Does anyone have a steam mop that they would recommend? I saw the Shark Steam Pocket Mop had good reviews, and I am considering getting one.
Do you notice a difference between a steam mop and regular mop?

I have a shark steam mop and I love it. It cleans well. Mine has 2 shaped heads the long one and the one for corners. The covers are easy to launder. We got it because it was safe for the dog, leaving no residue on the floor, which means it’s 12 ish & still going strong ( I kept the steam mop in the divorce )
I can’t say if they are still manufactured well as some times quality can change over time

I have one too and I love it, although mine isn’t the pocket type it’s just a Shark steam mop with the removable, washable pads. This is our second one, the original one we had worked great for probably over 15 years before a part of it broke and it had to be replaced. The new one seems to be a lot sturdier than the first one and the water container is easier to fill. When the first one broke, I went out to Costco and bought another one the same day.
At our old house we had old pitted linoleum flooring in our kitchen that would get so dirty because the dirt would get stuck in the pitted texture. But that steam mop would power that gunk off with nothing but water or water with a little white vinegar mixed in. It was awesome. This house has a textured tile in the kitchen, hallway, bath and laundry (what the previous owners were thinking when they chose it, I’ll never know). I use the Shark mop with a Norwex mop head for tile stuck to it, and it really gets the floors clean.

I bought a Shark steam mop about 10 yrs. ago from Costco, but gave it away. Different house, just didn't work for us then. But can't wait to use it now!

This is the one I have: www.kohls.com/product/prd-3075019/shark-steam-mop.jsp?prdPV=21I’d wait for a sale, coupon or Kohl’s Cash, etc. to get a deal though because Amazon has that same one for under $60.

I have one and LOVE it! I believe it's called the lift away that comes with attachments. I use it on my laminate floors with no issues. It's a life saver on my knees. You don't have to do any hard pushing like you would with a regular mop when you have stubborn marks on the floor. It's awesome for cleaning base boards. I have used it to clean off walls and cabinets, but I don't put it too close.

Does it have a hand held attachment to use for baseboards? I don't think the shark pocket mop has that. I will have to look into this feature. I love cleaning baseboards!

I will have to look into this feature. I love cleaning baseboards! It appears my model is older, but I found this on their website. I actually like the design of this one better with the way they placed the handle on the lift away part. In the photo, it shows the lady cleaning the stove hood with that triangular attachment. That is one of my pet peeves. The triangular cloth is the only one that consistently slides off. I hope they've made an improvement with this model. You can take that part off and just use the hose attachment. That's what I use when I do the majority of clean ups. Oh, also bar stools! Wow, it takes the grime off so easily! www.sharkclean.com/exclusive-offer/S3973DWBKT/shark-lift-away-pro-steam-pocket-mop/

Thanks for all the input on the mops! It sounds like everyone is happy with their steam mop, and Shark has a lot of different models. I got the Pro Steam Pocket Mop at Target and can't wait to use it!

My 16 yr. old did the kitchen and foyer after school. We are impressed! I moped the kitchen floor yesterday, and it still looked clean. When my daughter did the steam mop, the pad was very dirty! I guess this works!

The only way I could get the linoleum floor at my old house *clean* clean was on hands and knees with literally a magic eraser or green scrubby pad. The steam mop took ALL that crud off effortlessly, without any of that other manual labor.

The steam mop took ALL that crud off effortlessly, without any of that other manual labor. We put in ceramic tile floors in our bathrooms this summer. They are beautiful. But they would get "dirt" areas that we could not clean up with scrubbing the floor. We don't wear shoes in the house, but they still get dirty. The magic eraser was the only thing that would clean the areas of the floor. I hope the steam mop works well too! Although our bathrooms aren't large, so doing the floor with a magic eraser doesn't take long.
