Said ok..will have before then no problem. Week later start asking is it done. ..not yet...said u didn't need sooner. Asked 2 more times so went and made it yesterday with the benches. Send message it's done. OK thanks will try and get this weekend. What? Now I have to try and store it out of the weather? Frustrating!

It's called 'hurry up and wait' syndrome. Tends to strike unexpectedly.

I' confused if you are the one ordering a table or making the table. Either way, the business end is very sloppy. Even if you aren't in a hurry it is a good idea to set a deadline at the time of the order so everyone knows what to expect and when.

We are making it. They ordered and said no rush. Then kept asking when /if it was done. Went and did it then told us will be the weekend before they can come. Should have said that instead of giving impression they would pick up right away.

You are going to be a much happier business person if you don't go by impressions. Use a contract, with dates even if they aren't in a rush. I think the person you need to smack is yourself for putting yourself in that position in the first place.

We have this problem every single day at work. We are a repair shop. Most of the time they want something done rush rush and we call and tell them it is ready and they show up in a week to pick it up. Very frustrating but the nature of the business lol.

This happened to us recently. We are moving into a new house this week so in September we ordered some new furniture and appliances from a couple of different stores. We made all of our orders on Labor Day Weekend and we were assured that we would have the furniture this week. Several weeks ago my husband called all of the stores to set up delivery times and at one store we were assured that the furniture had been ordered and it was sitting in their warehouse waiting to be delivered. Last week we were called back by the furniture store to notify us that they didn't have our coffee table that we ordered and that it is on back order and won't be delivered until sometime in November. Apparently they had all the rest of our furniture, even the side tables that match the coffee table, but they never got the coffee table because the manufacturer has a "backlog" of orders for that specific piece. First we were told they had all of our order and then weeks later, we were told that our order won't be complete for several more weeks. I think they accidentally sold our coffee table and they had to order a new one. I'm not happy about this, now I have to wait to sell our old coffee table set until we get the new set in. This just makes life a big more complicated for this move!

I think you've been very lucky. It does sound a bit vague to me and open to potential misunderstanding and problems.
