Sorry for the late post! I've been trying to nurse a sick toddler back to health the past 36 hours and now I finally get a little break! On Wednesdays I'm going to be posting some mixed media challenges. I don't know about you, but I have piles of things that I had to get that are never used! This week let's start easy and use some splatters on our pages! Whether you use a brush, straight out of the bottle or another creative way, get them on that page. And for the twist, grab something you haven't used before to do it. Whether it be a new color, new supply or a new way of making your splatters, give yourself the bonus! Here's my page that I used splatters on for this week and I finally opened up my bottle of Jen Hasfield's gold glitter to do it Week 1 by Boy Mom, on Flickr

I'm glad you started off with an easy one..... but just the fact that you mentioned starting off easy makes me wonder what else you have in store for us! Your layout is lovely, such a fun photo, and the papers and title and embellishments are perfect for the photo.

Oh I need to do this challenge for sure! I have so much mixed media that I haven't actually used. And I LOVE your LO! Love the colors and that cluster!

Here's my layout. Looks great! And the blankets are beautiful! Did you make them? The paper compliments them all!

You are an amazing crafter, jeremysgirl! Love that you documented your yarn creations on scrapbook pages! And that you added those cute little crocheted doilies as embellies!

This is my layout for Day 5. For the twist, I used a template that I bought just yesterday, that had the splatters as part of the template. So I guess that counts?

Here is my splattered project--a valentine's card. The splatters were created by spritzing HS reactive mist on a card base, then running it through the Minc with DecoFoil. The word die "valentine" is not new, but I had not used these ones before--they were still all joined together with nibs in my TE February month set I had purchased a few years ago. So I am claiming the twist. valentine '20 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I think the silver foil flashed back at my phone to create the grey look in the photo. It is actually bright white!

jeremysgirl, I am so impressed with your needlework. Those each look wonderful and I got teary when I read that you sent one to KelleeM from the peas. What a thoughtful friend you are. Those pages are a beautiful reminder of hours and hours of crocheting. boymom5, AussieMeg, and grammadee, I left love for you in the gallery. Here is my Day 5. I used some new white distress spray stain that I just ordered and some older gold glimmer mist to make my spatters. The gold doesn't show up very much, but I like the white. I am a real novice with inking on layouts, so this was a fun challenge for me. Little Swimmer

The gold splatters are my addition. The blue came on my Vicki Boutin paper.

okay - this one was a true challenge for me...I have NO mixed media supplies and am not the least bit artsy. So hopefully this counts - I used nuvo drops (green, copper, gold) and randomly dropped them on the card front and then topped with scrap paper to make them more splotchy - let dry and used as the background for my card.
