I've noticed spring-loaded scissors for sale in every big box store's papercrafting section. How do they compare to Cutterbees or the like? TIA.

I have a small fiskars scissor that is spring loaded. I use it and regular scissors, whichever one is handy. The spring loaded one is easier on your hands because it just opens up automatically. Cutting-wise, it cuts the same as any other scissor. The small fiskar one I have is very sharp.

I have the Fiskar's scissors (usually in the quilting aisle at the store) and love them. They are easier on your hand and they are great for fussy cutting. Definitely worth investing in a pair.

I have the Fiskars Micro Tip scissors and love them! I've been using this style for 10 years or so. The arthritis in my hands makes my fingers swell and it was getting harder and harder to get my fingers in and out of the holes on the handles of regular scissors. So I switched to these and have never looked back.

Yes, the Fiskars ones are amazing. I like them for their cutting tips alone!

I have the Fiskars ones, too. I bought them more than 10 years ago, definitely a good investment. If you’re doing a lot of cutting or fussy cutting, they’re great.

I have the Tonic Studios brand and I love them for fussy cutting. Mine are very sharp and the end is pointy. I would invest in them again if I lost them.

i have a couple pairs of Fiskars spring loaded scissors. i like them because they spring back open so there isn't as much stress on my thumb to open the scissors back up. i have this on the longer shears and a pair of fine point nips. i only wish my pinking and scalloping scissors were spring loaded. those things weigh a ton. again, Fiskars.

I’ve been using mine for years. Along with being easier on the hands I like that they don’t have the usual loop handles most scissors have. It makes them much more comfortable. Plus mine came with the cover so I don’t stab my hand when I’m searching for my scissors in a pile of stuff.

I bought two pairs of We R Memory Keepers spring loaded scissors at TM and I love them. I had the Fiskars spring loaded scissors back in the day but my kids stole them (then lost them...). TM carries the We R scissors for $4.99, I think? Definitely worth it!

I have 2 pair The tonic ones & the WRMK ones. I prefer the WRMK ones. The lock to close them is in a much more natural place to use.
For the tonic ones the lock is on the bottom of the handles and I can’t just flip it closed like I can the WRMK ones. They are sharp and pointed & work well but I just don’t like fumbling to close them so I reach for the WRMK ones which are also sharp & cut well.
