The outside reminds me of a bunch of railroad cars joined in various angles.

There's a lot I love about it, but I'd also want to do a lot of updates that would respect the architecture and aesthetic but be a little more modern.

I LOVE that style of home! It has great bones.

Hmm, I didn't notice any kitchen pictures, the bathrooms have builder grade finishes, the decks and wood siding is in hqad condition, and how does a flat roof in Colorado work out. Also that little eating area under the atrium that has a wee ledge to keep you from tumbling down the stairs seems risky. As well as you will be able to hear events at the sports field next to them.
Just doesn't look like a $4 million plus house to me.

I could have fun with this house. I did laugh at the home gym. I swear my dad finished the basement with the same ceiling tiles, floor tiles and paneling.

We live right in the foothills, so I have the views, but not the price! We could have paid our house off in four months at that price point.

The views are beautiful. I don't like the exterior of the home though and I'm surprised the cabinets and countertops in the kitchen and bathroom so obviously need an upgrade. Plus what's with the a/c window unit with cords showing? Totally out of place on a house at that price point.

The home value was consistently at $2 million until it went on the market...for double that. Unless it’s situated on a hidden oil field like the Beverly Hillbillies, it’s hard to figure out why. Judging by bathrooms, kitchen, and gym area, the owners have not upgraded anything in a very long time.
it looks like it has great potential...if they cut the price to $1.5 million at most.

Just doesn't look like a $4 million plus house to me. Exactly! I went at that....you wouldn't have any kids to stay or visit that house that's for sure. I don't find it very attractive at all from the outside...it looks a bit industrial. The bathroom tiles would give you a headache looking at them for too long.

I thought it looked like a house built out of shipping containers. The only thing I like about the house is the pyramid skylight that sits over the deathtrap dining area.

i guess i was expecting more, both of the house and the views. the way the water is pooling on the flat roof makes me nervous too, doesn't seem like it's draining that well? maybe it was just a really warm day and the melt makes it look like there's more standing water than there actually is.

I don't care for it at all. Even the front entrance-on a 4 million dollar house you'd expect a nice front entrance but all we see is a spindly handrail and that's it. Inside it's not finished well (really needs updating)-I'd expect a lot more for 4 million (and I live in a very expensive area). I'd never live next to a sporting area either. My grandmother lived near a school and the noise when the bell went off and recess began was loud every day.
Sorry, not my idea of a great house. I do love the views though.

How funny, this one popped up on my zillow email this morning! I don't think they will get anywhere near what they are asking. I have my eye on another one nearby that is half the price, twice the square footage, and totally updated and stunning.

I would definitely take the first house over either of those two... it needs some updating, but I love the midcentury style vibe, and think it could be super cool with some updates. Not for $4 million though, wow! I live in Denver and it is crazy the prices around here. DH and I would like to downsize in a couple years after our kids finish high school, but there is nowhere to downsize to locally that isn't just as much as what we have!

I don’t like it at all. Too boxy, nasty windows, and the beams are far too much and far too distracting. Strangely, the pale yellow bathroom kinda appeals to me.

I do like some of the rooms, but the outside is awful. So many bits jutting out at odd angles, and the roofline is ridiculous!

I'd have to take a hard pass on that one. WAY too much wood.

If I had that much to spend on a house, I would get this one in central Scotland. It includes 25 acres of land, and I could happily live there! Link
