in glass jars and wooden fish plaques on the wall in no way help me make an assessment about whether your property is a good fit for my family to rent. Thank you.

if that's the best they can show, i would be wary about what they won't show.

if that's the best they can show, i would be wary about what they won't show. Well, they eventually get to photos that show the various rooms, but I have to wade through lots of stupid and irrelevant photos. Although one helpfully had a photo of the inside corner of a shower showing a plethora of shampoo bottles and dark moldy growth. <shudder>

babysitter on FB neighbourhood page - i am so great with kids, i love kids so much, please keep me in mind!!! it sucks that people judge me as if i am satan himself because i have tattoos. meanwhile her FB profile shows "in a relationship" with dude. said dude has pics of himself, smoking, drinking, dope, partying it up. no, it's your tattoos. hey.... do what you do on your time, but don't be surprised if some parents who might poke around about a potential babysitter don't want to keep looking elsewhere when *that* is available for them to see without even knowing either of you.

Or photos of around the town, the beach the sunset etc unless it is a direct view from the house. Now I'm confused thinking it'son the beach but it's ot listed as beachfront. I can Google what to do in the town myself or if you want you can leave links to your town or make a separate album for that if it's on your own website or FB but if it's a VRBO listing I know what the town has to offer.

I’ll join you in that vent. We just spent a week in Italy and a weekend in Normandy. Because we had our adult kids with us, I wanted multiple bedrooms and went hunting on AirBNB. I won’t rent from a place that doesn’t have photos of the bedrooms and bathroom. Show me what your place looks like so I can decide if it will work for us!

Right up there with hotels that only show maybe one style of room and then maybe the most expensive room (of which there's probably only one anyway). Don't get me started on the pool photos that make it look ginormous because of the angle used...I've started studying other things in the background to get a better idea of the scale.

Oh yes, it's lovely that Mr. Vacation House Owner is an artist. And so nice that his artwork is hanging in the condo. But could we see pictures of the rooms and furniture in addition to his artwork? I can't sleep on a framed print, is there a bed in there? How about a couch? 90% of the pictures are of his art, and 10% of the town. Not so very helpful to a renter.

If you get professional photos with Airbnb (which they push you to do) you are at the mercy of whatever their professional photographer/stager decides to photograph in your place. Apparently there was a whole trend of showing close ups of bathroom faucets with the water running, staged fruit bowls, and super close ups of the corner of white sheets and an artfully draped blanket.
Needless to say, I never got the pro photos, because I think those are really stupid.

Drives me nuts. It is so often impossible to tell anything from the photos. A blueprint/room layout map would be so awesome.

Another thing I’m noticing is that the same bedroom will have multiple shots from different angles, with different bedding. So you really have to look to see if it’s the same room or a different room.
Luckily, very few European places seem to use professional photos. Or maybe I’m just looking at the cheap ones?

At our last Airbnb, we had a wonderful 3 bedroom place.. Seventh floor. No access to stairs. Two elevators the size of a port o let. Maybe you should mention that one of the elevators is just this side of a death trap. We got stuck in it in Puerto Rico. No emergency bell or number to call. Thankfully we had friends that took the other elevator.

All of the above is why I stay in hotels!

A blueprint/room layout map would be so awesome. I agree. It helps when they are basically trying to pass off a hallway as a bedroom or have crammed three beds into one room.

Read the reviews. I don’t stay at places without a good number of reviews and they can be very illuminating about things not covered in the listing.
We’ve also stayed at hotels that were less than forthcoming in their photos and descriptions.
