At Christmas we got two new dogs (they were given to us by my niece’s mom) so they have made themselves at home and they are ornery as can be. They are sisters and 10 months old. Since our one dog was killed they have fit in really nice. They are Pomeranians. Lily and Poppy)
They have some funny quirks but one I just can’t explain. Lily jumps up on the back of the couch and puts her nose on the edge of the monitor (the computer is right next to the couch) and shocks herself. At first I thought she was trying to chew on something but then I started really watching what she was doing and yeah... puts her nose right on the side and poof a little electric shock. This morning her tail was so big from the static electricity is was hilarious. Why would she do that?? Lol
They also bark at all the animals on TV even cartoons or if they are even quiet, no sound. This is something we need to control. Uggg
Does your dog do something weird?

That's crazy that she would purposely shock herself. I have no clue why! But they're both pretty cute. I especially love the paw crossing over the other one. One of our cats lays like that.

Funny she shocks herself! Our German Shepherd puppy has to put his mouth on my hands when he’s excited to see me. He doesn’t bite or break the skin he just has to have his mouth on my hand. I’m trying to replace my hands with a toy or ball, so far he is resisting

It must feel strange in a good way for her to keep doing it. Interesting.

Ugh they are so cute!! Lily's tail, though Our golden doodle is a nut, but what is amusing me lately is how obedient she is for DH and not me (but I'm her person, go figure). If DH and I walk up the stairs together she won't pass him at all, yet she's tripping me, sideways on a step blocking me, etc., hoping I'll pet her. And if I go up the stairs first, she whines from back behind DH since she won't pass him up.

I'm not sure you'll be able to get that re-directed. I love GSDs and miss ours. We have a border collie/Australian Shepherd mix. She picks things up in her mouth and barks around it when she's excited. Our shepherds NEVER did that. She's a Cray Cray Princess Pumpkin HRH Sophie.

Oh yea, mouthy little land sharks We were able to redirect our now 8 yr old GSD to a ball. She still picks balls up to mouth them when she gets excited. But that does not mean we will be able to do it with him With him it also seems to be a bond with me. And he isn’t even my dog, he’s dh’s dog

I have a doxie that likes to snort which is cute, and rolls in the dirt which isn't always cute but funny nonetheless.
