I'm hitting that punchy point in my day. I've been drinking chicken stock all day and I'm waiting for them to call me to tell me what time to be there tomorrow. I start the real fun at 4 pm. We had a huge storm last night so while we have power, our cable is out. I can only watch Tivoed things and episodes of Chopped are all I've got! So I can't eat and all I can watch to distract me is a cooking show! Good grief!

You poor thing. I would have to go take a nap or something else. No way I could watch that while doing that prep.

All done and no issues. I really recommend the prep I had. Not much to drink and it didn't taste bad at all. Prepopik - no cramping or vomiting. Just drank it (5 oz.) and 5 8 oz. glasses of a clear liquid of my choosing in the next 5 hours. Another dose 6 hours later and 3 more glasses of clear liquid and done. Some bathroom time but not bad at all.

The prep is the worst part of the colonoscopy. I went with a Dr. who only prescribes 2 - 10oz bottles of magnesium citrate and drink clear liquids all day. I couldn't imagine having to drink that huge container of prep! No thank you...lol It is a small price to pay for your health. And the day of the procedure, I was asleep before they even started doing anything. Great twilight drugs...

The prep drink is the bad part. ICK. I beg for the pills, but those are huge and salty. Glad everything is done and you're fine.

Prepopik is really the way to go. Not much to drink and it wasn't disgusting. Totally the way to go.

It was much better than that huge bottle of stuff, but he had a morning appointment and had to get up at 3 AM to finish the prep at the right time.

Glad to hear the prep has improved. My last one was 4 years ago and I felt like I was being punished for every sin I had ever committed.

I've been there, best of luck to you! I have to tell you though, what I *AM* jealous of, is your username! THAT. IS. AWESOME. I have no imagination. I remember staring at my screen years ago trying to come up with something cool, and that's how I got my current name. "Forget it, I'll just use cindy till I come up with something better...." says justcindy, about 10 years ago! HA!

Thinking about you, AB! How did everything go? Have you recovered?

Thanks, Cindy. Yep, all recovered. Took awhile to get the effects of the prep out of my system. A couple polyps removed and a new medication but I'm all good! Thanks for asking.

awww......I know EXACTLY how ya feel...((( hugs ))) (I've had several---the PREP is the worst, the procedure is NOTHING!) Bless your heart if you can watch COOKING shows or ANYthing with FOOD.....that would be soooo hard for me on prep day......!!! Hope it all goes well for you! EDITED---OOPS, I quickly read your OP and didn't realize you've already had it till I saw that post above....glad it all went well! I feel bad for mannny people who are so AFRAID to have this done----I try to tell them you don't feel a THING, annnd, the drugs they give you help you FORGET.... (although, honestly--I guess I'm one of those weirdos that the drugs didn't always put me into "twilight sleep"....I was slightly awake for some of mine, AND still remember seeing the images on the screen---I was fascinated! Were you awake at all during? And/or do you remember anything at all about it, (once they gave you the drugs?)

I've got to have this done later this summer and I'm going to check into that prep. My dr. is VERY old school and so far has insisted on the Golightly prep....a gallon of the most godawful stuff known to man! My last one had to be canceled because I couldn't get it down.
A friend of mine told me about the Miralax prep, which sounded more manageable. But this one does too. So he can just order whatever prep he wants, but I'm going to find one that I can manage. If nothing else, I know I can get the Miralax stuff all over the counter.
